I'm in a bad mood this morning. I got a text from my friend at 5.45 approx, and I didn't go to bed until gone midnight. I don't know why she has to do that. She does this regularly. I don't switch my phone off at night in case somebody needs to contact me in an emergency. This was NOT an emergency, it was to find out who I booked a holiday cottage through
I sent one back saying "Please don't contact me at anti-social hours unless urgent. I need my sleep and I don't like having LO woken up". It won't have any effect, I've said that before and she keeps doing it.
I was going to start putting my phone off, but I don't see why I should have to. I will be in a bad mood all morning now and what's worse is that she knows I am not up at that time. She is a very inconsiderate and thoughtless person in every way and this is just one example.
Rant over!

GAH! How annoying! I still get drunken friends texting me at 3am sometimes. I turn the sound off when I go to bed though so it doesn't wake me but when I've set my alarm to wake me up I have to leave the sound on. I keep telling them but it keeps happening. But at least they can use the excuse that they are drunk.
Does your LO still wake at silly am?? I'd be sending a few texts while I do the middle of the night feeds.

grrrrrr on your behalf, it's just a lack of respect surely, why would anyone do that if they know you don't like it?

How annoying. I leave my phone in another room so I can hear it if it rings but not if I get a text.

No, she'd sleep all night and all day given the chance  I still got the texts when I had a tiny newborn:no:
I SO want he to have a baby so I can text her at all hours and see how she likes it but that's never going to happen!
I know I'm being petty but I'm not telling her about the cottage because as a mum I know not to reward bad behaviour  . When I get back I might tell her it was the best cottage in the world!

You could turn off the text alert sound at night, but keep the ringer on in case of emergencies.
It's very annoying though. Mind you some networks take ages to send texts, Virgin are particularly bad for this.

Yes, some of mine take 3hrs to arrive and wake me at 1am. :hissyfit: No point in beong cross with whoever texted as it's not their fault.

i would just not reply, hopefully she will stop sending them if theres no point.
I used to phone the first person on my phone (my brother Aiden) by accident in my pocket, so i added another name and number which is "A" and "###". so if you do press the wrong button by accident you dont actually call anyone.

Know how you feel, some stupid cow rang our house at 1.15am asking for 'Michael' wrong bloody number, i just wish I had been more awake then she would have got a mouthful instead of the 'wrong number' half asleep response:no:

I remember someone ringing me with a wrong number at about 2.30 in the morning, when I was on a night away with a friend. I never forgot her amazement that I could just spring awake and say "Hello". I told her that the was the difference between a mother and a non mother!

I wish people would save our home number on their mobiles with my OH's name first - he's a S
I never know where my mobile is so I couldn't answer it if it did ring
