I saw this too, surely though unless you're giving your child the FULL dosage of medicine EVERY day then there can't be THAT much risk???
I notice how they haven't mentioned which ONE doesn't contain all these banned additives etc.

TBH it doesn't surprise me, have you tasted Calpol? It is soooooo sweet yet sugar free, I assumed it was full of sweeteners, but when you've a screaming teething baby it's a calculated risk you take. Like PF says they have such small quantities it's not the same as food. The report is on additives that are banned in food, which is obviously ingested in far higher quantities :hungry:

Nope, doesn't surprise me that Calpol is full of sweeteners - I mean, I don't like the taste of paracetamol, imagine trying to give it to a baby without the strawberry flavouring!
Has anyone ever tasted paracetomal in the raw:zombie: :zombie: :zombie: Babies wouldnt take it without heavy flavourings and sweetners.

I have to say that I was absolutely outraged by this story, and am amazed that more people don't feel the same way! If you check out http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/03/10/nchems10.xml (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/03/10/nchems10.xml) there is a chart to show you exactly what brands have what in. I think Nurofen for Children comes out on top with just two E numbers, whereas Calpol has six or seven I think  I just can't believe they have got away with it for so long!!!
