Say "aye".
Been using one now for three months and all I can say it is brill!
No more yucky towels or tampons with dangly strings.

I'm hoping to give them a go when the old bag :witch: reappears.

I'm really not sure about them. My friend is going to give them a go and is reporting back to me. TBH, I've forgotten what having a period is like. :ellie:

I've read alot about these on HB, and I've seen them on eBay, and the reviews are pretty good. I do want to try them, but it looks like I'm getting the implant, so prob won't have any periods. Though I'd defo get one when the implant comes out and we TTC again.

How long does it take to get used to them Madasatwig? And does one cup last a long time, or would you need a new one, say, every year? And how do you know when to empty it?

I use one- but not at the moment of course! :preggie:

Really thought bleeuuurrrghhhh at first but then they made more and more sense. Used it ok from the first month but took me about 3 months to be completely confident with it. Love it love it love it, it really is much better than tampons.

Will deffo be using again when AF returns after the birth.

Yeah feels weird at first but you learn to know when you empty the contents and get the feel for them.
This will be forth month next time and I have still got tampons left but haven't felt the need to use one instead at all.
Thet also last years too, I'm told.

Another fan here! I've been using mine for well over a year, and would never go back to tampons. So much more convenient.

Fantastic, have used it for 2 cycles now and it's great - took a bit of getting used to first time round, but I don't think I'd go back to anything else.

I've been using mine for about 8 months. Easy to use, more reliable, better for the environment & cheap! What more could you want?

I've got one and used it once but then I couldn't get it out and panicked. I was trying to get it out for nearly 40 mins and I was quite scared, plus it really hurt everytime I pulled on it.

I just couldn't break the airlock even by trying to get under one edge or squeeze it.

Maybe I should give it another go when I've got a more normal cycle

You need to get under it and press the cup in to break the seal. I find it easier by pinching the sides in as I pull.

Sorry for the graphics there people.
Good luck for next time anyhow.

I think I might have to get one at the end of the month!

It would save me a lot of money as I have very heavy periods!

I've been wondering about these too, is it confortable and safe to wear them during the night? Is it necessary to buy more than one?

Mine is really comfy and wore through the night last night with no problems and no knickers on! I don't think there's any risk to you, although if you suffer from horrendously heavy periods you might not last all night (although mine are pretty heavy and I can easily go all night or all day at work without leakage).

I've only got one - don't see why you'd need another unless you're planning on dropping it down the loo!

I'll definitely give it another go when my body has settled down again.

Can I ask, do you all clean them by boiling? I know some people put them in the dishwasher but DH was horrified by that thought!

Comfortable - you can't tell you're wearing it! Some people choose to trim the stem, alhough I didn't need to.

Safe - more reliable than a tampon I've found. I can confidently wear it all day without emptying if I want to. I've never had a problem over night either, but if you're really heavy or not sure to start with you could use a panty liner or towel too (until you're more confident).

You only have to buy one.

Cleaning - I boil mine in a saucepan on te hob. I only do it juse before my af is due & at the end. Between that you just rinse it in water

I don't wear mine at night as I have leaked at night. I do suffer with really heavy periods though. During the day I will empty mine several times because again I am heavy. I wear a panty liner when using the mooncup, just in case, I do not leak during the day. You can start of by emptying your cup as many times to get to know how much blood loss you experience and know how long you can go without emptying in the future.
I have found that my days of bleeding are only last three days now instead of the usual 5 or 6.
I also like the fact you don't have string dangling down and being soiled by other bodily functions.:happyno:
Also it's easier to remove I find as tampons can sometimes be too dry, especially at the end of the period.

I had one, but I found it leaked. I had the model A, as I have given birth. Could it be that I'm too slack after 2 children??

I really wanted it to work, as I do hate tampoons, anyone else had this problem?

Yeah, I found this as well, so I always end up using pads the last couple of days, so all in, I'm waisting a lot in 3-4 different products!

Thanks for the info girls! I've order mine, and see how it goes! I'm seriously sick of tampons and pads, and after having an accident at work this week I'm definitely ready for a change!

Another user and big fan here :thumb: They do take a little bit of getting used to but are so worth.

I used to suffer regularly from thrush but since changing to using the Mooncup have had no attacks - makes sense really considering the environment created by tampons

I used mine for the first time last month and think it's great. Needed to trim the stem a bit though, as it was *ouch* with it full-length.
