I'm going insane!

My left eye is so itchy in the inside corner, I can't stop rubbing it, which in turn makes it worse

Am going to try some calming eye drops, but I've never had this before. Can't be hayfever, surely, as the other one would be itchy too?

Any suggestions?

Minky xx

PS has RUINED my mascara! :brainache:

I would take an antihistimine to see if that helps... and buy waterproof mascara!

I get this from time to time in hayfever season, it's as if I've rubbed pollen into my eye or something (?) but an antihistamine usually sorts it out.
It is very, very annoying!!!

Well I am sitting here with my eyes streaming today (left one is loads worse) and the only thing that I can put it down to is hayfever.

So have just taken a piriton and apart from needing a couple of hours nap now  (am I the only person they make really drowsy?? I know it says "may cause drowsiness" but I always feel like I need a whole night's sleep!!) my eyes certainly feel loads better.

Hope it doesn't bother you too much hon - I'm presuming you've checked to see if there's any stray lash or bit of mascara in there???

Or is it a different sort of itch (if that makes sense??!! I can always really tell an allergic itch as opposed to an irritated itch!)

I can bring some piriton tomorrow if you haven't got any?

I know antihistamine is much easier an option when your eeys are sore etc, but really it just pushes the problem further in, 's really only temporary relief. I have this problem with severe hayefevr and I've started taking alternative remedies, including acupuncture and Ireally say it it helps ALOT. have you considered that katkinn?

I had this and it turned out to be conjunctivitis. It was only 1 eye to start with, and then the other eye started. The more I rubbed them, the sorer and itchier they got.
Get yourself down to the doctor's, Minky, if it still itches tomorrow!
