Our posts crossed. Glad you made it from 'the dark side' too!
How are you and Isabelle doing?
Morning girls. HB is doing my head in, down virtually all day yesterday, and been trying to get on since about 9am this morning. All I can say is that I now type my posts in Word first, so if HB crashes I dont lose the post - as its so INFURIATING. (This is copy & pasted from word as HB just crashed AGAIN when I tried to post!)
Brew I have a PM from you - but I cant open it - am wondering if admin are blocking it as its to do with a "competitor" I have signed up for D.org but it wont let me post, prob with user name  so need to sort that out. (OBV this is sorted now as HERE I AM !)
Re the sweep, Well I didnt actually know I was having one until after it happened! I can only describe it like the 1st time you ever had sex (you know that oooohhh my god im being stretched :o ! ) feeling, with fairly bad period pain... But I guess everyone is different - thats how it felt to me. Afterwards the consultant said he has stretched the neck of my cervix and pulled some of my plug away... Have been having abdominal pains (very mild) on & off, but no discharge or bleeding. I also noticed in my notes I *THINK* (you know what Drs handwriting is like) he's written 1cm dialted ....
Funny, as now its "booked" I have been able to get really organised, booked doggles into kennels for Fri & Sat night, and Dh has arranged to come home early Friday from work, so we can take dogs, then have dinner together before setting off for hospital, Im sat here thinking "dont come early baby, as you'll mess up all my plans" theres just no pleasing me is there
TS, Well I go in at 6pm Friday, so will be a bit ahead of you, but dont think that means anything tbh ! Been told inductions can be VERY long winded and drawn out :( Boo Hiss ! But yep, we might be texting each other at same time!
Daisy , great to see you honey, so pleased you & Arun are home.
Well, I slept "ok" last night, SPD really bad, so very uncomfy, and mind was racing a bit, but all in all not too bad.. God knows what I'll be like on Thursday night though !!
Been quite tearful today, feeling overwhelmed, and panicy, like AM I READY TO BE A MUM ???? ARRRRGGGGHH.. Im hoping its natural to feel so anxious as birth approaches... either than or I am in serious trouble

All - welcome aboard may mums - just to say if you are having probs with your PMs and possibly think that the HB powers that be are blocking them - they may be searching for the string "Damsels". You may need to disguise it in some way when you type it in a PM to other May mums. Like d-a-m-s-e-l-s (remove the hyphens) or whatever.
Hello Yes I am here as well.
Really thought I would have went by now but still hanging around.
I really hope it happens soon tho as I am tired and my LO is being a grumpy we sod because of the heat and I actually dare to bring him in from the garden when he is playing!!!!
Its my mums birthday on Saturday so maybe bubs will make an appearance then.
Its hard to believe that it is May already tho it has gone in so fast.
Daisy congrats by the way and well done.
Red, Thanks for tip. TBH am getting so p*ssed off with HB that might decamp altogether (once all the other May Mums Mafia are aware of this site) and then we can all start "living" here instead
Nat I'm thinking that too, I think the problem is with all PM's no one can access them, or post anything, I was looking for this site for ages and was so pleased when brew's PM had the address in the title, lets hope the others get the message, I can't be bothered hanging around for it to work.
Hope little T hangs in there till the weekend for you!
Hey Em :wave2: Yep, Lets hope all the May Mums get the message, and find their way here..
Im having a bit of an off day today, feeling very restless, like I should be doing stuff, but dont have the energy  Everytime I go in the kitchen, I think "ooh, it could all do with a good clean out" But cant see myself getting motivated to do it
Going to read a bit of my book and think of things that I can actually achieve before Friday to keep me occupied and from going stir crazy. Little T seems happy enough where she is at the mo (after months of telling her I want her out, I am now telling her to stay put until Friday) Bless her, she'll be born with a complete complex!
Oh, Sorry to be thick.. but how to you put a ticker on here.. I know it must be something to do with the user control panel - but couldnt see a place to put it... Help?? :puzzled:
:cheer2: Yay, I made it over here!!
What a great site!
Am also v. p*ssed off with HB at the moment, keep losing posts and haven't even been able to log on since Monday lunchtime.. :-(
NatNat - To put your ticker in your signature, go to "edit signature" and paste in the link. You can then preview it to make sure it's worked. That's what I've anyway, hopefully it will work!
BTW - Have you seen Sai's post on HB? Hels texted her this morning to say that her waters have broken!! It's all happening now!
  hola
made it over here. Posted on HB at 5am this morning (seems only works in middle of night!) but then just logged on again and managed to see the title of Brew's PM but not open it....but found my way here anyway!! Glad we are all getting over here, seems much better so far! Lost last post on HB (again!)
Went back to bed at 5.30 when poor Mr S had to get up, he was soooo tired as I had kept him awake all night. Slept till 9am until MIL called  so got up and have done ironing and a few bits and now going to do nothing 'cept nose around here and sit in sunshine! Might pop off to shop for a magnum later though, have resisted thus far, but not sure how much longer i can hold out for an ice cream!
Nat, sorry you feeling down today - totally natural you feeling anxious though honey now you have a set date. I go through such a spectrum of emotions at the moment all the time....keep your chin up. You will be a FANTASTIC mum.
Brew, wedding in Devon is next week. Mr S will be flying down weds pm and coming back fri aft. I have really mixed feelings about it tbh. Most of me is fine with him going (today!!) as head was totally not engaged last week and nothing has "dropped" since. Mr S doesn't want to go now but feels like he can't pull out such last min as v small wedding & they are our some of our best friends. Only worry is really how quickly he could get back if I needed him to as we would both be devasted if he missed the birth. Gamble really....will play by ear until next week. Have 38 wk check at MW on the thurs am so guess if anything had changed by then he would just have to fly back that afternoon pronto. Stag do is this sat so he is also away for that - though not far away and my parents are coming over.
Was more annoyed with another close friend who is flying down to Devon with mr S and said "as I was on holiday now I can drive them all to the airport on weds" WTF!??! Mr S told him to sod off as I am not on holiday and not ferrying people about when I am about to drop.
Anyway nice to find you all on here gals
mrs s xx
hey Keira - posts crossed. Glad you found it too!!
Oh my god Hels waters breaking  is getting Soooo real now!
Was thinking do we need back up "buddies" in case some of us are caught between sites?? though mine has made it over here (Keira! ;) )
Hey Keira & Mrs S - So glad you found us !
Clever Brew to PM everyone - even if you cant open the message, the title says it all
Wow ! Hels waters have broken  Thats great news!
Havent seen the post on HB , coz berluddy thing isnt working for me :hissyfit:
Mrs S cant believe someone thought you were a blooming chaffeur or something just beacuse you aren't actually at work. The cheek ! You have worked right up to the end, done endless entertaining etc, now is the time for you to be sitting back getting some you time missy!!! Glas Mr S put them straight !
Keira, I did try the whole ticker thing but it didnt work, Never mind... Only 2 more days to go anyway  :scared: so guess theres not much point.
I like it over here!! I think we should stay!
Hello Mrs S - glad my buddy made it!
NatNat - you're right, don't suppose it matters about your ticker now - you'll be creating a new one in a few days!!
Just tried to post on HB to let TS know we've moved but it's berluddy crashed again! :fuming:
I know Nat - I am going to be TOTALLY selfish from now on....
Keira your post made it onto HB, hoepfully TS will make it over soon...
Just going to pop to shops for more tomatoes & oranges (think have developed an addiction rather than a craving now!!!) Oh well, could be worse I guess!
got bit of a dodgy tum again today though - maybe that's why I couldn't sleep.....maybe something to do with the pounds and pounds of toms & oranges I am eating  (though least I am not having the bunged up problem!! ;)
Hey everyone :cheer2:
Finally managed to check my private messages and found you, hooray!
About Helski yes, got a text this morning from her. Her waters broke last night at 11.30pm. They went to hospital and have kept her in as her BP was high. She is having contractions which are getting stronger so hopefully things will happen for her very quickly

Hiya girls
Glad you are all making it over here!
So  and  and :loco: that they wont allow you to open the pm i sent you just because damsel is in the title. Am well p***ed off with that site now. Am going to email the admin me thinks and complain! I cant access my pms at all and i bet thats why!
BTW, could someone pm redlou and laurena please(just type the link in the topic box) as it crashed before i could finish pm ing everyone.
Its much better over here anyway!
brew, i wouldnt bother complaining. AFAIK / Have heard, they dont give a t*ss really, If you dont like it you can leave is there attitude.
I 1st joined HB 3 years ago.. and have noticed that most of the people here are from HB.. (as well as another forum where old handbaggers post) I think most of them got fed up and decamped. The only reason us lot have stayed so long is that in our little clique we dont venture out side our own thread much, so dont see the stupidness that goes on with admin etc (pulling threads, banning users etc etc etc)
Anyway, enough moaning, I've got AWFUL backache. going to lie down. . will log on again later this afternoon.
Enjoy sunshine girlies xxxx

Yay, managed to get here! :cheer2: Couldnt get into my pm for a while and didnt have the brains to use the link anyway  Did get into it eventually though so dont think they are actually blocking it purposefully.
mw has just been, I've got something in my wee that might be an infection so have to drink lots of water today and they will check again tomorrow. other than that I just have to wait...
pains arent regular but when they come they really let me know about it.
cant believe so many of us are popping this week, it's a really busy week for may mummies.
Anyway, going to get some lunch, now I've found this site might not end up quite so frustrated by the end of the day!

Tiger- Glad youve made it. Get supping that water girly!
Just sent handbag a one line email asking them to kindly explain why they have blocked me from pms (keeps saying im not allowed- well words to that effect!) Probably wont answer but it might annoy them so thats ok!
Glad you made it Sai & TS :wave2:
Hope it starts to speed up a bit for you TS - I'm sure it won't be long now, it must be very frustrating just waiting around.
Don't think there will many of us left from next week onwards :sigh: My baby's showing no signs of wanting to come out yet though so I guess I'll be around for the foreseeable future!
The weather is gorgeous here - just popped out to the shops and couldn't resist getting myself a Solero :icecream: Feel all summery now!
Hello, I have found you all! We cannot be doing without some kind of forum when it's all go for the May Mummies!!
How exciting about Helski!
I am going to sit in the garden for a bit, what a lovely day it is!
Don't think there will many of us left from next week onwards :sigh: My baby's showing no signs of wanting to come out yet though so I guess I'll be around for the foreseeable future!
I think I'll be with your Keira! You're right there will be hardly anyone left soon. It is making me want the baby to come even more now, I am so impatient, sure this isnt helping matters, bet he will now be overdue to serve me right!
:ellie: Glad you made it here Red! :ellie:
Haven't seen Pooch yet though - hope she gets here soon!
You've made me jealous Keira, I must go out and get an ice cream now!
Hope things get going for you soon TS.
Great news about your induction Nat, finally the end is in sight!
Are any of you getting any twinges down there? Also, TMI ALERT, I seem to have loads of discharge all of a sudden, I'm sure it's normal but I'd better check when I go again tomorrow...
Are any of you getting any twinges down there? Also, TMI ALERT, I seem to have loads of discharge all of a sudden, I'm sure it's normal but I'd better check when I go again tomorrow...
Me too. Infact I keep thinking my waters might have broken but no such luck!!
Also been getting quite a few twinges over the last week or so, they feel like when you go for a smear test, as I think someone said a few days ago. I guess it must be the cervix softening or something
Red - Glad you're thinking of staying put for a while too, I bet everyone else will pop next week and there'll be just the 2 of us left! :yeahright: I have been really impatient since about 36 weeks - serves me right really!
I have a feeling I am going to be around for a while. No twinges, bump still not dropped at all and head was nowhere near any kind of engagement last week...so I will be here (better bloody be if Mr S is going to this wedding!). I have a feeling I will end up being a June mummy - not that that will stop be being a may mummy iyswim!? Needs to come quickish though as by the sounds of it, Mr S's grandpa (who is 96) is very poorly now....hope to god he hangs on to see his 1st great-grandchild. Mr S will be devastated too as he is very close to him :-(
Popped out and resisted the ice cream calling me, but wish I hadn't now...oh well. Had 2 lovely oranges instead! Will have some ice cream with my strawbs after dinner tonight. Going to treat Mr S to nice dinner, cold beer and will prob watch the footie (tho neither support Middlesborough). Been sitting in the garden reading my book and listening to the birds but got a bit hot so had to retreat back indoors for a while!!

