I know this sounds really silly but it's really bothered me this afternoon. At work we have a patient each on the way home and usually people hand them out/just pick one, I'm not really bothered who I ever have as none of them are on my way home anyway. Yesterday someone laughed and said you have to get in quickly when the cards get handed out and get who you want, today I picked a card at random (first time in 2 months that I haven't just taken whoever I'm given) I started to sign it and my boss took it off me saying "that's not really fair is it? you haven't even asked anyone else, don't do that" Ok, she wasn't furious or anything but she did mean what she said. Yes she is strict and maybe people just do this normally when she isn't looking but I didn't realise. When she said that to me I went bright red and felt awful :oops: Is it just me that feels really awful when people tell them that they've done something wrong? I spend every minute at work trying to be fair/correct/do things right, I feel awful now. Please someone tell me that I'm being silly and that I don't need to feel like this. She seemed ok towards me by the time I went home but I've found her so hard to do things right for so far that I'm gutted that I made such a stupid mistake :no:

How come the others are allowed to choose and you aren't? That isn't fair either!

And yes I'm another who hates getting it wrong

I'm the same. I beat myself up for days afterwards and go over it in my head again and again :loco:

Probably because the boss isn't watching when they do it:rolleyes:
I'm glad I'm not the only one (well, I wish you all didn't have to go through it too though!) It's horrible isn't it? :higgies:

I hate it when I do something wrong - hate it, hate it. I spend ages brooding over it and going over everything in my mind and imagine all kinds of awful outcomes.

I'm sure it's not a biggie but when you're new in a job you just want to keep your nose clean - I know how that feels !

Hey Cm, I hate getting things wrong too and always spend ages beating myself up about it. I do think though that there are people who can intimidate you and make you feel crappy for getting things wrong whereas some people might point out the mistake but don't make you feel awful if they can say something constructive to help. Big :higgies: to you anyway xx

Ahhh yes, i absolutely hate doin things wrong and feel really bad when im shown up for doin sumthing wrong, i get all upset and angry and defensive with myself and then go all embarrassed and sulk lol, god i sound like a baby, but its jus cos i have this whole persona that i must keep up infront of ppl, that i dont do bad things and dont get told off and dnt upset people or am inconsiderate the list is endless. Im not the naughty mean one im ALWAYS the nice thoughtful sensible one, so i find it hard to accept when i do things wrong and find it reall affects me when i get told im doin it wrong.

God yeah, if my boss ever told me 'off' I'd go all red and try not to cry, then wait til I got on the bus home and cry all the way back until I picked Levi up from school:rolleyes:

I HATE doing anything wrong (mega perfectionist) and I CANNOT admit it if I am - OH says that's my worst personality trait. Unfortunately my whole family are the same - - - NIGHTMARE:happyno:

It's like being told off by the headteacher all over again. I spend ages thinking about it and about how stupid I must have looked etc.

Now I've got kids, I'm always told I'm doing EVERYTHING wrong though so have become less sensitive to it.
