Hi

I was wondering when it is usual for a bump to descend? Sometimes when I walk it feels as if my girly bits are getting hit from the inside and it's really uncomfortable so was wondering if the baby has descended early or if it's normal to feel like this at 30 weeks? It was more sore than uncomfortable. Really felt as if I was being stabbed from the inside and even when I was sitting it was really uncomfortable. I'm not back at my GP's for another week so am wondering if i should make an appointment to make sure everything's ok or it's not a UTI?

It probably is just the positioning of the baby, rather than the head being engaged. I would mention it at your next midwife's appt, or give them a ring if it really doesn't feel right for any length of time.

My bubs has only just engaged with an obvious drop in bump about a week ago. I can remember getting all sorts of pains and stuff around that area, assume it was ligaments stretching and stuff.

My first baby was fully engaged at 31 weeks last time, this time i was told today that baby has at 34 weeks. Could well be baby moving down. I have feeling stabbing twingy pains from the inside too all week.

Hi everyone

thanks for the replies. Was at anti-natal class last night and mentioned it and my physio thinks my pains are SPD so just need to be careful with things. So at least I know what it is and why walking can be such a pain
