I have been getting this since January and now the dutch authorities are saying as I am not working over here and Ex is working over in NL then the dutch authorities have to pay it and the UK make up the difference if there is any.

Basically this means I have no right to it and W does as he is the one working. Over there you don't get it if you are not working. But the Inland Revenue contacted NL and then started paying me the money so I know something is going to get cocked up big style and I am going to be out of pocket.

The dutch guy said I can only claim my own child benefit rights when I started working or if I get married again. I tried to explain that its not linked to work over here but he insisted that Ex has to apply for it.

I have no idea if he will give this to me as well as the maintainence but I have a horrible sinking feeling that he might try to include it INTO the maintainence.

I just wish he would crawl out of my life he is not giving me enough space to get over this and sometimes it just gets too much for me.

Why would the Inland Revenue pay me money they didn't need to tho?
God I can just see myself be questioned for benefit fraud or something.

I keep thinking I have things sorted and that I am getting somewhere and I just get another kick in the teeth.

I hate that fecking country and its out of date attitude to everything being fecking linked to the man.

I am so angry I want to cry but I can't and so my eyes are just burning instead.
If I try to explain this to my family they will go mental.

I am now going to have to go back to the solicitor and pay him more money so that he will write a letter which we both sign saying I can get the childbenefit payments from NL which are fecking quarterly......more fecking feckity feck hassle.

Sorry for the bad language I just feel a bit like this after the conversation on the phone   :puzzled: :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit:     and a bit more :puzzled: :puzzled: and some extra :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit:

I am really sorry to hear this :higgies: , I thought it was available to all children who are resident, regardless of working. I hope you get it sorted.

I think the best thing to do is make a call to the Citizen's Advice Andie and make an appointment to go in and speak to someone. It's free and confidential and hopefully they can fathom out what's going on and what you should be entitled to.

I hate the Inland Revenue/Tax Credits and I'd really hate to see you get messed about and end up owing them money.

If they pay anything into your bank please don't touch it until you've had it verified that you are definately entitled to it.

I really hope someone can sort this out for you honey :higgies:

See sadly I have been spending it to buy things for the house. Only saving grace will be that I would probably only have to pay half of it back again.

I just NL authorities would just leave me the feck alone to get on with things.

I have the kids not W so I should be able to apply for what I need to over here without their input. Plus the fact that he won't have to give me the money is worrying me a little as I know the money would come in might handy for him.

There is no one I can talk to in my family as they will all go mental so I think I will call CAB and see if they can help me.

What a PITA Andie :higgies: I don't understand why you can't claim the normal child benefit that all parents in UK get as you and the children are resident here! Maybe try to make an appointment and speak to someone at your local benefits office.
