Kyle is having a Yogabugs Party for his 4th Birthday and the theme is Farm.

Looking for ideas for party food and for the cake.

I'm planning on getting these PARTY BOXES (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PARTY-BOXES-Farm-designs-Assorted-pack-of-10_W0QQitemZ4468976291QQcategoryZ1275QQrdZ1QQcmdZV iewItem) and the food will go into them along with a carton of juice. Then at the end I'll also use them as party bags - does that sound OK? or will the food make them manky?

So what to put into the boxes? And how to make it a farm these - any ideas? I thought this COOKIE CUTTER (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8292676228&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1) could be good for sandwiches or cookies. Or parhaps they could get a cookie to take home in the party bag/box?

ANy what about a cake? I've never made a birthday cake before! I guess it would need to be a tractor - I've seen these CANDLES (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8227151664&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1) and also these CANDLES (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-FARM-ANIMAL-CANDLES_W0QQitemZ9510243553QQcategoryZ26384QQssPag eNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Thanks Katy! Thats exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for - I could even make them myself and use those percy pigs you get at M&S. :thumb:

Oooh how much fun! My first thought was a cow cake - don't ask me why! of course the easiest thing to do would be a pretend big pile of manure, but I'm guessing that's not the kind of effect you were after? :teehee:

love the boxes, but let me have a think on other ideas and get back to you.

ps does it have to be a carton of juice, cos those mini cartons with a freesian pattern on them are really funky and fit the theme.

cartons of milk, that is. but I'm guessing the freesian bit gave that away!

My Godmother used to do nests made of chocolate covered shredded wheat (split up into strands) with a dip in the middle and then put cadburys mini eggs in the middle. Then she put some of these chickens around the cakes:

You could always use cornflakes or rice crispies though, it would still work.

You could always do a normal square cake and ice the top with green rough icing to look like grass and then make a fence out of twiglets or chocolate matchsticks (or you could use a plastic fence from toy farm set). You could do a patch of blue icing for a duckpond and then put plastic farm animals - cows and sheep all over the grass.

ooh I want to do this now!!
