Never thought I'd actually buy one (as to be honest, I don't think they look that appetising and I thought they were maybe a bit of a fire hazard - yes :loco:  ) but on Friday, I got a Roast in the Bag butter basted chicken from Tesco's and it was DIVINE!!!

They're on special offer at the moment so only £2.99 (although they're only £3.99 anyway) and SO SO easy with no mess whatsoever.

And I can honestly say that it's the nicest roast chicken that I've ever had. :cheer2:

Clearly not organic and I didn't look at the ingredients, probably pumped with water and stuff, but hey, who cares when it tastes that good and you don't eat it every day!!

It had a proper *Buttery* taste to it - and was the most tender and moist chicken ever.

DH was absolutel gobsmacked (he had looked horrified when I told him what I'd bought  ) but has said that we should always get them as roast chickens!!

Obviously the skin doesn't go crispy but imho that's just better for the waistline as you don't hoover it (or is that just me?? )

They also had a lemon and garlic one (I think it was that - maybe lemon and herbs) which I shall be trying as well.

We had it with caesar salad on Friday night and I had some with mayonnaise in a roll yesterday for my lunch. (plus I have some more for a sarnie today so definitely definitely worth the money!!!)

Just thought I'd share!!

We have these occasionally and they are almost too moist for me, it makes me very suspicious for some reason

ETA: i am still talking about chicken btw, not posting on the wrong thread about a sex related subject

I go one step further and buy the chickens from the rotisserie bit. Already done and cheaper than buying it raw I think.

Obviously I do it myself occasionally, but the ready cooked version is great for salads, sandwiches, stir-fry etc.

Will look for the roast in the bag one next time.

I must confess to buying and thoroughly enjoying these too.

Dh was  , but even he admitted to liking them.

I've had the rotisserie chickens a couple of times and have always found them a tad salty :puzzled: (but yes I am bonkers!!)

Just to clarify this is one that you just bung in the oven yourself for an hour and ten and it's done!!

Fantassee it WAS very moist, hence I didn't bother reading what was in it as I didn't want to know  (v hot hot hot day, v knackered and pregnant, fridges had broken in Tesco and they had no precooked chicken so was desperate for something uber easy!!!)

We are a suspicious bunch aren't we , anything that tastes nice and we automatically think it must be full of naughties.

I am currently scoffing king prawns with a sweet chilli dip and some salad..yum yum yum