Was at the fishing lake with DH but then realised had left my book at home so needed to pop back. Just checked my emails and handbag had emailed me saying they had reset my options whatever that means! so now i can access my pms again
Redlou- sent you the message but you had worked out my code and already got here.
Sent message to pooch but will send again later if we havent 'seen' her.
Right, need to go and work on my tan again (sooooooo hot here, its fab!)
x
Ohhh girls, finally found you!
I have been away all morning at my breastfeeding NCT class and then when I got home I couldn't sodding log into handbag for ages. Brew, couldn't open your pm but I knew about this site already so clever title!
I am so fed up of handbag, is way to unreliable at a time when we really need to be in contact! So lets try it out here and see how we get on!
So exciting about Helski!!!! I can't believe another may mummy is on her way.... Tigerstripes, hope things start happening soon for you!
Natnat, not long to go for you either!
Keira, I don't think mini pooch is even engaged so I think it might take a while for me.... Seeing the mw tomorrow so will get a progress report then.
Apparently is really normal before labour to have vast amounts of discharge, which is different from your plug so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Its looks so lovely outside I think I might go in the garden for a while!
Hellooo, what a scorcher of a day, you lot have made me go mad for ice cream, luckily have an ice cream van round here so just waiting for the lovely tune of "Whistle While We Work" to come along so I can pop out! Yay.
I've have millions of discharge as well. TMI: sometimes has been quite snotty which is really disgusting but I've read thats normal so not too worried (just a bit freaked out- it is WRONG).
Oh well good I'm not the only one then!
Good to hear you've found us Pooch!
Just been out in the garden playing Colin eating a Magnum, yum yum! Poor thing, he's gonna be completely abandoned when the baby comes so I'm trying to make it up to him whilst I can  I'm sooo sad!
Changing the subject completely, really struggling with boys names... Obviously haven't had much time to think about this since it's all changed so quickly... So far we only have one name in the shortlist but really struggling to find a middle name that suits! Are you all decided on names then?
Oh well good I'm not the only one then!

Sai, we have been set on our names for almost the whole time since we had loads of girls names and hardly any boys so when we found out he was a boy we had less options! We have had a bit of pressure from Dhs family to use family names but have resisted that, not even cause we didn't like the names, just on the principle of having names forced on us! That said if we end up "doing a Sai" and having a girl we have loads to choose from!!
more may mummies!
sai, we have had a boy's and a girl's name (1 fave for each!) since pretty much day 1...but then got scared and started wondering if we really like them recently?!! struggling with middle name for our girl choice tho!! soooo hard to choose
Sai, we only have one boy's name on our shortlist so its pretty much decided!
I wasn't too keen at first but all the other options weren't very good or sounded weird in English or Spanish...
For example, I really like the name Alejandro, my sister is called Alejandra and whenever she is in England they call her Alehandra if you see what I mean. Then we thought of Alvaro but hate the idea that it might be shortened to Al.:loco:
I always liked the name Iņaki but as neither of us are basque, it would seem a bit strange!
So, we have really struggled but have decided to name our little boy Lucas as it can be pronounced by either nationality and it can't be shortened really. (my mum did mention that in Spain he might be called Lucas el pelucas:rolleyes:) but all names will have funny nicknames/rhymes if you try hard enough.....
Just back from midwife and it seems little geordie is 3/5ths engaged!! She said s/he could stay like that for 2 weeks or come out tomorrow!!! :faint:
I have been having loads of discharge for a while now and the cervix stabbing pains I too keep thinking my waters have broken!!!!
How exciting that Hels waters have broken, it really is all happening now!
I like it here, can we stay? :ellie: :cheer2:
Well let's hope none of you get a surprise on the sex of the baby then
See, I was sooo convinced it was a girl we had just chosed a girl's name which was Amaia (and is Basque like mine) Will save it for next time
Know exactly what you mean Pooch. Not only you have to choose a name but it also has to be easy to pronounce in Spanish and English... I would love to give the little boy a Basque name, as part of my heritage, but they're all so difficult to pronounce! I love Unai but hubby can't quite pronounce his own son's name
Yes, Em, I think we should stay !!! More reliable it seems, more fun smilies, and seeing as we are here now, dont see the point in going back to HB tbh...
Well its been a sunny day here too, but havent seen much of it - been sat inside with book as when I was sat in garden trying to read was getting headache - black hair & sunshine = overheated Natalie
Decided to split my hosp bag into 2. So now have all MY stuff (Mat/Breast pads, knickers, bras, PJs , washbag towel etc) in the "hospital" bag, and all Ts stuff (Clothes, cotton wool, nappies, blankie, etc) in her changing bag, which can be left in the car until needed. Think thats the more sensible option, as her stuff was taking up alot of room.
Kinda feel like Im going on holiday, not sure what to take/weather im taking too much/not enough etc.. :scratchchin:
I will GO to the hospital wearing my comfy trackie bottoms & T shirt. I then have a black pair of PJs to wear for "lounging" in hospital on the friday night / sleeping in or whatever up until something really starts.. then I can either take the PJ bottoms off (T shirt is V long) to labour in, or change into black nightie (black being a theme if there is any danger of blood!)
For after birth I have a pair of blue/green PJs to wear, for photos and visitors
So thats 2 pair PJ & one nightie - is that too much?
Am I being too anal about this ????
Oh, And I am taking 10 pairs of knickers (cheapos, not disposable) and 2 nursing bras... plus 2 pairs socks and flip flops (NOT TO BE WORN WITH SOCKS I MUST ADD) :teehee:
Oh meant to add :cheer2: for being 3/5ths Em , thats good news!
 Em, glad you made it! :thumb: on being 3/5ths engaged, so am I actually, let's hope these babies come out soon!
Nat you're being very organised  I also have my bag divided with my stuff and the baby's stuff so that we're able to find things a bit easier than having the whole lot together... I've packed three thin nighties too as the ward was so hot so don't think you've got too much stuff. Don't forget a hairband or some hair clips for labout though!

Hi ladies, found you too. I've not had any problems with HB but seeing as almost everyone has decamped, specially from Toddler, I decided to make the leap too!
I've been catching up on sleep today .. bliss! My mum is staying nights with us until lunchtimes when DH gets up, so that's been a great help. Hannah is totally hyper, having been out of routine for days now, so hopefully we'll get her calmed down soon. DH has taken her swimming just now to let her blow off some steam.
Anyway, we are doing well. Arun is a star and no trouble at all yet! That'll come no doubt. Will post a pic soon.
It's nice over here! Sending lots of good labour vibes to those still waiting to pop. It's so exciting!!!
Daisy
 Daisy, glad to hear you're doing well. Can't wait to see a picture of your little one soon!
Keep well.
Sai, in my washbag, there is -
Toothpaste
Toothbrush
Lip Balm
Shower Gel
Shampoo
Body lotion
Deodorant
Hair bands
Hairbrush
All in miniture sizes, all brand new - just like I would do if I were going away on hols/weekend away - How sad am I - I spent ages in Boots Umming and Aahhing over weather to buy botanics minis or Sanctuary minis... went with The Sanctuary in the end.
I shall also be packing my foundation / powder / hollywood shine and mascara for apres birth photos.
Im so vain - woohoo !
(have packed a flannel and facial spritzer too - so Im not being completely unpractical! )

Seems like you've got it all covered Nat :thumb:
Can't wait to hear how Hels is getting on...
I'm logging off for the day, got some ironing to do so I'd better get on with it... Going to hospital again tomorrow for another check-up, my favourite place, so will not be able to log in until the afternoon at least so don't get worried girlies. Have a good evening all!
NEWS FROM HELSKI!!!!
Her hubby has just texted me to say Megan Lea was born at 12.10 this afternoon. She had a long labour ending in ventouse but mother and baby are doing fine. She's staying in hospital tonight!

we did have some funny looks, but was really good to chat and hopefully we will all become good friends and so will our babies. The babhy thagt came today was waving to all of his friends in our tummies and telling them to come out and play!!
really made me want to have a may mummies meet soon, after all we have been a 'family' for soo long now so would be so cool to actually meet up.
I have been having cramping pains all afternoon, not sure if it is anything but we will see.........
well of to watch the apprentice now, who will it be? not sure I really want either of them to win!!

really sorry about ticker, will try and sort it out tomorrow!! xx
Just wanted to say :wave2:
Can't believe how many May mummies have already popped and it's only the second week of the month
I'm so relieved to be home it was VERY borning in hospital and the bed was horrible and sticky (due to all that plastic  )
Just hope beanette stays in my pelvis - am going to try and find an accupuncturist and/or reflexologist tomorrow to try to encourage her to stay in place (and if I go into labour, well that's just a good thing). I'm being such a good girl - sitting on my birthing ball whilst at the 'puter, lying on my left side and not going to do too much..... mind you I've tonnes of "bits" to sort out - after 8 days in hosptial life is rather chaotic to say the least
Anyway it's good to be back and I'm so glad you've found your way over here :ellie:

Morning girls!
Did we all sleep well the first night in our 'new home' ?!
I slept really well last night :cheer2: slept from 1045 til 545 without waking once (not even for the loo!) A real record for me. Must be October the last time I slept that long at once!
Shamu- bet you are so glad to be home. Lets hope things happen naturally for you soon. Must be horrid being in hospital with a little one at home.
Funky- I had cramping pains pretty much on and off all aft yesterday but i think its just part of the process at this stage unfortunately. :sigh:
Im trying to stop symptom spotting (although its hard :sigh: ) as I will drive myself mad.I have to accept that the baby will come when he is ready. I wonder if i will still be saying this in another week when my due date is almost here!
Looks like another lovely day here. bbc weather site has predicted 23 degress and a big sunshine  for here and its usually quite accurate so hoping to get out in garden again
speak in a bit
x
Hi everyone!
Shamu - bet you're glad to be home! sending you baby staying in pelvis vibes!!
brew - hurrah for good sleep and nice weather, I check the bbc site every morning and we have 22 and sun here today, have been keeping my eye on the weekend as well as my mum is coming to stay which I'm really looking forward to, it was saying 22 and sun on sat and 15 and rain on sun, it's now changed it's mind and it's 16 and sunny spells both days :sigh:
Tiger - hope something happens today for you hun!
Funky - I was kept awake all night by "mini" contractions and have bad backache, my mum was getting excited and saying it sounded like the start but I'm not too sure. I still ahve them today but they're not getting any worse.
elliesma - it was me that said about the cervix pains, I've had them for well over a week now, I forgot to ask the midwife yesterday so it was nice to know they mean my cervix is doing the right thing!!! Thanks!
We had the most ENORMOUS thunderstorm here last night, it started about 6.30 and went on till about 10.30, I was getting excited as thunderstorms are supposed to bring on labour and midwives say that maternity units are busier if there's been a thunderstorm. It was exciting when it was still light but when it got dark I got a bit scared ! Then our downstairs toilet started making funny noises so I went downstairs and the water level had risen in it! It made a few more noises so I ran down to check it was OK and not flooding downstairs and realised it was air bubbles coming up the toilet, it looked like the water was boiling!!! then there was this huge shuddering noise and a big woosh and the water went down again, I can only assume it was blocked and then unblocked itself!!?? I was thinking I was going to have to call Dynorod out today! Luckily it didn't smell!
Right, all that typing has made me hungry, time for breakfast!

