, I know a couple of you mentioned that it was really sweet.

I just wondered if you used Carnation Light condensed milk, rather than evaporated milk.

Abject apologies if this is the most stoopid question since time began, but last night, took a can of Carnation Light from the cupboard, didn't think twice, bunged it in the measuring jug and nearly barfed as it was essentially custard :happyno: (in normal respects probably v nice but NOT for the risotto!!)

BUT it just said Carnation Light in huge letters (and condensed milk in v small letters)

Bombed to the shop and picked up CArnation light (again huge letters) but this time evaporated milk (again in tiny letters! )

I didn't even know there was a difference between the two

SO I just wondered if anyone else had maybe used the wrong Carnation Light (which is essentially what the recipe says in the main) which is perhaps why they thought it was too sweet?? (and BOY would it have been!!!!)

But if it's just that you think it's a shite recipe fair enough!!

Am going to try the leftovers on H for lunch today to see what she thinks!!! (she won't normally eat rice so I'm not holding my breath!!!)

 eek!!!! That would be an easy mistake to make!

I made it with normal full fat milk as I am not too keen on very creamy things and it was lovely.

I used soya cream (which is not that sweet - certainally nothing like condensed milk) and it still minged. Mind you, pretty much everything you make with soya cream mings, it is not nice stuff.
