View Full Version : Am I the only wuss that always regrets going out?
Went out last night - very nice - with the girls - hardly wild - I had 1/2 glass of wine and was home and in bed by 11:10....
But I always regret it the next day when toddlerworld reality hits. Also I normally am asleep by 10:30 and so didn't settle well last night and the neighbour put her pigging radio on at 5:45!!!!!
I love going out in theory - but maybe I am just getting old :-( Guess I can blame pregnancy!
What happened to my 20-something self who could party all night???!!!!
Is it just me?

I don't even have the inclination to go out anymore! Except if it is with my OH - how sad is that!
We had a girls night out planned last Friday which I had been looking forward to, but when it came round to it I was too ill to go and I have to be honest I dont feel like I missed out on anything. They all got completed bladdered, which I wouldnt have done anything because I dont drink now anyway.
I love going out with my OH for a nice meal which we are lucky to be able to do most weeks still but as for going out with mates and having a drink etc, I am not interested, I would rather stay in with my family!

It depends if my DH is around the next day to share the load!!
I've been away for the weekend with the choirs I sing with and didnt' get to bed until very late on Friday and Sunday and felt pretty awful on Saturday and Monday and knew I wasn't being the nicest to DS. I had to concede defeat on Saturday night and was in bed by 11pm and didn't even have one glass of wine.
I think you consider it more when you know you have to entertain a small person the next day and there is nothing worse than feeling awful when you do this.

I don't go out so no i don't really know how you feel. We have been to a wedding when Lu was about 5 months but i don't drink anyhoo so it never really affects me in that way.
TBH i don't want to go out much nowadays, never did before i was pg tbh, plus i can never get myself to look nice enough so i don't bother anymore!
DH goes out regulary, and drinks heavily when he does, he ALWAYS regrets it the next day but then thats HIS fault  and he doesn't have to deal with Lu either

Before i met DH i was going out clubbing every sat and my mom would have bethany overnight for me.
Since i met DH i would rather go out for a meal with him and spend the following day with my family rather than recovering from the night before like i used to.
It makes me feel really old sometimes

Thanks for reminding me!!!!
Loving your use of smilies!
Actually, following a morning at the craft cafe getting E to stick things mainly on paper, and a long walk in the sun which appears to have worn DD out I am hopeful of surviving - only 20 mins til nap....
Yep I anticipate another year of NO SLEEP with number 2 who already parties all night
I may just attempt to get a babysitter and go out with DH next week - at least he too wants to be home by 10 - oh happy days when I lived in France and that was the time I went out!!!!!
On balance maybe going out whilst I can is a good thing - sort of connects me with the real world...a bit....

pmsl redhed - capturing the essence of the um, something as always! :laff:
call me an old fart, but i am sooo not bothered about going out these days. my favourite night in is a nice meal (cooked by mr backson obviously) followed by snuggling up and watching a dvd whilst eating something bad for me, or damsing then going to bed and reading my book.
these days i have to force myself to accept invitations, not least due to extra cost of babysitter on top of whatever we do, plus i just hate being away from splashy even if he is asleep!
i am looking forward to going out as a family in a few years time, even though that will mean things like 5pm dinners at restaurants and home by 7.30 - i would much rather do that than go out go out if you knwo what i mean!

I go out with work...I do kitchen show parties, so am working but feel like I'm socialising at the same time. But that's it. I don't go out otherwise, in fact OH and I go on a date once every 6 months it seems and that's the extent of it!

Ooohhhh no     The thought of a hangover and Eliza just do not mix (obviously this is all hypothetical at the moment given my pregnant state :) ) but the only times I have hit the :winered: :winered: is when Miss E has been staying over at my mums and I know I am guaranteed a lie in, which has only been a few times!!

We went out the other week with Nanny babysitting. I had far too many vodkas. Got home around 1am and felt like death at Amy's 3am feed... Next time we go out the girls are going to stay over at Nannys.

I am sooo lucky now in that I have a night out downstairs whenever I want one! (For those who don't know, my DH runs a pub & we live above)
But I don't choose to go down very often as I'm sure it would be too easy to turn into a raging alchoholic! I have had a few "proper" nights out & LOVE getting away but I couldn't do a late night knowing I have to be up early etc. Funnily enough the amount I drink doesn't bother me. I can deal with a hangover & J, just not a hangover + knackered + J!
Also loving you smiley useage RH :wik:

I have a night out on Friday with some of the girlies from work but can't decide whether to drink or drive. DH is babysitting and he'll be off to work about 6 / 7am on the Saturday morning so i'll need to get up when Ryan wakes and hate having a hangover. On the other hand I would like a little drinkie, haven't had one for ages :winered: and wouldn't mind a little :bellydance: :boobies: which wouldn't be nearly as much fun if I was driving.
If the kids were staying at Mums it'd be ok but when I know i'll need to get up and deal with them i'm not so keen on going out.
