Has anyone ever tried Second Life? I read about it in a magazine today and am just exploring it.

I tried it once and I lasted about 5 mins before I got bored because I couldn't work the stupid thing out and my character kept ending up in a lake :puzzled:

Second Life is HUGE! It's like a virtual world but people actually run businesses there. I read an article recently about the first Second Life millionaire - basically someone had become a real life millionaire from the business he'd set up on Second Life.

i read about it too, and then i read in the same mag abit after that because of the intrest in SL because of the mag they people on there have set up virtual terroist groups to get rid of the 'new' people!

Ive had a look but seems too complicated for me :lol:

I've heard a fair bit about it but haven't checked it out myself. I have far too much to distract me from doing something productive as it is, the last thing I need is to get addicted to second life :happyno:

I read about this in first magazine last night so registered and downloaded but I can't get it to work.

It gets to the bit where I'm about to "play" or whatever you do and then crashes. On my main pc it says something to do with the graphics card but on my laptop it's not giving me any clues why.

I really wanted to see what it was about so if anyone has any ideas what I'm doing wrong or what I can do to fix it, can you let me know:grin:

Apparently it's very addictive and as I have a whole 48 hours to myself this weekend I could do with something to keep me amused

Yep, was in it for over a year, It can take over your life, trust me.
Took a job as a dancer, to earn money, too buy nice things..... You find yourself going,, I've got to get home as need to be at my job.......and its virtually lol or I was part of a clan, a princess in a vampire clan and you have to attend meetings etc etc.
I was one to not take it to serious and like to mess about with peoples avatars, make them fart etc, I was a joker, and it can be a laugh, and you do get to meet people from all over the world.
Just be carefull as you can get addicted to it.
