any recs?
have been looking today, but there are so many to choose from, even carolines insistence on sitting in all of them didn't help  (neither did the fact that she got over excited and pooped herself in mothercare :zombie:)
Do I need one that vibrates/plays music/turns them into einstein/changes nappies etc, c was very taken with a fisher price on that had parrots and things on it but it was £50 :faint:
which one have you got and was it a good buy?
baby bjorn very plain but fab
Hauck one with Pooh, Tigger etc but no other features. He tried a vibrating one at a friends house but wasn't bothered by it, and didn't even start to play with the toys til he was almost too big for it. And I had the radio on for music, so didn't need a musical one. So I would go with the cheapest one personally!

Think we might have the same one Minky, this one (http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay_359_et%21letb~ev%21Baby+Bjorn%7C%7C _10751_-1__6605_10001_)?
Agree it is plain but Thomas seemed to really like it and it has a nice bounce to it. Can't really explain what I mean by nice bounce but the first one we had was awful, a really juddery bounce if that makes sense.
We're actually looking to sell ours ( )
Not sure what make it is (was a gift) but it's got a seat back that reclines with about 6 (?) positions, so can be totally flat for a newborn to lie on, up to upright for early weaning. It rocks or has a bar so you can fix it stationary, and a removable toy bar. Both of mine have loved it and used it from birth until 6mths. Would definitely recommend it (if I knew who made it! ).
ETA this is ours, tried selling it on ebay but no takers  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=190131417481&ssPageName=STRK:MEUS:IT&ih=009

I got the Fisher Price kick and bounce one from Ebay for £25 and it's been through two babies now (and the vibration function was absolutely invaluable for Hettie)
Highly recommended.
And I would also say do definitely have a look on ebay :thumb:

We have the same one as Mrs Buster & Amethyst - it lies flat, then you can have the back upright which is v. handy for weaning. like this one. also you can have the base so it is fixed or you can have it so it rocks slightly (by knocking it with your foot)

I have to sing the praises of this.
She is still in it now despite being nearly 15 months. Bought brand new off ebay.

We had a vibrating Babies R Us one to match Elise's room, and she used it a lot, the vibrate was almost always on, and definitely helped, but then we got this:

and never looked back! We did still use her bouncer thouch, as it's obviously portable, whereas the swing isn't.

We had a mamas and papas one that played music the batteries leaked and have just ordered a new one. Which will be our third. I would get one that you can stop the rocking so you can feed in it or put bubs in after a feed. Have just got a chicco one which is suppose to be suitable up to 9 months. A colourful toy bar is great too.
