In order to make better use of all the wonderful posts that this forum attracts, but which don't get looked at after they drop off the first or second page, I want to split it into some useful "archives".

For Pregnancy And Birth I am thinking of the following archive subforums:

BFP Announcements
Birth Stories
Baby Eqiupment
Baby Names
Health Issues
Eating in Pregnancy

Can you think of any more that would be useful?

(You would still be able to post any questions you wanted in Pregnancy & Birth, or you could post in the subforums. Once they dropped on to the third page, say, of P&B then they would be moved to the subforum.)

Your input would be appreciated! :flowers:

sounds like a great idea damz, the only other thing i can think of is birth planning type things - eg there is often a lot of discussion around pain relief, home births, water births etc

Ooh yes, good idea  It could include birth plans as well. What to call it though?

Birth Planning

or

Preparing For Birth

??? Or something else? :puzzled:

yeah sounds like a good idea to me, saves people searching for threads on common topics. Lists are always useful too - eg what to take into hospital/essentials in pg/for baby

I might call it Planning For Birth, as I think Birth Planning makes it sound like it's only about birth plans.

Great idea - would save searching through for old threads.

How about a section for legal/working rights etc..? People quite often ask questions about maternity leave and things like that...

Birth announcements (as a seperate thread to birth stories - I never wrote my birth story down as it was so hideous I didn't want to scare anyone  )
Pregnancy essentials or product reviews for pregnancy
Alternative therapies - though that may come under health issues

Yes, I was wondering about birth announcements. I'll do that.

And maybe Pregnancy Products & Reviews.

I really liked a post on HB   about how to cope in the early days of a newborn baby, loads of people put their 2 pence in with tips and advice....i'd have loved to read something like that when i was expecting

Just an idea xx

Maybe we should have a Newborn forum? :scratchchin:

hi Damsella, i think it would better for the newborn stuff to stay within baby and toddler, ie not as a separate forum as mothers with older babies will spot it more and are more likely to answer their queries, i think tried and tested/pregnancy essentials subforums are a good idea though

Good point Seashell. When I separate out the archive stuff then it will be easier to spot what's on B&T.
