Sebastian has got a tummy bug:no:  Poor little thing can't keep anything down, but he is really hungry and thirsty, so what should I do??

What should I feed him for tea tonight and what do I do about his bedtime bottle??

He seems alright and hasnt got a temperature, but he just keeps throwing up.

Have you tried giving him some plain toast or biscuits? I only say that because when I am ill that is about all I can keep down!

Hi Kiki
My lo had a horrible gastroenteritis bug last winter when she was about 9 months old. The advice we got at the time was to offer fluids little and often - I found if H took more than a couple of ounces it overloaded her tummy and it all came back up again. H refused to take anything other than water or milk at first and then she only ate tiny bits of toast, baby rice mixed with apple puree and Organix apple rice cakes for a few days.
On the milk front my GP advised giving her watered down milk (half strength) till she got a bit better but when we spoke to the consultant at the local children's hospital (she ended up in there for a day) he said the watered down milk thing was a bit of an old wives tale and that small amounts of milk wouldn't do any harm (she was refusing to drink the Dioralyte rehydration stuff they had given to her to drink).

Hope this helps.

Thomas has had this since Friday now and kindly passed it onto me and my OH who were up all night being sick on Sunday :zombie:

For the first couple of days we just gave him the rehydration liquid and some plain organix biscuits. When we've tried to move him onto proper food, albeit bland, he's been sick again, so we're back to small amounts of milk, rehydration solution (through a syringe because that's the only way he'll take it  ) and plain biscuits and toast. He's also managed to keep down those little organix cereal pots and some couscous (not together mind  ).

Hi Kiki,

this happened to Thomas a couple of weeks ago and Mrs bunny gave me the idea of the BRAT diet which worked fantastically!

Basically BRAT stands for banana, rice, apple & toast and for 3 days this is all Thomas had in any combination.
He didn't have any milk either just juice and water!

I hope Seb gets better soon, its horrible isn't it