Morning all :wave2:
had an on ok night once got to sleep but spent about two hours gwetting there, basically my skin was itching like anything and just driving me mad. :-( I have had problems with it for years now and on and off in pregnancy it has been bad but last night :hissyfit: poor Oh hwas also driven mad by me tossing , turning , scratching and generally moaning!! skin really dry this morning, although I oil it everyday i am going to do even more so today so :fingerscrossed:
Em and Brew think your right we are just getting ready :cheer2: pains died off in night but at least it feels like something is happening.
Tiger, lets hope today is the day :fingerscrossed:
Nat, enjoy your last full day at home with no bubs, how exciting:cheer2: hope you can chill today and enjoy the weather, must be weird knowing when it is going to happen, just think it will hopefully be an end to the SPD (or at least the beginnning of the end) :thumb:
I'm off to the docs later to have booking in appointment with nurse and then off to pick up our living room curtains. Once they are up then............. (didn't think was good odea to deliver without any!!)
catch up later, hope all had good slepps and enjoying the weather xxxxx:wave:

Thanks for sh*tting the life out of me funky
I hadnt thought of it like that, but now you've mentioned it.. TONIGHT is the last night I will be in my house without a baby.. :faint:
OMG! Well I am not leaving for hospital until 5pm tomorrow, so have most of the day tomorrow to get final things done. Have been very tearful since getting the date set  Guess its hormones etc but been VERY wobbly, crying most of the time, and basically being a muppet. :-(
Anyway, Shamu - So pleased you're home
Hels - HUGE congrats (have posted on t'ither side too) :cheer2: :ellie: Cant wait to see pics & hear all about it.
Everyone else, will catch up with thread & posts in a while, must go... Im starving ! (sorry to be short & sweet)
Morning ladies!
Ooh do you think it might be the Real Thing Em?! Ver exciting.
I had a terrible nights sleep and had to get up early for midwife appointment this morning (though pleased to report this one was at least human and in possession of a sense of humour, rather than the totally vacanst how-on-earth-can-she-have-qualified-as-anything one I had last time). Baby was "free" last week and is now 3/5ths and "not coming out again" :ellie: (that picture looks like me at the moment). I am very pleased about this :thumb: Also had been worried about my swollen feet but she says not to worry so thats another weight off my mind.
Stuck in today waiting for hob repair man.. what a shame I might have to catch up with all the tv things I have missed like the Apprentice (SHHHHH DONT TELLL MEEEE!) and I suppose i could finally do my hospital bag now since everything is all nice and washed now.
Hiya Red, Great news re bubs position. So know what you mean about some MWs... Last week I had someone who A) Couldnt explain why I suddently measured 4cm bigger that the previous week  and B) Couldnt tell me at all how baby was lying  Think she was either having a stupid day, or was just plain thick. But its amazing how dejected you feel after a "bad" appt with them..
Re your swollen feet, Im no expert but know that if they are quite bad I think you are meant to keep them elevated - IE get your feet up on that sofa today honey !
Im off to put some washing on, now I have stuffed myself with weetabix  Will catch you all again in a while..

nat,
i am sooo sorry :flowers: really didn't mean to freak you out.
you will be fine, don't worry, I know that this is not ideal but one girl in our NCT class was three weeks early and had bought nothing (!) apart from the car seat and I met up with them yesterday and she was fine, baby is fine etc. I know that's not what we all want but really it will be fine and just shows that it can be done. The poor girl was in mammas and papas ordering the pushchair when she went into labour!!
anyway please enjoy the day, and I really didn't mean to freak you- sorry. :flowers:
morning all
not great night's sleep for me - but better than night before. Was awake for hour or so around 3. Woke up with Mr S at 5am and he brought me tea/toast, so read for a bit after he left and then slept again till 9....when I felt like I had been drugged I was so tired. Really trying hard not to lie in too late though or sleep in afternoon as then can't sleep at night and whole thing starts again....ho hum
Gorgeous day again...my only prob with it is NO clothes to wear as all my mat stuff is dark/winter. Fine when I am in garden as I dont care what I wear, but am off into town soon for a potter and then meeting a friend for lunch and only have black clothes - will be roasting .
Had some good news about my mat pay yest as work wrote me a letter to confirm payments etc etc - am going to get more than I thought as I had miscalculated & my car allowance (which is quite big) is paid the whole time I am off!! :ellie: Plus they have messed up my holidays and are insisting they pay me for 4 days in may which I am sure I don't have...oh well will keep quiet and keep the cash in the bank in case they realise! (is that bad?!)
Hels - huge congrats mrs!! beautiful name too (another one which is on my list, that's you & DG now!!). Can't wait to read full story and see pics. Take care...will also post on "Other side"
Nat  re last day without bubs for you....take it easy and enjoy it. Is so exciting but can totally understand you being worried honey. Nearly time to meet your little one...awwwww
Red Lou, mine was still free last week too - wonder if it will be engaged at all next week when I go...eek. though don't feel like bump has dropped or anything feels different. Bet mine is a proper stubborn b*gger!
Shamu, glad you home. Take it easy and hopefully bubs will stay in position for you.
Hi Daisy/Elliesma/Funky
Though funky not sure I am liking your avatar lady with upcoming match on sat..........will have to find a liverpool one!
Right off to put some slap on and make myself beautiful before I go out (Nat you are def not the only vain one! I will be stopping short of taking what Mr S calls my "Bobbi Brown suitcase" in with me and just a few make up bits  )

Redlou- :cheer2: about being 3/5th engaged, thats fab. Now get your bag packed mrs!!!
The Apprentice was really good BTW. I wont tell you who won!
Nat- must be a bit weird for you sweetie. Aaww, try and get out in the sunshine today for a bit if you can, that usually helps.:flowers:
Funky- what do you need curtains for:huh:   Must admit, am a bit envious of you arranging a home birth. The nearer it gets, the more    I am about going into hospital. I have never stayed in overnight before  I guess it will be ok though. At least the maternity unit is new and it is really nice (as nice as these places can be IFYSWIM)
Well, i can see another fishing session coming on later if this lovely weather continues:rolleyes: Still, good for the tanning. Am getting a really nice tan now.
Right, need to go and wash up and tidy round a bit.

