I've just bought a bundle of kid's clothes on ebay. Cost a bit over a fiver plus nearly the same for P&P. Lightweight summer stuff so they were making a fair turn on postage but I bid low to take this into account.

Pretty much as soon as the auction ended, got an email from the vendor saying that the bundle no longer exists as listed as his wife has given most of it away. But I can have the leftovers (!) for a reduced price. Needless to say, it's not the nicest bits that are left and presumably postage is still extortionate (he didn't mention that).

I'm a bit put out. I don't want to leave neg feedback because I'd only do that if I thought I'd definitely been stitched up. But I do have my suspicions about the vendor, especially as postage is so high. And anyway, I really don't want what's left - it was a bundle and I was really buying it for the parts that no longer exist. But I don't want them to neg me for not going through with the purchase.

What would you do?

I'd let him know that you don't want it and that you're not bound to the bid as he isn't giving you what he advertised. It's really not on to list one thing then offer another. He should relist what's left.

If he doesn't agree then I'd feel totally justified leaving negative feedback.

Abserbluddylutely! Rude bastard

Email back and say that in that case you no longer want the product as it is not as described, so could be please refund you ASAP *shakes head astoundedly at the sheer nerve of some people*

ETA: just reread and i don't think you paid? If you haven't then email him and just state you don't want the item anymore seeing that it is not what you were bidding on, and then if it were me i would write a new thread on the community message board to to see what to do exactly, as he will have to do something his end to get his fees back and i think there is a way of mutually cancelling the agreement without any need for bad feedback or unpaid item disputes.

Remember this is not yr fault, i wouldn't dream of listing 2 of my cushions for example and then at the close of auction telling the buyer that actually the cushions were a different shape, colour and the dogs peeed on the corner, its just not on!!
