Had another crappy nights sleep. Isabel woke 5 times hysterical due to a cold and very bad teething pain, her temp is 38.5 still and when she was finally asleep I couldn't sleep due to either the newbie kicking me so much or my nose being too bunged up.
We have had to cancel our night out to celebrate our being together for 5 years as I can't expect my mum to be up 5 times with Isabel tonight, and besides on about two hours sleep and no tastebuds I am not overly enthusiastic about it myself, but I was really looking forward to it, and wanted to celebrate but now it is just going to pass us by as we can't get a babysitter for another few weeks
Sorry for the whinge I just need to let it out. Have had a shitty week this week and its just got worse.

Ahh, what a PITA CL. Can you get out in the fresh air? The weather is lovely today. I know when J has it bad last week, taking her out, helped her snot dry up!
Or can you send OH out with her and you can rest up a bit?
Hopefully you can get your night out when you're feeling better and can really enjoy it.

Aw no poor you and poor Isabel :higgies:
Could you maybe have a nice night in with a takeaway, wine, candles, flowers etc? I know its not quite the same, but it would be a shame to let it pass without marking it.

OH has had to go out today so I am on my own with her until 2pm when he will come back and look after her whilst I get my hair cut.
She has gone back to bed now anyway, and will be there for the next 1.5 hours at least - I could go back to bed but I need a shower and to get ready to go out, no chance of that when she wakes up as she gets so clingy when she feels rough.
Shoppie, OH offered to cook tonight (he is on a diet so no takeaways) but I told him not to bother as I can't taste anything anyway and my throat feels like someone has been at it with a cheesewire.

Oh poor you - it's horrible when you feel crap and have a baby to look after. I can't imagine the being pregnant as well as baby to look after and being ill but it must be 10 times worse.
You have my full sympathies - I know kind of how you feel with the cold as I'm suffering with the same. The cheesewire description is a good one for how my throat feels too. I can't take anything for it (same as you) as I'm still bfing so feeling doubly sorry for myself.
Hugs to you for having to cancel your night out - why don't you pick a night in a couple of weeks and call it your alternative 5yrs anniversary and do something special then, even if it's just an evening devoted to each other with your OH cooking rather than going out, and then you'd have something to look forward to still :higgies: . Hope you're both feeling better soon though.

Poor you :higgies: It's horrible being ill when you're pregnant - can't imagine how hard it must be with a baby to look after as well.
Hope you can re-schedule your night out to a time when you can both enjoy it and that both you and Isabel are feeling better soon :higgies:

I am so tired and headachey I just spent 20 minutes crying all over OH, who now thinks I have probably lost the plot.
I think I might be actually. I feel so low right now.

Oh darling heart :higgies: I hope you get some rest today and maybe your haircut will make you feel good too.
Try Medised for tonight, I know I always say it but honestly for this type of cold where they're waking up a lot it is wonderful
Huge :higgies: to you my sweet and I hope you have a better day

Thanks Spacey, we have her a double dose of Medised before bed last night and she had two more throughout the night - it normally works wonders but didn't help at all for the past two nights.

Sorry you're still feeling so pants. I'm still feeling pretty :zombie: myself and that's without an ill toddler to look after.
Tuck up as best you can, keep on drinking the hot lemon and honey and hope it goes soon. :higgies:
Defintiely plan an alternative night out for your anniversary - be good to have something to look forward to for when you're feeling better.

I want to plan an alternative night out but we can't get a babysitter on a Saturday night now until March and the moment has gone by then, so there doesn't seem much point. I mean we will probably still go out but its not going to be a celebration.
Its probably me being silly anyway, its not like it really matters and obviously doesn't matter to OH that much.

You poor thing. Hope you're feeling better soon, and Isabel too so you can all get a decent nights sleep. Will you be able to postpone your anniversary night out until next weekend when hopefully you'll all be feeling better?
ETA - Doh  . Just saw your thread that you can't get a baby sitter for a while.
:higgies: CL , you will just have to get OH to make it up to you when you are feeling better.

Oh that is just rubbish isn't it? I'm sorry it didn't work.
You'll just have to have extra ones of these then :higgies: instead

 I think she is just really struggling with having a cold and bad bad teething. It is one of her top back teeth coming through as far as I can see and last night she was was mental pulling at her mouth and screaming.
Hopefully tonight will be better, just need to try and keep her temperature down too, she is like a jacket spud at the moment.

What about combining the Medised with Nurofen? I do that if they are really bad. Give them some Medised a couple of hours before bedtime and then some Nurofen just as they're going up.
This seems to really knock the temperature and lasts for longer than Calpol.
Just an idea though :scratchchin:

Will try that tonight, thanks girls. She has been having Nurofen in the day and then Calpol about 3 hours later. Her temp did come down by yesterday afternoon but by bedtime it was up again.
I just feel so worn out by it all and I guess it is worse because I am feeling so ill myself.

Sweetheart, I know how you feel.
We've had to cancel a night away and a night out recently one because of my being ill and the other because of Con teething and being all unsettled.
Definitely get something else in the diary, even if you both agree to give it a fortnight, see how things are then and book something. But you must reschedule, you both deserve it.

Thanks for the hugs and sympathy girls. Still sitting here feeling sorry for myself but I have to snap out of it! Am going to attempt to give madam some more food but I doubt she will eat, can't blame her really.

WSS i would have to agree with Spacey here, Nurofen does last a lot longer and it'll not only help bring her temperature down really quickly (15 minutes) it'll stay down for at least 8 hours but by this time you'd be able to give her some more Medised. Hope you feel better soon, i wrote on your other thread about the flu bug and the sickness and diarheoa (sp) bug thats spreading like wild fire. Not good.
:higgies: :higgies: have some :choc: too