I agree, I think its so important to be taken seriously and proper care to be taken to explain everything for you. No wonder the whole thing is so traumatic if half the time we feel we are in the hands of idiots, or no hands at all! That said I have had mostly good people, sounds like you have had the worst of them all Nat!
Yes I think I will be doing a bit of lazing around today :)
Red Lou, mine was still free last week too - wonder if it will be engaged at all next week when I go...eek. though don't feel like bump has dropped or anything feels different. Bet mine is a proper stubborn b*gger!
I posted on The Other Side about this recently and aparently it doesnt really make much difference if bubs is engaged or not, some don't bother engaging and just come right out! So although its nice to hear and makes you feel like things are moving along I'm not sure how much it really changes things!
Congrats Red on joining the engagement club!!! My mini contractions seem to have eased off and geordie is being v quiet today, just been out in the sun and had to come in as I was too hot! even started to go red with factor 15 on and I am one of these lucky people who never burns!! Decided to do tuna pasta salad for dinner as it is too hot for anything else, more thunder forecast for later though, hope it doesn't affect my toilet again!!!
Just saw this post on The Other Side:
Barley has had her baby!!!
I've just had a text from Barley to say that she's had a baby girl, born on Tuesday 10th May by C-section, weighing seven and a half lbs.
I'll let Barley tell you her name when she gets home at the weekend.
Ooh, congrats to barley! I saw a post that Zepplin had her baby too, is that all the former april mums popped yet or is there still scout to go?
Morning everyone, lovely day here!
Can I join the engagement club?? Went to mw and mini pooch is 1/5 engaged! I know its not much but at least things are starting to happen:cheer2:
had no Braxton pickles, period pains, back pain so at least this confirms the baby is doing something! The mw said bubs was very healthy and as usual he kicked the heart monitor away. She also showed me how to find his head in the pelvis which was pretty cool.
They will be delivering my home birth kit on Sunday so excited about that too! All in all a very good morning.
Natnat, enjoy your last full day of freedom:partay:
You must be so excited! No wonder you are feeling teary, it is quite daunting but good.
Mrs s, great news about all your maternity benefits. Sounds excellent! I am with you on the summery maternity clothes. Just didn't seem much point buying stuff for a month. At least at home no one can see what I am wearing cause its a hotpotch of stuff fitting in different ways etc but at least I am comfy:grin:
Red Lou, the apprentice was very good! Enjoy watching it!
Tigerstripes, hope you are quiet because things are happening!
Hello to everyone else:wave2:
Morning Everyone
HUGE congratulations to Hels :woohoo: :ellie: I did post on "the other side" too, hope she finds her way over here when she gets a chance to log on..!
Shamu - So glad you're out of hospital and that beanette is finally in the right place! Hope she stays there now!
Big congrats too to all those recently engaged!! I think we must all be engaged now aren't we?!
My little boy has been engaged for a few weeks now but I think he must be very comfy where he is, or just stubborn. DH and I went out to our fave Indian restaurant last night and had a very hot curry, and also a bit of :lovin: when we got home  but still no sign of him wanting to come out. Just ate a whole pineapple too but don't think that will be doing the trick either!!
Em - I've got 3 hospital bags too, don't know how I could get all my stuff into any fewer than that really  Will also be taking a mini stereo thing and CDs as well as video camera and extra cushions so think I will end up end up with at least 4 bags! Am also taking full make up kit - those photos will be around for a long time to come!
Mrs S - :woohoo: on the mat pay!
Nat - Make the most of your last day - am so excited for you!
Brew - Please can I come fishing with you too?! Can't think of anything nicer to do today! :sunout:
Funky, No need to apologise babes at all - sooner or later it had to dawn on me didnt it  !
Funny, as the things I am worrying about are really
trivial. I havent HONESTLY not thought about the labour yet.. My pathetic worries are:
A) I know that after 1st gel, and monitoring DH will be sent home if nothings happening, and called back if anything changes overnight - I am a scaredy cat about knowing Im going to be in hosp on my own
B) Whilst waiting for the gel to work, I will be kept on the maternity ward - This is where people who have already HAD their babies will be.. so the thought of crying babies if I am trying to get to sleep is worrying me...IE if labout doesnt start fri night, I will NEED sleep to cope with the long day Saturday might hold... (V selfish thought I know)
C) Once in labour, I will be moved to the labour ward.. Who makes sure all my stuff is moved with me if Im not in fit state to take control - what if my stuff gets lost
SEE - I AM WORRYING ABOUT THE MOST STOOOOPID THINGS !!!! (I think I am suffering with a common case of pre-labour denial syndrome)
Re mat clothes, luckily for me, I didnt go mad on mat clothes, My normal clothes still fit right up until when I was signed off work at end of Feb. I had bought 1 smart mat dress, as that was going to do for Xmas, New Year & a wedding (which I ended up not going to!) and then I bought 3 tshirts and 2 pairs trackie bottoms from Next to wear lounging around.. and they've served me well, they are quite smartish, so not looking "vicky pollard-ish" thank god.
Re the apprentice - Dont worry wont spoil it. BUT do want to say that both girls have just been on this morning.. and they filmed 2 endings for the apprentice back in OCTOBER - One with Sir A saying to Ruth "you're hired!" and one of him saying to Michelle "you're hired" ... BUT THEY HAD TO WAIT UNTIL TUESDAY THIS WEEK ( 7 months later!) to find out who REALLY GOT THE JOB!) That must have been hell !!!!!
Ooh and Mrs S.. Yes, I am being a very good girl re the make up.. Am taking my fab foundation, Powder, shimmer and mascara and THATS IT. In fact, I might not even bother with powder, have noticed my skin is fairly dry in recent weeks, so the foundation and a bit of hollywood glow will do just fine for that "fresh faced yummy mummy" look :teehee:
I keep telling DH - Thats why I buy Benefit products... everyone benefits from them ! (I feel fab, and no one gets scared of my unmade up face!)
Sorry, Cant stop posting today.
NOW after reading your replies about hosp bag, I am thinking I dont have ENOUGH stuff.
Can someone humour me, read my list and tell me what they are taking that Im not (which I may need/want)
Sorry I know we have prob been thru this a MILLION Times
10 knickers
2 bras
2 pair socks
2 PJs
1 Nightie
1 flipflops
1 v large towel
1 flannel
1 facial spritzer
lipbalm
hair stuff
toiletries
wetwipes
make up
nipple cream
breast pads
maternity pads
telephone list
baby announcement cards - with enveloped pre addressed & stamped
camera & spare memory stick
glucose tablets (lucozade energy ones)
MP3 Player / Book to Read
Baby Bag
Nappies
Wipes
Cotton Wool
Nappy Sacks (not sure if really needed but hey)
3 vests
3 babygrows
2 scratch mitts
1 hat
1 blankie
Dont see point in dressing gown, as A) heard hosp always v hot, and B) im quite happy to walk around in my PJs.
I'm LOVING being back at home and I'm LOVING being incredibly lazy  Because my mum came down for a few days there isn't any washing to be done and the house is lovely and clean  so I'm just chilling out as much as possible! Have contacted a reflexologist and an accupuncturist and am waiting for them to call back - hope I can get sessions with both of them in the next couple of days (bank balance going to be crippled but never mind  - it's all for beanette's sake  ) Have a leg and underarm wax this afternoon and will grab an iced coffee and a snack and sit in the sunshine afterwards.
Tomorrow I'm going to try and get my eyes checked so I can order new contact lenses and then I'll go and get a couple of nursing bras - what an exciting day
Nat - which hospital are you going to? Unless it's MINUTE (like 4 beds total) you'll probably find there's an antenatal bit and a postnatal bit so you may not be with the newborns. My top tip for a decent night's sleep is EARPLUGS - even though I was in a side room the road outside QCCH is REALLY busy and it was so hot I had to open the windows all night so the earplugs were a godsend.... They may offer you a sedative to help you sleep - I looked at them in horror but if I'd known it was my last chance of sleep for who knows how long I'd have taken it. Just something to think about  I totally lost control (I mean it - I was screaming at the madwives and telling them I was going to die  ) and all my stuff made it to the delivery suite so I think the magic fairy sorts that out  . I'd imagine your DH will be there by then so tell him beforehand that he's in charge of making sure the bags stay with you.
Anyway, better go and have a shower  - what a minger I am!!!!
Shamu
Shamu - sounds like you have a lovely few days lined up, must feel like real freedom after being in hospital/prison for so long!!
Nat - Your bags sound good to me. I think the only other things that I have packed are some snacks and drinks. My hospital has a big shop but I don't think it is open during the night so I thought I'd be prepared. Have packed a couple of bottles of lucozade, some cereal bars and some chocolate brazil nuts  Oh and some drinking straws.
Also have an empty sports bottle to fill with warm water for when I have a wee afterwards and a packet of moist toilet tissues. Sounds like I'm obsessed with going the loo but I've heard it can be painful!
Shamu & Keira thanks for the input.
Will definately be asking for sedative me thinks !
DH & I are going to Tesco tonight, so will buy some lucozade and snack things to put in my bag then. Also some drinking straws - thanks for reminding me!
Shamu, Fab that house is all clean & tidy and you can actually chill a bit, enjoy your shower you minger :teehee:
Right, off out in garden now.. catch up with you all later on. xxxxx
Nat I don't think your worries are stupid, totally natural. I guess that things will just happen though and everything will be ok. It's weird when you ask people who have had babies about the details and they have no idea so I guess your mind is elsewhere and what is important to you now won't be then. Sure everything will be ok my dear :thumb:
I just went out to buy grout (my life is so sexy what with all the grout!) and heard on the Radio 1 news who won the Apprentice, argh! They should have told me to turn off like the football scores! Ah well will watch it anyway for the entertainment.
God its scorching today and my puffy feet don't fit in any shoes, so guess I will just have to put them up!
p.s. I am taking my make up as well and I just coloured my hair in preparation! More cause I don't reckon I'll have time or the inclination after the event to f*nny about in the bathroom for hours at a time.
Afternoon girls
What a wonderful day!
Got back from hospital half hour ago, all stable so great news. At least I'll have the whole afternoon for myself! :ellie:
I agree with Shamu on the earplugs, it did help me sleep when I was at the ward over the weekend... Glad to hear you're back from hospital now, take it easy girl.
Congrats to all "engaged" ladies, it's great to know that things are going well.
Love this site too and the smillies are fab I particularly like this one :bunnydance: I'm obsessed with bunnies
Phew, it's hot! been out in the garden and have painted my nails as I won't get a chance soon! Been having LOADS of branstons but not painful. Nat I think my bag has almost exactly the same things in it, just remember your DH can bring in anything you need and have forgotten. I think I might ditch the dressing gown as well, it takes up too much space and pack some more cool clothes, I packed when it was still a bit chilly and now I'm thinking I won't need half the stuff I've packed!
Sai, So pleased you're stable, and have the whole afternoon to enjoy the sun.. having said that, I was out there for 30mins, and got WAY TOO HOT.. had to come back inside  Cant wait until I can tolerate the heat again like pre preg... I was a complete sunshine lover.. Could spend hours watching the world go by in the sun - ahhh bliss...
Going to invest in one of those UV filtered tent things for the baby next week I think.. You lie them in there, and they are completely protected from the sunshine, so I can sit and read book in garden or potter or whatever knowing little T is safe from nasty UVA/B rays
The smilies on this site ARE fab arent they? How sad are we to be swayed by such frivolity
:hatoff: This one is perfect for all those who made it all the way to official Mat Leave, and worked so hard to get there
:eating: This one is much better than the green one on HB that never really looked like someone scoffing food... more like someone about to be sick!
:butterfly2: is sadly what my little doggle just ate in the garden :sigh: she was chasing it, and then managed to actually jump and catch it, so Im a bit upset with her at the mo.
:stork-girl: and this is what is happening for me tomorrow !!!
(ok, enough with the smilies now Nat- get a life)
Oh Em, Yeah true that DH can bring stuff in with him.
The baby bag will be left in the car until needed, just taking my labour bag in with me.
Figure that what I wear TO the hospital, can be put in a carrier bag once I have changed into my PJs and put back in the car until we leave the hospital (wont be dirty as will only have worn it for an hour or 2 at the most) So Im getting all organised. Just need to remember to get DH to charge up my MP3 (I have no clue where the lead is for it) tonight, and Im all set.
Nat ditto on the sun tolerance. I can't bear to be outside at all, I overheat really quickly and my feet get even more swollen, no thank you... I too can't wait to be back to normal and get a tan, I look quite pale which is so not like me!
Naughty doggie! My dog Jack always used to eat flies and stuff, very nice!
 about the smilies, we're so sad aren't we?
I'm so excited for you for tomorrow, you'll have your baby for the weekend! Don't forget to bring loads of magazines and stuff as it can get quite boring sitting in there...

Hi all,
back from getting curtains and now regret parking on the other side of town to the curtain shop!!
ended up getting very hot and bothered getting back to the car :-(
but then, went into Sainsuburys to only get milk and all there bogof offers seemed to suit us so ended up spending Ģ24 but my total savings were Ģ19.80 !!  very pleased with myself and have some nice stuff in the freezer now, ran it down before moving and needed to restock before baby came so result!!
also, found out that Jilly Cooper has new novel out. I am a sucker for trash and she is the queen of trash. The perfect book for mat leave, so treated myself and now about to go and sit in garden and have a lttle read:smile:
Nat, think your lists are spot on, I would just add some vaseline, out antenatal teacher said to smear in on bubs bum when born and it makes the forst nasty black pooo much easier to get off. (think one of the new may mummies suggested it to.)
catch up later xxxxxx
Phew what a scorcher! :sunshine: Have just been over on the common for an hour or so but it's far too hot for me now! I also used to love sitting in the sun all day but now I feel as weak as an 80 year old woman! There were loads of people over there sunbathing, having picnics and drinking cold beers - can't wait to be able to do that again! Also quite a few mums with little ones in prams - hopefully that'll be me soon!
Nat - you sound very organised. That must be one of the nice things about knowing exactly when you're going to have your baby, you can make sure everything is perfectly ready!
Funky - :thumb: on those bargains!
Sai - I LOVE that bunny smilie! There really are some fab smilies at Damsels!!
RE: Nat's list!
OK here's what I think
Labour bag needs pared down - you could keep another bag in the car with your "post birth" stuff in it. Or a large bag for you and bubs iyswim
In my labour bag I'd have:
2 pairs of knicks
1 pair PJs/nightie
flipflops
1 v large towel (make sure it's dark coloured!)
1 flannel
1 facial spritzer
lipbalm
hair stuff
toiletries
wetwipes
maternity pads - 1 pack max
telephone list (well all the nos are programmed into my mobile so I wouldn't have this myself....)
camera & spare memory stick
glucose tablets (lucozade energy ones)
MP3 Player / Book to Read
snacks
water bottle (full of water  - once drunk will be filling it with warm water to wash my bits down  )
TENS machine if using
Rescue remedy - great stuff!
Comfy familiar pillows - I took my big bean bag one and a "normal" pillow and that helped keep me comfy even away from my own bed. The bean bag pillow is a feeding one too so last time was handy postnatally
EARPLUGS
In my postnatal bag I'd have:
Nappies
Cotton Wool
3 vests
3 babygrows
1 scratch mitts
1 blankie
3 muslins (could use as a blanket/swaddle - I think it's going to be a hot weekend)
3-4 more knickers - so that would be about 6 pairs in total and your DH can bring more in as necessary
a few breast pads (unless you're already leaking tonnes your milk won't start leaking until about day 3 so you'll have time to ask DH to bring more in if necessary)
feeding bras - 1 or 2 is ample
nipple cream
Arnica - really helps with healing down below and even if you have a c-section it will aid healing
Announcement cards etc
Comfy slouchy clothes/PJs/nighty

Don't know if this is any help!!!! And who am I to talk anyway, I unpacked everything last night and so still don't have a hospital bag to speak of  :teehee: I'd get DH to bring in the "going home" outfit so no need for a hat and you may not even need a blanket - the hospital will be v hot....
Sai - sorry you had a weekend in prison too but good to hear all is stable at the moment. Will keep my fingers crossed that it stays that way
Oh I'm sooo glad you all found your way over here - the smilies are ace especially :brainache: and :zombie: which is how we'll all be feeling in a few weeks
Am going to the GP in a wee while - should have cancelled but it's worth keeping him in the loop (and he can have a feel and see if he thinks she's still in my pelvis as I'm a bit suspicious that she may have moved again..... :scratchchin: ).

hiya all
have had lovely day. went into town and bought father's day cards (including one for mr S!!) as saw them and reminded self if bubs is late I won't want to be buying sutff like that nearer the time. Also couldn't resist buying a gorgeous babygro which says "I love my daddy" like the one on the Blooming Marvellous website....sooooo cute & Mr S will be well chuffed!!
Also went to M&S for some of their nice bread and ended up treating myself to all sorts of nice things for tea tonight as Mr S is away yummmm
Then popped round to a friend's house (armed with magnums!!) and sat in the garden watching her 2 yr old run round in the nuddy in her paddling pool!! Was lovely.
Got other friend coming for a cuppa after work soon then going to relax on the sofa eating my nice food till bed time...bliss
Keira - I am the only one who isn't "engaged" yet...well wasn't last week, so will have to wait till next week to see if it's moved - by which time loads more May babies will have arrived!!
Nat - can't stop thinking about you going in tomorrow lady...in case I dont get a chance later, hope all goes well & will be thinking of you sweetie. Just think baby T will be here this weekend....
Shamu - glad you can put your feet up and chill out...and Sai, great news about tests so you can chill too!
Have made a note of all those other bits I haven't yet got in my bag (which isn't actually packed yet anyway - must get on with that!) and will pick them up in supermarket tomorrow.
Right cup of tea time for me
catch you later
xx
Yay yay yay
:ellie: :ellie: :ellie:
Still head down and BP better than when I'm in hospital (now there's a surprise!)
She's not engaged though (so Mrs S you're not alone!) which gets me a bit concerned that she might pop out again, but we'll cross that bridge if/when we come to it.
May have found a name today  - can't let on though... Read it in a book
Better go and get some supper ready....
Shamu
oh, bad news  Mr pooch has been called up to Cambridge because they reckon his mum only has 24 hours left or so to live......
I feel soooo sorry for him. It has been such a hard time. They have known this was going to happen for months but the waiting and seeing his mum deteriorating with each visit has been heartbreaking for him. He will spend the night alone in his mum's house and I really wish I could be with him but I am just not capable of travelling all the way up there tonight so pregnant.
She is in a hospice with 24 hour pain relief and basically just sleeps all the time. We had wished so badly that she would make it to see the baby but it looks like that will not happen now...
I will keep you updated....
oh pooch - so sorry
Hope Mr Pooch is ok, god its so hard seeing your man upset, I hate seeing mr s like that....thinking of him (and you on your own too).
take care honey

