Did anyone else have really bad dreams during pregnancy?

I have been getting 3 recurring nightmares... the first is crashing my car and my losing my baby and having to give birth to it. It's a girl and her face is really clear and I have her funeral and everything. This one scares me the most as it seems so real and I wake in tears. I have this most nights :-(

The second isn't as bad but I fall down my stairs with the baby in my arms and kill it, its a boy this time but I dont see his face and it doesnt seem as real as the first one. I have dream this not so often. I still wake in tears with it.

The third I have had 4 times now, but not since I last heard from my ex over a week ago. I'm at his funeral, and go into labour there and then and give birth to a daughter. Only his mum is there with me and although its not scary, it makes me wake in tears.

I have always remembered my dreams and they are always really clear. These three are the only dreams I have now. I can never sleep after I have them either.

Does anyone know what they mean? How can I stop dreaming them (if thats possible?) the first one is really disturbing :-(

Hi Jamtart,

Really sorry to hear about the dreams.

I have had similar, but not recurring ones, in both pregnancies, and a lot of people I know have experienced the same.

I think it is to do with having fears about the welfare of the baby, ability to look after it etc etc. Plus you have all the other issues going on in your life which are probably making your subconscious work overtime.

I think with me it was a phase at about your stage, so hopefully it will be something that will pass :fingerscrossed: Now I don't sleep long enough in one go to have dreams I don't think

Maybe try doing something relaxing before going to sleep so that your brain has switched off a bit.

I really hope they stop,

Sparkliness xx
