I think clary sage is supposed to be very good for making your contractions more effective but I would guess this isn't ideal for pain relief. Maybe trusty lavender? I've got a kit at home so I'll have a look in that. It's the Labour Saving kit from Natalia - you can find it here - http://www.vitaltouch.com/cgi-bin/vt.cgi?referrer=http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=aromatherapy+labour~hl=en~lr=~start=10~sa =N&page=natalia.html - I don't know how good it is though - I bought it when pregnant with B and never even opened the box! I hope it's still good this time around.
I found this on ebay as well - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Aromatherapy-Labour-and-Birth-Kit_W0QQitemZ7749931405QQcategoryZ121631QQcmdZView Item - I might give this a go myself!

i have heard that peppermint for the nausea is good, frankincense for erm calming i think, and lavender for healing. didnt get to use them due to the emergency c-section, but i use the lavender in my nappy bucket now - so they wont go to waste!!
