Has anyone has had any experience of this?

I've had, for the past month or 2, a few freckly patches around my nose and quite a noticeable patch of brown pigmentation on my forehead. It looks like almost like the liver spots you see on elderly peoples' hands :-(

Anyway, does anyone know whether this will go after the birth or am I stuck with it now for life? And is there anything I can put on it to make it fade? :scratchchin:

Thanks!

I have it and i'm sorry to tell you that i don't think it EVER goes :(

I got mine when i was on holiday at 14 wks pg and Lucy is now 17 months and its only gotten worse. I've been told by my GP that it won't really get any better and that if i have more children its likely to get worse.

There are no creams to get rid of it, although i know you can buy creams marketed for it specifically but i doubt they work tbh.

One thing i would advise is that you ALWAYS and i mean every day, regardless of what the weather is like, use at least SPF30 on your face. The sun just brings it out and makes it darker, every time i've been on holiday i come back and its worse.

Here is some more information on it...http://www.skinsite.com/info_melasma.htm

If you have any questions please PM me.

Thanks Ladies,

I guess I was hoping that there might be some sort of miracle cure for this but it looks like I'm going to have to live with it now :sigh:

Thanks for the link Mrs D, will definitely be wearing full sunblock from now on!

A friend of mine got it during her 2 pregnancies but both times it faded away afterwards. Though I don't really know anything about it other than that.
