Anyone got one?

Do they work OK?

Any smells?

ARe they difficult to dig in?

I know that SkerryBerry from HB has one. I remember her saying that it was quite a bit more digging than they anticipated, but once it's in, it's in.

Don't know anything else sorry, you could try pming her.

Yep we have one. And yes it does need a LOT of digging! And buy some chuckies (gravel chips) to put in the bottom of the hole. Works pretty well in the Summer, not so good in the Winter (like all compost heaps I guess) and is best placed in a sunny spot. You can buy "excelarator" from Green Cone to help things when it's colder, but I have just been buying compost accelarator from B&Q and it seems to work fine. Never had any smells with ours. What we did have were some larvae around the lid, so I scalded it with boiling water. You can put meat into it, but I have never tried that, just the things I can't put into the wormery such as onions skins, orange peelings etc.

We got ours from Aberdeen City for £5, I think. I'm sure the 'shire will have a similar scheme.
