View Full Version : What deoderant does your OH use?

The reason I ask, and DH would die if he knew I was sharing this with the nation, is that I have a real problem with the underarms of his shirts. They get a sort of whitey/yellow build-up and I can't shift it. When I iron them it releases a sort of mix of deoderant/sweat odour. It must be the deoderant which is making them go hard, cos surely sweat would just stain?

Anyway, he alsways has the Adidas type sprays and I was thinking that they can't be particularly effective (although he never smells) and that maybe it was worth trying something else.

Any suggestions?

My OH uses Adidas too but he tells me it's antiperspirant types rather than just deodorant that causes this. I have to admit I've always had this problem with my own white tops. I always use antiP but OH refuses to use it as he finds it too clogging and just uses the deodorant formulas. I imagine he’s probably right as his clothes don’t get build up.

Interesting that you mentioned the Adidas ones - when I used the womans version it used to leave a heck of a mark on my clothes that was a nightmare to wash out. Switched to Mitchum then and didn't have that problem (12 hours in a gym, I needed the extra protection!!)

Hubby uses the Nivea Fresh one and that is lovely, I think it is an anti-persperant one and even when he is cooking in the restuarant (gets really hot there) he still smells fresh (ish), not sweaty just foody on his clothes!

Bless, he would die if he read this.

We both use Sanex and I think it is great:thumb: . I think there are some that actually say on the packaging that they don't cause staining.

We both use Sure 24 hr, before we met we'd both found it was the only one that worked for us and it doesn't leave any marks.

My Dh uses the adidas ones too but only because they're the only ones i like the smell of. When i met him he used Lynx but i think they ALL smell vulgar so won't let him wear them

Also has some FCUK No.1 which is lovely, doesn't leave any marks on anything.

Weird you should ask as I have similar probs with my OH's clothes. No staining and he doesn't smell either (honest!), but I do find when I'm ironing that sometimes his gym t-shirts whiff a bit - it sort of rises up with the steam from the iron!
He doesn't use a particular deodorant, prob whatever's on offer, or Tesco's own brand.

I keep meaning to ask my mum about this - domestic goddess that she is! Will try and remember to ask her today and if she's got any pearls of wisdom I'll let you know.

My DH only uses deodorant as he hates anti perspirant. I use Pit Rock crystal deoderant.

To get rid of stains you can either put white vinegar on them before washing or make a paste of bicarbonate soda and water. Apply to the stains and let sit for about 20 mins before washing as usual.

My O/H uses Sure Sport for men (obv) roll on and he smells fresh as a daisy and his shirts underarms are just as clean as new shirts would be.
