View Full Version : If one more person tells me I'm having a boy...

I'm going to clonk them on the head with my handbag!

Honestly, a few weeks ago it was the woman next to me at the wedding we were at who had a 'feeling', today it was the receptionist in the hairdresser, and lots more people in between.

I mean, I wouldn't mind if it is a boy, except that we don't even remotely have even a back-up name, but I'm just pissed off with it. MIL has just left a message saying that Dh's cousin has had a girl today, so no doubt there will be more 'you must be having a boy then' talk.

I will admit that all along I have wanted a girl, but I do think that is mainly because I have one already and have the pink kit. My Mum has pointed out that maybe people are saying it's a boy because they assume I want one of each, but I don't think so.

I am carrying low, whereas I did carry Molly very high with lots of rib pain, but surely there is no scientific evidence to this.

I think the main reason I'm so bothered is that I AM DESPERATE to know, and was really gutted when they couldn't tell at the scan.

Sorry for this very pointless rant, I'm going to do something constructive like put the washing out.

Grrrrrrrrr for you - amazing how many people are bump experts eh?
I would deff go for the clonk with handbag thing - or think cutting things like "and I so didn't spot you were wearing x-ray glasses" or "amazing how you can tell what a sonographer and some hi-tech equipment couldn't".

You are right that the bump shape thing is a load of rubbish - they couldn't tell us for sure at the scan for E either - and I guess it could be wrong this time too.

Probably like me at the end of the day you just want......a baby!

Hope you don't meet too many more baby experts. FWIW I bit the head off a hapless teaching assistant yesterday who shouted across the staff room "ooooh you have got so much bigger since last week!" - I hate the way people think they can just comment like that - so I know how you feel. For the record I think I said "yes, that is what happens when you are 30 weeks pregnant, but it is not what I need to hear today thank you"

Sure you are much nicer than me!

Lol- get's annoying in the long run doesn't it?
I was told by EVERYONE IRL that I'd DEFO have a boy- no-one ever said a girl.
I wanted a girl real badly actually, so was a bit peeved off.
Anyway, had a boy in the end, so I guess all the goobers were right, but they were just second guessing..
Aint it funny how many theories people come out with- often contradicting what the last person said:hissyfit:

Thanks Azana,

Don't even get me started on the 'are you sure there aren't two in there' brigade. I am 5ft 2 and there ain't nowhere for it to go but out! Molly's key worker today said that I was 'so big now'. Mind you she's been off for 7 weeks after a nasty car crash so I'll let her off.

Just got Dh v excited by phoning him when I thought he had a free, but it turned out he was in a lesson but has his phone on labour alert:oops:

Anyway, if you had a boy what would you call him?

I have this too but its more to do with the fact that I already have a boy and people cannot imagine me having a little girl WTF!

Mind you the same people were shocked by my first pregnancy as they never thought I wanted kids in the first place! Yes I did I just didn't feel the need to tell everybody about it.

I am all out front this time and was last time as well just my bump is a different shape so I have no idea how they can guess it and the fact that strangers have a feeling in their waters its just ludicrous.

i mean I have no clue what I am having except for the fact its a Baby:swaddle:

Oooh yes... you're definately having a boy  And apparently so am I .. despite 2 sonographers telling me she's a girl.

Even if you are carrying differently to your last preg, or exactly the same, it doesnt mean the sex of the baby will be the same/different according to that.. each individual preg is different, and I dont think there are any hard & fast rules, just "evidence" that suits peoples myths and beliefs at the time

People are SO quick to judge EVERYTHING once you are preg, your size (Oh, sure its only 1 in there love) to the way you are carrying (Oh, You're all up front, its definately a boy) to what you may or may not chose as a name, weather or not you might breastfeed it goes on and on and on... endlessly :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit:

I have SO had enough of being told how FAT i have gotten. I HAVENT put on any weight (severe hypermesis saw to it I actually LOST weight) I just look like I have a basketball up my top! So how DARE people call me "fattyboomboom" as if its a good thing! ?

I am so glad it will be all over for me soon. I never knew that once I became preg, I also became public property, for people to say what they want, however thoughtless, do what they want (touch my bump without even asking!) and have opinions on EVERYTHING to do with MY baby.

Sorry - rant over  Just want to say, that I know how frustrated and annoyed you must be honey.
