Question for the writers

What do you do when inspiration hits you at awkward moments?? For example a whole idea for an article and the start of it came to me today whilst driving the girls into town. Wasn't like I could take out my notebook and jot the ideas down!! I instead had to repeat them over and over in my head, do my shopping and then hurry home and bash them out on the PC (now being interrupted by the wee one who is due her feed!!!)

What the hell do you do??? I'm sure some ideas must get lost this way????

I always keep a notebook in my handbag, if I'm driving then I do what you do and keep talking to myself until I get to wherever I'm going and jot down a few keywords / phrases until I can write them down properly.

I usually get inspirational thoughts as I'm falling asleep, so have a notebook by my bed. Also one in my handbag, and one in the kitchen next to the cooker ..........I used to have one in the bathroom but the kids soaked it.

I've dusted off my dictaphone that I used to use for interviewing and thought I would carry that in my bag too - might help me when I can't stop and write notes, though might get me some wierd looks about town!!!

Yes daffodil I was going to say I have a notebook by the bed too, for when I want to jot down interesting houghts / dreams - lol Lois hope you don't get too many funny stares, just pretend you're playing a game with the girls!