Pooch- so sorry to hear that news. Must be very hard for both of you :flowers:
News from natnat- she text me before to say her broadband connection is down and she doesnt know when it will be mended so if we dont hear from her, thats what it is. It is tomorrow night she goes in to be induced though.
Its been scorching here this afternoon. Went to mums for lunch (eventually-tell you about that in a min!) then sat out in their garden and started burning:shock: so had to find sun cream sharpish! Got really hot though. Agree with what some of you have said re the sun whilst pregnant. I love hot weather normally but this weather is making me sooooooo tired. Plus my feet seem to be even more swollen than normal and thats saying something!
Anyway, had a stress late this morning- hadnt felt master brew move for ages so started panicking. Went to mums, she asked me about the baby and i burst into tears and rushed out again  and came home. Rang DH in hysterics, he told me to ring hospital but i was in such a state i couldnt talk. Decided to lay flat on the bedas this usually works and hey presto, he started shuffling. Eventually made it back to mum and dad's (who luckily are very understanding and extremely tolerant of me!) and all was ok. Felt stupid though but im just such a worrier
DH came home bout 4ish and we went down to the fishing lake (for a change!) The man that runs it said he half expects me to give birth there!  Was mega hot there so have come back now and going back 845 to pick DH up.
Glad so many of our babies are engaging now.
Shamu, great news that baby is still head down
Mrs s- your day sounded great, especially the bit about the magnums.
Could just eat some icecream but after getting on scales at mums today, dont think i should.
Have now put on 1 1/2 stone in weight. Not sure how 'bad' this is TBH but hoping i can get it off fairly quickly afterwards as i am planning ongoing back to the gym
just to say Mr pooch's mum died half an hour ago.......

Pooch - very sorry to hear your sad news, thinking of you and your DH :-(
Oh Pooch

I'm so so so sorry
Nothing I can add
We're all here if/when you need us

Pooch, Im so so sorry to hear your sad news.
I know that you & mr P must be devasted, There isnt anything anyone can say to make it better, and for that Im sorry too, All I can do is offer you a huge hug, and say (as wise shamu has) We are all here for you babes.
:hugs:
(I managed to get internet back up at 8am this morning, and am so relieved. I dont know how I would get thru today without you lot - Dh would have come home this afternoon to find me climbing the walls)
Nat glad you got your internet connection working! Well the big day is here for you! Try not to worry about it too much, you will soon be a mummy and hopefully all your spd problems will be a thing of the past. I'm thinking of you hun!
Pooch hope you are ok today, have been thinking of you.
I had another very bad night, my feet felt like they were on fire and very restless, I couldn't get comfy at all, my pelvis is agony and I've been having branstons all night, it's not really painful and my back seems to be aching all the time. Had some major cervix stabbing pain this morning and I was willing it to be doing something.
My mum is coming to stay for the weekend and I'm really looking forward to it, I 'm collecting her from the station later, hope the weather is ok, the forecast looks a bit dodgy, today is set to be another scorcher so have decided to strip our bed and wash the sheets, I love line dried bedding!!

Morning girls,
Glad you are back online nat.
Em- Ive had another cr*p night aswell.
Infact if im not around muchtoday dont worry as ive had acute diahorrea again with cramping pains all night and ive got a GP appointment at 9.50 on the advice of the day care unit at the hospital.
Also for some reason, ican barely walk at all, spd seems to have 'frozen' my pelvis area completely. Anyway, will tell the gp exactly how it is and hope she does something (dont know what!) Its not a gp ive seen before so i dont know what to expect.
Im sure ill get back on at some point later but if not, good luck nat, will be thinking about you this weekend sweetie. Take care xxx
Morning girls
Had a an "OMG is this it?" experience last night with a period of nearly two hours of strong/uncomfy BH's that were VERY low down (usually they're high up). Lay in bed with DH trying to calm him down   I mean, it's MY body that has to labour so why is he the one sitting bolt upright worrying about the fact my hospital bag isn't packed yet.... So I think I'll spend this morning sorting that out :teehee: Slept quite well once the pains died down but have had a few more this morning...
Can't get an eye test until Tuesday which is a bit  - going into central London on my due date isn't exactly what I had planned but needs must (my usual contact lens supplier won't give me more lenses until I've had my eyes checked over....)
I've decided to have a pedicure and manicure :manicure: this afternoon - nothing like a bit of pampering :ellie: and then I have my accupuncture session tomorrow so feel like I'll be ready. Shame about the eyes though  The reflexologist didn't call back so I'm going to give her another ring later today. It's our 11 year anniversary tomorrow so I've told beanette she can't come then!!! We're going to celebrate with sushi, champers :champers: and :adultcontent: Hopefully with the accupuncture that should get things moving
Nat - take today easy and enjoy relaxing :sofa:  At least the weather is nice  And in case I don't get back online before 6pm :luck: soon you'll have a :swaddle: :stork-girl: :babycool: :babycry: :baby: (sorry, just wanted to get as many smilies in as poss!!!)
Talk later!
Shamu
hiya all
Pooch - am so sorry. Big hugs to you and Mr Pooch...ditto what the others say, you know where we all are if you need us honey.
Brew, sorry you feeling poorly again - hope GP can sort you out. Take it easy today. Am with you on the being too hot thing - I can only manage an hour then I have to scamper for shade....bought a big floppy sunhat yesterday so can read my book a bit easier.
Nat - well today's the day. Glad you got your internet connection back up & running so you can take your mind off it. So exciting
I had loads of mad dreams last night and woke up feeling soooo excited about holding bubs soon!! Actually managed to sleep ok last nigth too. Woke up at 2.30 for an hour or so but then slept thru till 7.30 and fell asleep again until 9.30 when Mr S rang and woke me up!! bliss.
Another hot day here. Gonna potter this morning, pop to supermarket at lunchtime then relax in the garden. Mr S will be home at 6 and this is his last day working away so he will be v happy :ellie:
My parents are coming tomorrow too - v looking forward to seeing them. Bless him, my dad is making nice food to bring over with them so I am not even tempted to do any cooking this weekend!!
Right off to make a cup of tea
catch up later
mrs s xx
shamu posts crossed
oooh fingers crossed this is the start of it for you (but not on your anniversary!! ;) ) Sounds like you have nice plans for that....and v jealous of the pampering. I have booked hair appt for next week & need to sort out a bikini wax appt at some point too, ouch!
I had some funny sharp, almost shooting pains low down in my pelvis last night and for 1st time noticed I was waddling not walking...maybe bubs is moving downwards??!
Hi All :wave2:
Pooch - I am so sorry, am thinking of you & Mr Pooch. What an awful thing to have to go through. and as the others have already said, we're all here for you. :hugs:
Nat - Bet you're all on edge today and counting the hours! Am sure it will all go really well, how exciting to think you're going to have your little girl this weekend!
Mrs S - definitely sounds as if you're engaged now too! I have noticed that I've had a distinct waddle since becoming engaged too!
Shamu - Sounds like you have a fab anniversary lined up - sushi & champagne, 2 of my favourite things!!
Em - Also had a rubbish night's sleep again. My pelvis & hips are so painful now too that it makes me gasp in pain to turn over or lie in the same position. My pelvis also clicks & crunches very loudly all the time which is quite worrying! :puzzled:
Another nice day here again today but have hayfever this morning - does anyone know if I can take anything for it?
Supposed to be meeting my brother and his girlfriend for a drink & a meal tonight. Really looking forward to it - haven't met his girlfriend before so am quite nervous! Don't know what it is about little brothers and girlfriends but I always feel quite protective - she'd better measure up!!
Hello again all.
Didnt post much earlier, as just wanted to speak to Pooch rather than go on about myself IYSWIM.
Well, Last night "did" tesco. we have a smallish fridge/freezer so cant stock pile too much, but got the basics in there. Stocked up on soups, pasta etc so dont NEED to shop for at least 10 days, bar bread / milk. Picked up some isotonic drinks and some evian and a box of cereal bars, as well as moist toilet tissue as some WONDERFUL person suggested (sorry cant remember who)
Last night had a couple of glasses of wine to help me sleep, and managed to sleep from 10pm - 3.30am straight. Then dozed off & on until DH left for work at 6.30. Definately couldnt stay in bed any longer as mind racing.
So far this morning have stripped the bed, and washed all that, which is now drying, am going to wash all the towels and the dogs bedding (time permitting) and i *might* hoover and then mop the wooden floors (or leave that for DH when he gets home) Decided to brave driving (Havent driven for about 3 weeks now) and took doggles to the kennels myself this morning... Thought that seeing as we are paying for the whole day , I might as well get my moneys worth, and it means I can air the house and not have them under my feet. They will be in there until Sunday (all being well, so that was another £90 my purse was relieved of  )
So if I can get on with my jobs, then when DH comes home at 3.30 we wont be rushing around so much.
Sis is coming over for a quick coffee in a mo - cant imagine her being able to stop for more than half an hour, but at least its a bit of "real life" company for me.
Well I HOPE she's still coming over - said she'd be here at 11...
Cant explain how I feel today really. Kinda sick with nerves/excitement and apprehension I guess. Think doing the housework etc is going to help take my mind off it all.
Anyway, Im off to put kettle on... will chat to you all in an hour or so.
Brew - Hope you're Ok sweetie ???
Sorry everyone seems to be having bad sleeps...
Cant wait until I can sleep without pain (even if it is only an hour or two between feeds !! )
Pooch I am so sorry to hear about yout dh's mum, such awful timing, really feel for you all. :flowers:
NatNat good luck for your big day, I am sending lots of good vibes your way and hope everything goes well and as quickly as possible.
I had a terrible end of fay yesterday, ended up falling out with dh (over the bloody kitchen, the sooner this house is finished the better!) plus some other things upset me. Anyway all ended up ok as usual (we are rubbish at staying fallen out, both big softies really).
This morning even did a bit of :adultcontent: and I got all excited cause I had period pains afterwards but hasnt come to anything, in fact I think I actuallly now have a wee dose of cystitus!! so lots of water drinking for me today! joy!
Having a Royal Visit from dhs mum this weekend (not staying thank goodness and oh-what-a-shame our cooker isn't working so she will have to stay/eat with dh's sister and just pop in here) so have some bits and peices to do and hope to get the house looking all nice. Will not be taxing myself though as I am truly knackered, sleep is getting awful, like none. Last night I went to sleep at 10 and had woken up three times by midnight- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh. Anyway no point in moaning I suppose. I am finding it really hard not to read all the trashy magazines I have packed in my hospital bag (haha like I am going on holiday or something!).

Hi again,
Well going to the doctors was a f***ing waste of time. GP said she didnt know what was causing the recurring diahorrea, gave me urine and stool sample bottles to take back. She examined me and said that the baby is getting far too big for me now. Waited for her to tell me what she was going to do about it but she didnt , so I asked and she said 'Nothing. Inducement is a last resort only.' I explained i was in agony today with the spd and she had commented on how I basically couldnt walk but still, no, refused to do anything.
Nat- does this story sound familiar to you? :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit:
Im so fed up with it. Really hope something happens naturally soon.
Em and keira- sorry you two are getting the pains in bed now, its horrible isnt it? The warm weather doesnt help the sleeping either.
mrs s- the waddling def. sounds like you are engaged or engaging
Shamu- sounds like you have a nice weekend planned. Maybe the baby will decide to muscle in on the party?
Anyway, sorry to moan girls, going to go and have some sunshine now.
speak in a bit
x
Oh dear sounds like we are all starting to get fed up now, I've been madly cleaning the house in an effort to get things going, I really don't feel "right" today and my bump appears to be lower than ever. Mrs s I have a bit of a waddle too so it sounds promising! I also keep switching between hungry and feeling sick. Red - I thought I might have cystitis as well, no pain when I wee but I'm having to go every half an hour, maybe this is more to do with baby pressing on bladder even more??

Hello all,
Pooch, I am soo sorry :grouphug: Like the others have said we are all here ...
Nat, hope you are managing to relax to as well as all the housework!! not long now, :ellie:
Mrs S, your day yesterday sounds fab, hope today is as nice. I think the waddling also means that you are engaged- welcome to the club!!
Shamu, congrats on your anniversary, hope you have a lovely time.
Brew, :flowers: hope the day gets better and you are able to enjoy the sunshine.
My sleep was ok, but feel very large and uncomfortable today, skin still itching and feel really hormonal, hope is a sign that something is happening (but not unitll after the match tomorrow!!)
Red lou, sorry you and oh argued, we keep bickering to and usually never argue, think it is the waiting for something to happen and feeling in limbo. glad you have made it up now and hope weeked with family goes well.
Don't know about anybody else butI am struggling with clothes now. Have lots of winter/ spring mat clothes but nothing for summer :-( and feel soo hot and uncomfortable and fat!! doesn;t seem worth buyin thingss for last couple of weeks but.. had absolutely nothing this morning, have ended up in a pair of OH's shorts (and they are swimming shorts- yuk) :sigh: couldn't go out of house like this!! may just have to hide now for next couple of weeks!!
going to try to iron new living room curtains nopw although find standing for to long very hard so we shall see, catch up later xxx
Oh Pooch that's terrible news  I'm so so sorry to hear the news, hope your hubby is OK and take good care of yourselves
Will post a bit later on girls, been so busy this morning and now I'm absolutely starving!
Oh Brew  So sorry its all being so awful for you at the mo ! No fun honey, and I can sypathise 100000%
I have been so let down by NHS most of the way thru this preg, I cant see me ever wanting to do this again!
I Have news from Tigerstripes !
Baby Daniel Aaran Crew has arrived! 7lb 1oz, Mum & Baby doing well, albeit very tired
Dont know *when* he arrived, as thats all the text said ( I recvd the text at 11.45 this am ) But I texted back a huge congrats from all the May Mummies.
Well Sis has been and gone, was a bit emotional, its a long story, dunno if you lot remember but I only got back in touch with her 1 year ago after falling out with her / BIL / My Mum & Brother big style and not talking/seeing her for 2.5yrs. (Only started talking to my mum again this year) She (sister) has issues with my DH, and is worried about how she'll get to see baby. I told her DH hasnt got issues with HER, so she's welcome to come to the hospital or round here, but she doesnt want to if he's there  Didnt want to get into argument about it, so basically said, Im sure that she'll be able to see us in hosp, and DH will "give us some space" but inside I feel torn.
I know why she has issues with Dh, but it was all such a long time ago, and she should be old enough and mature enough to let bygones be bygones, and tbh, I am cross that she hasnt, but I dont want to rake it all up again, and cause another big fall out. Grrrr. I know that DH will be fine about giving me & sis half hour together, he's sweet like that, and wont mind, but I DO. Why should he have to leave us to it and be pushed out ? I just dont know what to do...
Since we have been back in touch, I either go and meet my sister in town for lunch, or she has come over here for coffee (when DH is at work) but she point blank will not see me WITH dh, even when we were round the corner from her work, having lunch one day, I asked if she fancied joining us, and she said she wasnt "comfortable" with that... Fine, I have been understanding as much as I can, but now I just feel more than ever the rift that is still lying there between us all :(
Congrats Tigerstripes :ellie: :ellie: :ellie:
Look forward to seeing piccies and birth story soon.
Hels just has logged in Handbag, have told her to come here so hopefully she'll pop in sometime soon... she's posted a piccie of Megan and she's soooo adorable :lurve:
Ooh isn't Hels' little girl adorable? I feel so broody and emotional now - my baby had better arrive v. soon!!
Brew - sorry you had such a rubbish appointment today - get yourself down to the fishing lake, that'll make you feel much better!
Nat - Families can be so awkward & stubborn can't they? :higgies: Life is far too short to hold a grudge. Hope your sister comes round when your little one is born - babies have a knack of healing all sorts of rifts. I know if I wasn't having a baby soon, my brother & I probably wouldn't have made up so quickly...
Hope Hels finds her way over soon!

Thanks sweetie. I feel quite let down today and generally my care has been good up to now. Im hoping the MW will be more sympathetic on Monday.
Brill news about tiger stripes!!! Bet she is worn out, poor love, it went on such a long time for her! Cant wait to see a piccie of him. Thought it was about time we had another boy! Cant remember what I 'predicted' for tiger. will have to sift through the may mums thread on t'other side to have a look.
Nat- I agree with what Keira said about babies healing rifts. You may be suprised. I guess only time will tell. Your priority right now today and for the next few days is to you and the baby ONLY!
Funky- I have nothing to wear either. I am roasting in my denim skirt but its the only mat. skirt I have and all my trackies are far too thick for this weather. I may have to resort to DH s shorts if this weather continues
x
Great news about TigerStripes!! :cheer2: Super name as well, I really like Daniel.
Em- I am at the loo every half an hour anyway, think my bits just got a bit of a shock DTD, it has been a wee while! haha. I am waddling as well and my public bone now aches every time I move, which is a lovely added bonus, I feel!
Brew- I am having recurring bouts of the runs as well, hopefully just our bodies clearing themselves out. Better constantly now than all over some poor mw! :tissues:
Funky- thanks for your msg about the fighting, agree I think its the nerves and the not knowing etc etc.
Also struggling with the clothes thing, living in two outfits and neither of them are summery. Got a cheap long materniy skirt off ebay that arrived this morning so hopefully with a t-shirt that will be a vaguely respectable and cool thing to wear- in the cold sense, not the "cool" sense, I now realise pregnancy and "cool" are not related in any way!

 at the tissues pic!! Thats great
I hope you are right about the clearing out thing redlou. I also think that the baby is squashing my bowels too Its just the cramps that goes with it. Every time they start, i think, oooh, is this it? Then it stops once the diahorrea has passed
Redlou- I have been snapping at DH quite a bit this week and to be fair to him, he has done nothing wrong. He has been great with me all through my preg. but i think its just anxiety kicking in for all of us now.
Glad you made up though
Re the snapping/ rowing, I think it must be fairly common  I have been very snappy with DH the past week or so.. Its the hormones, anxiety, nerves etc all kicking in... and who do you take it out on.. the person closest to you
Dh and I had a spat last night, which resulted in him going out for an hour to let me calm down, but him "leaving" me made me even more cross. Then when he got back I was bickering with him about how we should have been making the most of our last night together, not him leaving me all alone  He couldnt do right for doing wrong last night
So, have just ironed my t-shirt and trackie bottoms I shall be wearing to hospital, and ironed DH 3 t-shirts and his jeans, so he doesnt have to worry about it, and wont be turning up at hospital all crinkled over the weekend (he's fab at ironing, but doubt he'll want to waste time doing that if he's on his way to see me - he'll just throw on any old thing ) He is going to be so shocked when he gets in... I dont "do" ironing.. its something he does.. dont think I have ever ironed him anything in over 3.5 yrs of marriage! (But hey, kept me occupied for 20 mins)
Just watched Neighbours. Now just over an hour till DH gets home.. Going to put another load of washing in, and then have soak in bath I think - except its a bit hot to enjoy properly, but will be the last uninteruppted bath I have for several years I imagine !!!
hiya all
just back from supermarket. god getting hard to lug stuff in & out of car now!! Spent a small fortune too - oops. Oh well nice dinner tonight to celebrate Mr S finishing working away! So going to chill out now in the garden. Had mad thunder storm while I was out and torrential downpour but sun is out again now.
:ellie: TS - congrats honey!! Can't wait to see pics....ooooh I am sooo excited about my baby now!
Nat - blimey lady sit down and get some REST this aft - sounds like you are being a proper widow twanky with all that washing!!
hot weather, hormones, nerves etc all = snappy wives/girlfriends....totally natural. Mr S gets his head bitten off for no reason either....poor thing!
Brew :sigh: about they way you were treated today. Chin up honey, not long now. Hope MW is better on monday.
I have had couple of bouts of the runs too lately on & off.
Will go and check out Hels piccie
Oh and Shamu - you know you mentioned arnica yesterday for bruising - did you mean the cream or can you get it in tablets?? Didn't think cream would be much use on bits down below?! was looking at it in sainsburys but didn't buy any until I checked!
mrs s xx
Right, Have realised that with stuff still to do (Am serioulsy nesting) and the fact that I need to pluck eyebrows and have a top to toe defuzz / shower etc and am leaving for the hospital in 2 and a quarter hours! I better say goodbye
The next time I log on, I will be in hospital, and *hopefully* a mummy! If labour doesnt progress I can see myself sat here talking to you all tomorrow morning from my hospital bed ! (Thank god for those bedside computer/tv/phone thingys!!)
So goodbye for now May Mummies ! :wave2:
GOOD LUCK natnat!!
take care - will be thinking of you
x
Bye Nat! Best of the May Mummies luck to you!
Good luck Nat Nat! Hope it all goes well and look forward to hearing from you with good news soon :cheer2:
I'm with you on the clothes girls, have hardly anything to wear anymore and it's so hot down here in London...
Have just been inundated with phone calls from work as they've found out about "she" being a "he" and obviously it has amused everyone so much :teehee:
Brew, I'm not surprised you're down today, let's hope your midwife on Monday is more supportive
Mrs S, my midwife recommended arnica tablets (strength 200, it's a homeopathic remedy) which you can take from the beginning of labour, apparently it does wonders for healing faster...
I'm incredibly snappy with hubby most of the time... everything seems to just wind me up! I'm nesting really badly and want the house clean and tidy before next week as I know it'll all be chaos once the baby arrives, but he just seems happy potting around the garden or playing with his new phone whilst leaving me doing all the housework  Sorry, rant over, I must chill :meditate:

Am sitting here :teehee: at the thought of arnica cream on your bits  Sorry!!! Meant the arnica tablets - you can use them during the labour (every 4 hours) and after birth too (again, every 4 hours). Good whether you have a normal delivery or a c section.
Lavender oil added to the bath water or to a bidet full of water when you sit in it is also nice and once some of the healing has occurred, tea tree oil could be used (it's an antiseptic so will help keep everything "hunky dory" so to speak).
Rescue remedy is great for use during labour (especially around transition when you feel "OMG there's no way I can do this"). It is also good for flagging spirits if you're having a v long protracted labour and for your birth partner when he/she gets down and exhausted.
 Bye NatNat and GOOD LUCK  :cheer2:  :flowers:
Well done TigerStripes - is anyone keeping a record of who had what and when? My ticker on the other side is sadly very defunct!
Better go - got a load of washing to hang up, then collecting James from the childminders so we can go and play in a friend's garden :ellie:
Shamu
thanks shamu - fortunately my brain kicked in before I bought the cream!! they didn't have tablets in there, so will have to go to holland & barrett. think will invest in some rescue rem too...that would have sent me into orbit had I applied a liberal layer of arnica cream     :teehee:
god have just sat in garden for half an hour and that trip to the supermarket must have taken its toll - I couldn't walk again when I tried to get up...pelvis soooo painful I am like a little old woman hobbling. Onto the gym ball me thinks
x
Good luck Nat - Hope it all goes really well :cheer2:
Mrs S - good job you asked and didn't buy that arnica cream! I imagine that that might have "smarted" a bit!! Enjoy your nice meal tonight (all your cooking always sounds soooo delicious!)
Have also been very snappy with DH recently - feel awful about it as he is the most unargumentative person ever  Last night I had a go at him about him being sloppy with text messages and making sure that he spelt & punctuated everything correctly when sending the baby's birth announcement text! Poor bloke, he is so patient and lovely, just takes it all in his stride..
Shamu - thanks for reminding us about Rescue Remedy, will go and pop that in my bag now. Actually really like the taste of it - a bit like brandy! Wish I could take in a real bottle of brandy but somehow don't think that would go down very well in hospital

Afternoon ladies!
here at last - good site - well done!!!
Hope all is well - I have a mass of catching up to do, but frankly can't! So will rely on checking hte main posts I think for a while!
Saw BF expert yesterday - managing to burst into tears in front of everyone - she must be used to it. All a bit better now, but still painful :(
Trying to get out each day, but so knackering. test you can use those prams ladies!!!
:ellie: :cheer2: Yay Tripod - you made it over here!! :cheer2:
yay Tripod -good to "see" you!! glad you doing well honey...I can see me having a nightmare with pram...
Keira, your DH sounds like mine, patience of a saint. Still would LOVE to see how they coped with all this for a short while, bet they'd be pants!!
Probably way too late but GOOD LUCK Nat Nat, I'm sure everything will be fine!
Big congrats to Tigerstripes! Will have to go and check out Hels picture as well.
Tripod - Great to hear from you honey, glad you found us!
Been pottering about this afternoon, the phone calls have started, had 3 this afternoon just to see how I was, said I was fine but the real answer was "Hot , bothered and dying to get this baby out!!" Had branstons and backache all afternoon, but that's no different from normal!
Just put our bedding back on the bed and noticed that the corner of our bedroom on my side of the bed smells like gas/tar  really can't work it out, there are no gas pipes there, the only thing is the gas meter is on that wall, downstairs obviously, but I went down and sniffed all around and no gas smells at all??(the neighbours must think I'm mad!!) OH is home in 15 mins so I will get him to sniff, I'm always smelling things he can't and it's probably in my imagination! I was getting myself in a right state thinking the house might blow up! Have shut the door and opened all the windows.
Right, enough of my paranoia, I'm off to collect my mum soon, can't wait to see her!:cheer2:
right gonna log off now - looking forward to an expensive glass of red to celebrate with Mr S...
May log on in the morning before my parents arrive, but then prob wont get on much rest of weekend.
So have a good one all, hope we all sleep well tonight

hope you enjoy the match was woken up this morning by OH with a massive West Ham t-shirt for me to wear!!:cheer2: :cheer2:
very excited everybody, we have waited 26 years for this!!!!! I think it could be our day as I was 8 last time we won and LO is 8 this year.- very good football omen!!
and Mrs S, lets see if the excitement gets us going a little!!!
everybody else hope you all slept well, and are having good days. Nat is you manage to log on at all hope all is going well.
TS congrats!!:ellie: :flowers: :ellie: :flowers:
speak later xxxx
Hope you enjoyed your wine Mrs S, I have been more partial than ever to wine over the last few weeks, I actually fancy a glass now, though I think drinking in the morning is probably not a good idea!
TMI ALERT: I had a large amount of mucusy stuff this morning (hope no one is reading this over their cornflakes). Have done some searches on here and t'other side and I don't think its a show as not pink but hopefully something might be happening, I don't think I am going in to labour but at least there is some action down there, perhaps a bit of preparation. Ha though probably still have weeks to go! I'm looking out for any old signs just now.
morning guys
Yes Funky - agree let the best team win on the day...these things can always go either way. Hope it doesn't start anything for me as Mr S is away on a stag do today/tonight  . God my mum will be so excited though!!
Red yes I did enjoy my wine last night...though had a headache this morning...hope was due to no bloody sleep again and not the 1 glass of red I had, surely I can't be that much of a shandy-pants?!
Right, off to dip strawberries in choc for pudding tonight and make a nice tuna/bean salad for lunch before parents arrive.
Funky - enjoy the match

Afternoon ladies!
How are we all today?
I have decided i need to start the pineapple, RLT, curry etc etc things again to try and kick start things seeing as its now exactly 1 week till my due date  Obviously having a very low bump and a fully engaged baby does not necessarily = an early labour!
Had tea outside a pub by the canal last night. Was so lovely. Prob last time of doing stuff like that for a bit seeing as the weather has now gone completely pants here!
Tripod- good to see you! Hope things are going well. Get practising with that pram! How is your diabetes now? Hope that will go soon.
Rescue remedy- what exactly is this stuff? Have heard of it but thats about it
Mrs s- you sound like a fab cook. So cosmopolitan!
FA cup final- well we have bets on first goal scorers. Mine is no goal scorer in full time, DHS is Harewood and master brews  is Crouch. So we shall see.
Mrs s and funky- hope you both enjoy the match
Keep thinking about Nat being stuck in hospital. She is my date 'twin' so im a bit  everythime i get a text throughon my phone. Still, it could be ages yet I guess.
Been to the auction this morning but didnt buy anything for once. Stayig in now wathing footie and horse racing and doing odd jobs. TBH, dont really feel like being far from home at the mo. which is a huge turn around for someone who never used to be at home at all at the weekends, we were always off walking, camping etc.
Redlou- I ve had tiny bits of more mucusy discharge over the past few days too. I think its part of the 'preparation' so to speak.
Em- hope the smell you discovered turned out to be nothing. My nose has been very sensitive all the way through my preg. which can be a bit annoying at times.
Right off to get a drink, speak later.
x
Hi All,
The 13th of May and cup final day but no baby yet! I had a dream months ago that he'd arrive today but he'd have to get quite a move on for it to be proved true!
Funky & Mrs S - hope you enjoy the match and may the best team win!!
Had a thought last night that of all us still waiting to give birth, apart from Shamu we are all expecting boys (Me, Brew, Red, Funky, Pooch & Sai) and Em & Mrs S I suspect you could be too! My theory is that boys are far lazier than girls - can just picture my baby sat in there with his feet up having a snooze with no intention to move unless he's good & ready!
Anyway, I've decided to try to be more patient now. He's still not due for another 4 days and within a couple of weeks he'll definitely be here and we'll have him for a lifetime so a few extra days/weeks of waiting seem fairly insignificant I suppose.. just trying to be positive! :sunglasses:
Hope you're all having a good weekend. I'm just chilling this afternoon as DH is watching the match and then I've got a bottle of cava in the fridge and will have some watching Dr Who...also got a lovely sea bass for tea - yum! :champers: :dinner:
Brew - You can get Rescue Remedy in Holland & Barrett and in Boots. It's in a little bottle and is a homeopathic remedy - you just put a few drops on your tongue and it's supposed to relax you. I think it works, I usually take it before going to the dentist, interviews and flights... worth a try anyway!

Hey girls I made it over here!!! I now have my laptop back in working orde so will now be back on line everyday!!! Yippee I sure have missed chatting away!!
I am fine apart from thinking every twinge and ache is me going into labour!! Last night I was sure it was time I was having regular strong BH for about 2 hours and at my last MW appoitment I was told baby is 4/5 engaged!
Hello everyone!
Congrats Mrs s and bad luck Funky!, I just turned over to watch the last 2 penalties.
Well, me and mum had a great time shopping this morning, by the time we got to do saisburys I was in agony! my bump has really dropped in the last few days and I'm still having regular branstons, sometimes they hurt but most of the time they are ok. I have been having quite alot of discharge as well, but no signs of blood or anything, sometimes it's a bit watery and I think I've wet myself or my waters have gone! Mum is now cooking us a curry so maybe that will help things along a bit, don't know if I can convince OH to DTD, he's determined Geordie has to wait until next week as he has lots to do at work:rolleyes:
I hope Nat is Ok and we hear some news soon, I was wondering, Laurena is my buddy, do you think I should text her and let her know where we are?
 Lovely bubbly, glad you made it!
 Lovelybubbly - glad you made it over here!

Hi Em - sorry, our posts crossed. I reckon perhaps you should text her or if not, if she posts your birth announcement on HB, one of us can keep checking and then post on Damsels too...
 at your Dh telling you to hang on, mine has been telling me to hold on until after the FA cup final!
Hope the curry does something!

Em- re laurena- I pmed her about here. Not sure if she has been able to poen it though. Maybe you could text her.
Hiya lovely bubbly, glad you got my pm! We are all with you on the 'is this it' twinges thing!
Keira- I agree with your theory on boys   Infact i have read somewhere that more boy babies are overdue than girls. Thanks for the tip on rescue remedy. Think i will get some.
Right, im off as dance fever is back on soon! Speak tomorrow.
x
Evening, was just popping in to see if there was any news from Nat.
Had a very uncomfy day, off to bed now.
Night ladies x
Hi girls
Will text Laurena later, I expect she has her hands well and truly full with her girls!!
I was also logging on to check for news from Nat, isn't Tiger her buddy? I expect she's busy as well!
I also had an uncomfy night, Branstons are coming quite regularly now and I was in a bit of pain last night. Managed a reasonable sleep except where I turned over and stretched at one point and got a terrible pain in my groin. It went away after a while. Also my tummy/guts have been making some very loud and weird gurgling and I think I may be in for a bit of a runny tummy:-(
I am a bit worried about the discharge I'm getting, It can be a bit watery at times and I was reading in my book if this happens it could be my waters leaking a bit, if this is the case it's been going on for a few weeks now, I know some of you have had the same thing, it looks pretty normal and there's not LOADS of it?
Anyway, I'm getting hungry, I'm the only one up and everyone else is still asleep.
Hi everyone,
Haven't heard anything from Nat either... TS is her buddy but I guess she'll be busy with her baby. I do have her number so I may text her to wish her well in a bit.
Em, I'm having loads of discharge too and sometimes it is a bit watery so who knows what's going on in there! Let's just hope it means things are gonna happen soon! Glad you're having a good time with your mum.
You found us LB, it's nice in here :ellie:
Hope the rest of you are OK girls. What a match yesterday, I don't usually watch much football but quite enjoyed it...
We're off to hospital for another check up today so I will be back on later on.
Hopefully we'll hear some good news from Nat today :cheer2:
See you later ladies

Oh, its quite alot when i think about it! Nat was my date twin so i was beginning to think i was one of a very few left.
Tried fresh pineapple and bouncing on my gym ball yesterday and even sone :lovin: this morning. My bump is very very hard but thats all so far so we'll have to see!
Em- Ive been having watery discharge for a couple of weeks and cant decide whether its my waters or whether im just leaking tiny amounts of urine  due to rubbish pelvic floor muscles and the fact that the baby's head is engaged. Will mention it to MW tomorrow.
Its my mums birthday today so better get going.

Hi Ladies,
Lovely news about Nat and Helski (have I forgotten anyone?) and hope the rest of you get going soon!
Lovely Bubbly, you were my May Mums Buddy but I'm afraid I never did get round to texting you with Arun's birth details - as it was all a bit of a rush in the end, I didn't take my phone to hospital and then DH had already posted by the time I came home. So sorry!
Hope everyone's ok. We're now beginning to feel the lack of sleep and the difficulty of a demanding toddler acting up a bit. Ah well, I'm sure it'll all settle down soon. Nobody said it would be easy ....

