I cant answer on the depression front carrie as I havent suffered it, but I can tell you that I went on the pill once and once only because it turned me into the pyscho bitch from hell!!
I do think though that theres a difference between being depressed for no reason and depressed because youve had a tough time of it recently and you have havent you, maybe you just need to give yourself time to get over the past few months.

You have been going through a hell of a lot lately, so it's not surprising you are down. Lack of sleep won't be helping you either. Everything seems so much worse when you don't get much sleep.
I don't really know what to suggest, apart from try and sleep when you can, and see the doctor for a chat.
Do you live in a Sure Start area? If so, you might be able to get practical support from a family health worker. I have one and she's great. Do you have family/friends who could look after Amy for a couple of hours whilst you catch up on some sleep?

You have had an awful lot of stuff going on just recently and certainly lack of sleep isn't helping the matter.
I'd go and have a word with your doc, just to make sure that you are not suffering from PND.
I hope things soon start picking up for you.x

I would second what the others have said. Get your self to the Doctors or speak to your Health Visitor to make sure you don't have PND.
I took a while to admit to anyone that I wasn't coping, but can honestly say that I feel much better that I have been diagnosed with PND iyswim and that I am getting some support!
It is hard for everyone with a new baby, so the fact that you have 3 children, I think means you are coping fine, just need a bit of support.

hi carrie,
there are some online tests you can do to give an indication of whether its likely to be depression or not - sorry i haven't got any links but they would probably come up on a search.
the tests are not a diagnosis but can help you distinguish between depression and general feeling down.
although its best to go to a doctor and not try and self diagnose.
hope you can sort things out

aw carrie I have only just seen this :higgies:
I have no idea if you have depression, but you have had a rough time of it lately! I agree you should chat to your GP or HV to see if its PND!
You have been a fantastic support to me, even with everything going on in your life, so please talk to me if you need to... I will be here for you just as much as you have been for me! :higgies:
