Well I have been ill :zombie:

I think it was something I ate. I started with bloated & feeling sick on Weds night, then felt rough as anything yesterday when I woke up. Then had lots of stomach pain/bloating/strange noises and started with horrific diahorrea yesterday evening. Having to go every 20 mins or so, and even sips of water making my stomach go beserk.

My last trip was at 2.30am, and I've just dared eat a bagel, so fingers crossed that's the end of it.

I've had plenty of movement from the baby, I was just concerned in case I've poisoned it, although I suppose a GP isn't going to be able to tell me that.

Should I get checked over, or should I just mention it to the MW on Tuesday?

Thanks in advance,

Sparkliness xx

Ive had 5 bouts of horrendous diahorrea in the last 3 weeks and each time ive mentioned it to MW and last week I saw the gp. TBH,they didnt know what caused it, said it could be a bug, or position of your stomach etc.
Sometimes it can be a symptom of labour starting - body's way of clearing out IFYSWIM!
I would go to the gp to be on the safe side as they may want to send off a stool sample to be checked (yeah, nice I know ) but i have been told each time that aslong as you keep the water down and make sure you drink plenty of liquids to avoid dehydreation then the baby will be fine.
But i would def. go for piece of mind.
Feel for you, i know its rotten isnt it? :flowers:

I had a bout of this just like you describe recently. I had it a few times with E too - I went to GP's when pg with E but was told that although I would probably feel "more rotten than normal" the baby would be fine. Seeing as it was a one-off this time I haven't given it another thought - bad mummy bad mummy. If you are better now than personally I wouldn't worry too much. It could be a bug - but sometimes I've found this happens if something is too rich etc iyswim. I ate lots of starchy food when getting better.

Thanks girls.

Well I kind of thought the GP would just reassure me - they're that type, and although I do actually have another complaint I was going to go with, I have now missed the window to ring for a same-day appointment. The bagel hasn't reappeared  so I think I'll leave it til Tuesday and just mention it to the MW.

I feel so much better now, but last night I was at that point where I thought I was going to die - totally dramatic I know, but you forget how bad you can feel sometimes.

DH took Molly to nursery, so I'm still in my dressing gown, and if 7.30 am (with a small intermission to change Molly's dirty nappy) is a lie in, I've had one.

Hope everyone else is feeling OK,

I had gastroenteritis when I was about 23 weeks pregnant and they were concerned when I couldn't keep down water. The concern then is that you are getting dehydrated so I was admitted to hospital and put on a drip.

If you are feeling ok now and managing fluids then I wouldn't worry too much (easier said than done!)

Take it easy today
