I am so happy I just had to share it.

I'm not sure if you read my thread a while ago about finding a dress and my nightmare shopping experience in a well known wedding dress shop!

I was really down about everything, sure that I was going to be the only bride in the world who looked terrible on her wedding day.

Anyway, months and months ago I found a dress pattern on a website that I loved. It is a 1960s style short dress. I just loved it. But listening to everyone else I thought I should try on some "traditional" dresses. I did and it didn't work out.

So, I went to see a dressmaker who was recommended to me and took my pattern along and it was BRILLIANT  . She loved the idea, took me through loads of gorgeous material and had some great ideas.

I am so happy, I get to wear my 1960s style dress and she has helped me pick the materials and promised she will help me look fab.

Yay, for the first time in ages I am excited about the wedding.

That's fantastic news!
I was so sorry to hear about your horrendous experience (though I could sympathise, as my wedding dress is going to be a size 18-20, and I am sitting here wearing my size 14 Next Jeans with minimal discomfort!) and am chuffed to bits you have found something that makes you feel a million dollars!
I'm not going to be a traditional bride either :teehee:
