Well Lu has turned into a right chimp and wants to climb on everything. BUT... not only does she want to climb she wants to throw herself off what she climbs on. So far this morning she has climbed onto the sofa 4 times and jumped off the arm before i could grab her  climbed up onto her wooden toy box and jumped off that once and fell off it twice  tried to climb over the safety gate into the kitchen (even my legs aren't long enough to climb over it  so how she thought she'd manage it i don't know)
She is covered from head to toe in bruises/scratches etc and looks like a beaten child :( I keep telling her no, and that she shouldn't climb because its dangerous but she obviously thinks that is all part of the game and actually means "next time climb up higher and jump harder"
Any idea what i can do?? My lounge is already bare since Lu has been mobile, we used to have shelves, coffee tables etc, now we just have 2 sofas the tv and her toys and literally NOTHING else :( Short of taking the sofas out and us sitting on the floor i don't know how else to stop her.

No help sorry but just wanted to say what a little daredevil she sounds, Eliza is far too wimpy to throw herself off anything :laff: :laff:

I think by climbing on things it's the only way they learn. I don't think when you tell them it's dangerous they will take your word for it. Z ended up in A&E a couple of times with bumps on the head. I watched him as much as I could but the second my back was turned

Thats what i'm worried about AG! My little sister who is now 6, well we've lost count of the number of times she was in A&E for jumping off something. The 1st time was when she was around Lu's age, she climbed onto the bar of her cot  and jumped off, my Mum was drying her hair and could see her in the mirror, she jumped up to save her but it was too late :( She broke her collar bone :( I'm petrified Lu will do the same sort of thing.
She is very daring yes Adele. She has NO fear whatsoever, which i first found out about when DH first came along to the park with us and practically swung her over the bars on the swings  I told him, she isn't that interested in the swings. Turns out i wasn't pushing hard/fast enough for her to enjoy it :o

last wk at my moms Jack emptied out all the toys in his toy box, turned it over climbed on it and sat on it (which was fine) but he fell off backwards onto a plastic toy skittle.........the skittle broke and 2 pieces of plastic got stuck in his head and i had to pull them out, it wasnt serious but could have been.
all those skittles are in the bin now

Oh dear SheDevil i hope he is ok!!
Tonight when Lu was in the bath i noticed she has a huge scratch under her chin  I've no idea which incident caused it as she has fallen over so many times today. She has been in a very silly mood all day, throwing herself round the room and into things
She did fall off her toy box this morning and its wooden so it could have been that, i can't think of anything else she'd have injured herself like that on!
DH came home from work as she was in the bath and he came upstairs. As i was getting her out he commented on how brown her legs were, and said "i thought you said she didn't catch any sun on holiday" then he realised that it was in fact bruises, not tan   that made her wee legs look so dark :-(
