View Full Version : What foods do you really dislike?
For me it has to be
Cauliflower and
Fat and gristly bits on meat.
I'm not too keen on liver either but the first two make me feel sick just thinking about eating them and give me the shivers.

Melon, they make me want to:vom: to say i hate the sight, smell and taste of them is an understatement. They should be banned for being generally filthy fruit.

Fat and gristly bits on meat
ooh I LOVE fat on meat    Can't say I'm a massive fan of gristle though!
mmm for me:
baked beans
picked beetroot
actually any beans (ie broad beans, kidney beans etc) apart from green beans which don't really taste like beans imho.
heart and kidney
overcooked liver (ie grey leather stuff - v rare calf's liver is divine )
fennel
chicory
plum tomatoes straight from the tin (a la canteen breakfast  )
just tomatoes on their own (I can eat them with things ie other salad things and dressing or in a sandwich with other things but couldn't bite into a tomato or put a whole cherry tomato in my mouth. :loco: I appreciate!!!)
tripe
mmm I can't think of anything else although I'm sure there are things. There are certainly other things that I don't like but these are probably the only things I couldn't actually put in my mouth.
Goats cheese
Liver
Marmite
Fennel

I like everything apart from tripe, chicken's feet and jellyfish (got made to eat them in Hong Kong once). Jellyfish tastes of burnt tyres and has a similar texture.
I'll happily eat liver, kidney etc. I haven't had heart or lungs and don't think I'd fancy them.

Liver - we were force fed this at junior school and I still shudder at the sight of it BUT Katkinn has got a point about very very good quality liver cooked properly. We were at an expensive restaurant and my OH had it and I tried some (only because I was drunk!) and it was DIVINE. I never thought I'd admit that but it was - nothing at all like school liver.
Jaffa Cakes - don't even go there. Ewwwwwww WRONG WRONG WRONG.
Angel Delight - DELIGHT!? Are you having a laugh!? I remember a biology lesson where they inflated a pair of pigs lungs and all this pale pink foam fluffed out of them. It looked EXACTLY like Angel Delight (and probably tasted better :teehee: ).
Tinned Ravioli - how could anyone eat that?
Tinned plum tomatoes on a plate like Katkinn said - WHY are those included in some fried breakfasts!? Yuck. Also I could never bite into a tomato. It makes me shudder to think of the juice jetting down my throat.
Fat/gristle in meat.
Celery - one tiny piece in a salad and the whole thing is tainted and RUINED.
Walnuts - are you guessing that Whadorf Salad is my idea of hell on a plate??
Sprouts - mini packages of evil bile.
Hmm, that's it for now. I actually love most foods (all fish, seafood, fruits, pickled things etc) but the ones I don't like I REALLY don't like.

I don't do offal, although I do eat liver in pate.
I don't like:
raw tomatoes
uncooked cheese
goats/sheep's cheese in any form
marmite
shepherd's pie (I don't know why:puzzled: )
Not really fond of cucumber but will eat mixed in.
Uncooked olives
caviar
meringues
coconut

Apart from the unpopular liver steak and offal (BUT I LOVE foie gras, not pate, I mean the liver sliced and pan fried) I am amazed at some of your choices.
I love raw tomatoes. If they are nice and ripe I can eat them like you eat and apple, sprinkling salt in the inside. I love celery dipped in hummus or in a waldorf salad. I love walnuts, olives, coconut, sprouts OOOOh I Love sprouts, is there anything more lush than Black chocolate????? Melon! Watermelon! They mean summer!!!. And caviar, I love the cheap caviar (and the one made from anchovy eggs) mixed with onions and cream to make a pasta sauce! This is how I *seduced* Husband the first time I cooked for him!. Pickled beetroots are such a treat!!!!!!! yum yum
You are all insane!
Having said that:
I can't stand mince that hasn't been mixed thouroughly before coking and that floats inside a pie or on top of spaghetti in little wormlike shapes.
Overcooked thick spaghetti. Cut them short as from a tin and I'llbe heaving
Overboiled carrots/beans/brocoli when it starts looking grey (a la my old office catering thing)
Chicken skin. All that soggy fat!
Meringue and coca cola. Acually I can only drnk coke if it's virtually frozen otherwise the sweetness makes my teeth feel funny.
Pot noodle. I must have had these once and I have to say, not keen on the glutamato monosodico flavour (sorry, dont know how to say it in english)
Some very strongly flavoured sausages like venison ones. Not keen either.
Baked beans. Too sweet
Oh and I am not keen on ketchup either, we are mustard people in this house.
Actually I sound pretty insane too!
