I'm toying with the idea of one but they seem very expensive, even on ebay, for something they only use for a while.

Are they worth it?

Mine was FAB for about 2 weeks before it lost it's novelty & she could get out of it.

I wouldn't bother.

Elena loved hers & it meant I could plonk her in the same room as I was in if I wanted to cook/wash up/shower etc. It only really worked from 3-5/6 months, though as she started climbing out at about 5 months.

They seem to be one of those items - people either swear by them or hate them.

Me either. She never ended up sitting in it and then learnt how to climb out of it. Plus she got too big for it very quickly

I have one that I got on Ebay for Jacob but he never liked it, if you want to buy it off me for, say a tenner, then you're more than welcome, we're moving house so would be glad to get rid!!!!

I bought two! A waste of £60. I sold one on netmums for £20 and still have the other in its box in the garage, I must get round to selling it one day.

Not worth it, imo.

just given our away as it lasted less than 2 weeks - then just sat in the loft

DD1 brilliant invaluable used it for every meal ace! other people couldn't even get their LO's to sit in it.

My advice would be to try out a friend's if you can, ot even just try in Mothercare and see how you go.

The plus side is that they have good resale value on ebay.

Struan hated it, Catherine loves it. They do seem to love them or hate them but on the bright side they go for good money on ebay so they're easy to move on

No from me. Tried it out in the shop and he seemed to love it, but not when we'd parted with our cash and got it home. See if you can borrow one to try first.

If you ever get over to T'bridge you're welcome to have/borrow or just try mine. Harry loved it but worked out how to escape after only about a 6 weeks of use so it became redundant fairly quickly

Laurasaurus, I would be really interested!

I understand what everyone says but Zach is 5 months and not even rolling and is getting fed up just lying there - especially with a big brother.

If it only lasts a while it can't be worse than the door bouncer!

We borrowed one from a friend but I wouldn't pay for one I don't think. She was fine in it for a while and we've only recently stopped using it (only gave her breakfast in it by then anyway) - I don't think she would have tolerated being stuck in it while I cleaned up or anything so I only ever put her in it to feed her. I think they're very expensive for what they are, even though she was quite happy in it for a while.

Eve wasn't bothered about hers. It's on ebay now.

I had 1 for alfie got it at 15 weeks and sold it at 7 months as he hated it, he hated being in it & would arch his back and go mad wanting to get out

Some babies like it - others dont

Yes, one they're mobile they don't tend to like being in there long. You can't really blame them, though. We used ours mainly before Elena was able to sit up comfortably on her own.

It sounds like it might be a good thing to get now, although at 5 minths I wouldn't expect it to last too long. If you can borrow one or get hold of a cheap one I'd say go for it & see what he thinks. They tend to hold their value really well (ie on ebay) so if it doesn't last for long you won't loose out too much.

One thing to remember is that they're only really supposed to stay in them 10 mins or so at a time.

My DD will sit in hers for a wee while. She's nearly 6 months now though and is constantly trying to lift her bum up to get out of it so I'm scared to leave her in it if I need to go out of the room at all. I would say try one out if you can if a friend has one maybe? Or ebay, definately.

My LO could wriggle out of it, so was completely useless to me.

It worked well for a while as we used it as a portable highchair if we were going to friends etc.

I lent it to my friend and she barely used it as her LO worked out how to get out of it really quickly !

WSS. I love it actually and wish I'd got one for DD. Toby is very happy in it and it's incredibly useful for mealtimes.

mia used to sit in hers, but used to get her legs stuck. When i tried to get her out, the bumbo came with her. We lent ours to a friend, and will see how Holly goes with hers.

Thanks! Laurasaurus is verr kindly selling hers to me so we going to give it a go. My BF is 8 months PG so if he doesn't get on with it I know it will go to a good home.
