DD will be 7 on the 22nd and ive got her a nintendo DS (PINK) for her b-day. I was just wondering if any of you guys have a child about that age with one, and if so what did they think of it????? DD didnt ask for one, i just thought that it would be nice for her  she wanted a digi makeover but its sold out everywhere, so shes gonna save her birthday money for one, and wait til they come in stock again!!!!!
Just wanted your views on it and to see what your child thinks of it!!!!!!

jake would give his right arm for 1  he often plays ryans and loves it and i know if i did get him one he would never be off it. he likes the touch screen and thinks it better playabilty then the psp, but the graphics are better on the psp, but thats my opinion not his. but 1 good thing is on the ds you can play most of the old gba games aswell so you can buy a few cheaper games or use the older ones if you have a gba.

My 7yr old DD got one for Xmas and loves it. She has Nintendogs and Brain Training and both games are great. Unless your DD hates games consoles she should love it:thumb:

My son loves it. Keeps him occupied and off my back.
Argos do a good deal on the games 2 for £30 from quite a good selection.
Also it plays game boy advance games, i didnt know this until i bought it
My only problem is that as DD is 6 they regularly fight over it as they are into the same things
Am contemplating whether I should get her one to save the stress :puzzled:

My DD is 8, she got one just after xmas (saved up for it herself). She chose a Pokemon game as part of the deal when she got the console, and DH bought her a Nintendogs game today (for no particular reason )

I have one and my 4 year old likes playing Mario on it (only the mini games) and Lego Star Wars. Not sure he really knows what he is doing but does it enjoy it once in a while.

My 7yr old has one and she's hooked on it! She plays Yoshi's Island, Bratz, Super Mario and Nintendogs.
The best bit about it is I can threaten her with losing it if she doesnt behave :teehee:

DD has one (look out for the pre owned games in shops like game as it works out much cheaper than the silly priced ones - obviously the new games arent going to be in there)
and as Goldilocks says its a brillient bargaining tool for good behaviour

my dd 9 bought her own, my three year old who isn't allowed to play on it goes gets it, hides behind the sofa, turns the volume down and plays for hours on it - i spent a fortune on educational toys and they want to play on DS.

In half term i was going in at midnight to check on them b4 i went to bed and she was still on it :faint: so its been banned now to after school play only, once shes had tea shes not allowed on it :teehee: otherwise she would never go to bed :teehee:

My niece (9) has one-and her brother (3!) kept taking it and hiding with it-to the extent that Granny bought him one of his own!!!!

Glad she likes it
We've banned it after tea too. If she plays on it in the evening she's too hyped up to sleep.
