I want to buy a DVD player for my bedroom, the TV up there is ancient and does not have a SCART connection on it, the DVD player also comes with A/V connection, is that what I need to use it?

my DH would know but he's away - sorry! It's one of those things that men tend to know I think!

if your tv only has an aerial socket then you'll need a modulator like this one from Maplin (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=33050&criteria=scart%20to%20coax&doy=26m11) you connect the dvd player to this little box then you can just tune the tv into it.

Problem is the box is £30 so by the time you have bought that and a dvd player you might as well have bought a portable with one built in.