Anyway I cant remember the last time I gave you all an update on me and my bump so here goes!!!
Work
I am now on m/leave and have been for the last 2 weeks, Yippee so I am now a chilled out may mummy!! On the work/redundancy front for some very strange reason unknown to me they are no longer wanting to persue making me redundant ! I think it might have something to do with the hissy fit I had when it come to light they were breaking the law and not following the correct process:scratchchin: but I could be wrong:tongue:
Antenatal Classes
I have may last one this tuesday coming and I am the only mum due in may everyone else is not due till the end of June start of July! I dont think I will be making myself any lasting friendships there, all the mums are around 15/16/17 and from the local estate, not being snobbish but not really the kind of people I would have much in common with! Shame really as I was really looking forward to meeting some funky new mums! The classes are rushed and to be honest I have found out most of it from my books but its an afternoon out for me at least and it is amusing to see what the estate trash mums are wearing!
Midwife
Its not I dont like her but she just bugs me! As this is my first ever pregnancy I just wish she would give me more information!!! Tuesday I had + protein in my wee and also I had swollen hands and feet she didnt seem concerned nor did she tell me the level of protein, she sent me home to read my book and almost panic myself to death thinking I had pre-eclamps thingy as from what I was reading I had two out of the three main symptoms! Anyway my mum and oh mum were worried too but it turns out I am fine but the silly Midwife could have told me the this on tuesday. I am still only getting seen every two weeks which is pants given the above and I know for a fact it should be every week now for my area anyway. The reason she is not seeing me this tuesday and not till the following is because she has a meeting:sigh: Nevermind I have booked into the Doctors, he will check me over if she cant be arsed!
House
The wonderfull 5 month bathroom project is now finished!!! Now we just have our bedroom , the stairs and finishing off in the nursery to do! I have been promised my nursery will be done by next weekend but to be honest I am not holding out because he did promise the bathroom would be finished weeks ago! Thank god I have the loft all kitted out ready for me and baby!
Anyway thats about all my news really!
:cheer2: :ellie: Congratulations to Nat! :cheer2:
Glad it's all over for her, really hope that her SPD dissapears very quickly - she's really been through it recently, I'm sure Tallulah's worth it though!
Had my first false alarm this morning - had some really intense period like pains for an hour or so on and off. I've been having cramps for the past few weeks but these were different and actually pretty painful but they've dissappeared completely now so I guess he's not coming today! :sigh:
Em & Brew - Have also been having the watery discharge for a few weeks now. I did worry at first that it was my waters but I think we'd know if it was that - there is a lot of it though (sorry TMI!)
Well, my baby is due in 3 days now but I wish someone would tell him that! :sigh: I think he is now fully engaged as my bump is very low down but don't think that means anything necessarily. With all these birth announcements, I can't help thinking "where's my baby?!"...:yeahright:

Congrats Nat
Hi ladies
I'm still hanging in here too. Had bad backache again last night, but somehow managed a full 6 hours solid sleep before waking up for a wee.
Just a few twinges today, but I think I'm gonna be around for a few days yet. I'm in no rush though, every day is a bonus, as I know my life will never be the same again. Maybe next weekend I'll start the currys and pineapple, oh and I was told that schwepps tonic is good, something to do with the quinnin in it!!
TTFN
Cant be bothered to sort out my ticker, but today I'm 40+4 8)
I'm in no rush though, every day is a bonus, as I know my life will never be the same again.
I think this is a really good philosophy Ellie and one that I'm going to try to think about too every time I get impatient!
You're another one expecting a boy as well aren't you?!!
Thanks for the update LB - haven't heard much from you for AGES... at the Jeremy Kyle types at your antenatal classes!
Just wanted to let you know I'm still here :wave2:
I think I may actually be ready to have this baby now
Don't know how we did it (must have been the :champers: ) but we fell asleep by 1030 last night and didn't wake up until 9 this morning :faint: . Even James slept in :ellie: I felt better than I have done in ages (even if we didn't get any :adultcontent:  - will be hoping for some action tonight instead  )
Today I went to Brent Cross and picked up all the remaining bits and bobs - nursing bras (they're hideous btw - I'm such an awkward size they didn't even do them in black , stronger arnica tablets, glucose tablets, a couple of nighties, some pineapple  and some contact lens solution.
So, can someone tell madam it's all ready now (even if we're still arguing about her name  )
Elliesma - your philosophy is fab  That's how I was with James (and to some extent am this time round - if I wasn't being threatened with an induction on Weds I'd be more than happy to go past my due date  ) It's a bit strange the second time round though as you're sort of hoping that you can sort stuff out rather than be caught short but it's also a bit difficult to pick up a heavy toddler or let him clamber over your belly whilst having a run of Braxton Hicks
I'm going to pack my bag tonight (having spent 9 days in hospital I really didn't want to think about going back again, but I'm ready now!) and I may write a very concise birth plan.... Woo hoo!!!
Talk soon
Shamu

Hiya ladies!
Sending lots of birthing vibes.... :) Of the pain free variety of course!
Keira - those pains sound promising though!
I've realised that all those classes on labour where fab, but my god I should have done some on bringing a baby home! Getting better at dressing her now. Can be very quick with nappies when she is yelling!
Having the most horrid boob pain though, the whole bf thing has been very very hard indeed. I never thought I'dfill the nursing bra I bought, but I don't htink it's big enough
Wish I'd taken a photo of the nursery too, it is now a bomb site!
Fingers crossed for all of you - speedy births and speedy home!

Tripod- boob pain must be horrid. Still scared about BF TBH. Good on you sticking with it though, must be hard sweetie :flowers:
Elliesma- I agree with your philosophy, i just wish i was more patient like you! I really need to chill out about it!
Shamu- hope you get the :lovin: tonight
Keira- hope those pains do turn into something for you. Us may mummies could write a book about false alarms I think
Lovely bubbly- loved your recount of your antenatal classes
Went out for late sunday lunch (4pm) for my mums birthday. Was lush but will pay for it after as had choc. sponge trifle for dessert AND coffee so master brew will prob be bopping away most of the night  Soooo tired though now. Eating just zaps my energy at the moment.
Got MW appointment tomorrow am so catch up later on tomorrow girls.

Hi everyone,
BIG congrats to Nat! Glad Tallulah is here safe, can't wait to see piccies! :cheer2:
Had a lovely day with my mum, went to the garden centre and bought some plants for the garden which is now looking lovely. Had lovely roast beef for dinner which my mum cooked most of as I was feeling tired and my back was really aching. I had a bath and the ache didn't really go away and it has been getting worse all evening, also been having some painful branstons. Even put my tens on for a bit to see if it would help, it did but it was a very strange sensation. I'm off to bed now as I'm quite uncomfortable:-(
Will see you all in the morning unless something happens overnight!!! (although I don't expect it will)
Did anyone else see DG on the cover of the observer magazine? She looked really glam!
hello all
had to get up at 5.30 as no way could get back to sleep again...though did manage to get to sleep at 10.30 and sleep almost through to 4.30..so not too bad, must have been the :adultcontent:  !!
Had lovely weekend - pottered round town with mum on sat am, though had to keep telling her to slow down! Then back for the match - my god I really thought I was going to go into labour when that 3rd Lpool goal went in on 91 mins....somehow I leapt off the sofa and then bitterly regretted it. Had to watch pens from behind a cushion. Great game, but I really felt for you funky & the WH fans...Called my 91 year old gran after (huge sports fan) and she had had to open a bottle of wine to get her through the game   (she was watching it on her own!!)
Dad cooked lovely meal for us & my sis & her finance came over too. so was fun.
Mr S was back from his stag do by 10.30am yesterday  rock & roll do it must have been! So we had lovely day mooching with my parents and they took us to Betty's Tea Rooms for afternoon tea - yumm!!
Have been having some stabbing sharp pains low down in my pelvis this weekend, so think bubs is moving down (i hope so!). Mr S is now having SERIOUS doubts about going to this wedding, so I am not sure if he will go now....the closer it gets the more he is going off the idea. (I really hope not but I dont want to force it)
Great news about Nat - hope she is doing well, sounds like it was tough. Can't wait to see pics of all these may babies.
Good to "see" you Tripod - sounds like you are getting on just fine.
GLad you made it over LovelyBubbly
Hope some of those twinges you other girls are feeling turn into something v soon....
Weather is rubbish now up here - and just as I bought myself a new sunlounger at the weekend  must have jinxed it! Which means day in front of cr@p TV for me today...which I will prob need after getting up this early
well might go back to bed for a bit now. catch up later
mrs s xx
Mrs s I had a dream about you going into labour last night - how weird!!
I had a very crap sleep, the pains carried on till about 3am and then just fizzled out?? I really was beginning to think something might be happening but I feel fine this morning! I'm beginning to see a pattern forming, the pains and branstons start at about 5pm and every night they are getting worse so maybe my body is just building up and practicing! I hope it won't be too long till the real thing! I was in tears last night because it was so uncomfortable and I just didn't know if it was the real thing or not! I'm so worried that I'll be one of those people who passes off labour pains as not being too bad and before I know it I'm 10cm dilated and ready to push and not even in hospital yet!!
Oh listen to me moaning! Weather is cr@p here too so after I've taken my mum to the station it will be daytime TV for me too!
Hello, Mr Sai (husband) here,
just to let you know Sai is spending a couple of days in hospital while they monitor her blood pressure and various other bodily fluids..
She's fine, just a bit bored :sigh:
The doctor has seen her this morning and told her that they will assess her again tomorrow, when she will will either get a due date for induction or will be sent home to sit it out a bit longer.
Hope you are all well
Matthew
oh god em - don't start telling me about dreams I have gone into labour!!
Sounds like your body is def getting ready...hopefully it won't be long for you now.
Thanks for letting us know about Sai too Mr Sai! give her our love, poor thing being stuck in hospital, but at least she is in the right place
went back to sleep till 10am after being up so early which was cool.
Morning Girls
So the begininng of another week - wonder who will pop this week then? Obviously Sai and Shamu but I wonder if anyone else will?
Mr Sai - thanks so much for the update on Sai. Please give her our love and let her know we're thinking of her. :flowers:
Em - your pains definitely sound as if your body is gearing itself up.
Mrs S - your weekend sounds fab! at your Gran opening a bottle of wine to get her through the match!! It certainly was exciting, my DH still hasn't stopped raving about it...
Tripod - lovely to hear from you. BFing sounds v. painful, it's definitely something that I'm worrying about too :higgies:
Brew - good luck at the MW today
I'm seeing mine on Wednesday which is my due date, I expect that she will book me in for a sweep etc. I don't mind that but I really hope I don't have to be induced.. Am still getting cramps on and off but then they just disappear every time I get my hopes up :sigh:
Have also been really dozy today. I rang to renew my TENS machine for another 2 weeks and even though it was written down in black & white, I didn't realise that I've got it anyway until 2 weeks after my EDD - they must have though I was really dim but renewed it all the same. Anyway I now have it until the 14th of June, I really hope he hangs around until then - that would make me 4 weeks overdue!!
I really hope he hangs around until then - that would make me 4 weeks overdue!!
I meant I really hope he DOESN'T hang around until then! See told you I was dozy today!
Hope I haven't tempted fate now!
Congrats to all the new mummies.
I WANT TO GO NEXT!!!!!
I had an appointment at the mw today and I had to make another one for next week and i really really really want to have the baby before then
Fingers crossed for everyone to go soon
hmmm quiet today ladies....wonder if there are any more may mummies on the way?!:puzzled:
Andie - hope you don't have long to wait!
Hmmm, it is very quiet! Perhaps we're the only ones left?!!
Nothing happening here at the moment but I did have 5 hours of pain last night which got me a bit  and a bit:ellie: In fact, I sat down on my ball and scribbled a birth plan at 4am which my DH finds hilarious  All settled by around 5 am but I was so shattered I rang the childminder and begged her to have James today.
My feet have ballooned and I can't find any shoes to fit :-( - don't know what to do!!! All my flip flops are in storage and even changing the setting of my Birkies isn't enough
I'm wondering who's going to be next - BJMac is due quite soon and hasn't posted for a while....

Hiya girls :wave2:
Well, im still here too.....
Saw MW this am then went to mum and dads for lunch and ended up staying ages because a)Had a bit of a dizzy do and mum wouldnt let me drive home for a while. Im fine now though and
b) One of my super comfy kangol flat mules (basically the only shoes i can wear now as my feet are so huge- with you on that one shamu!) decided to fall apart  so had to wait whilst dad stuck it back together with super glue
Anyway- MW appointment- everything was fine but she has made me an appointment at the hospital for Thuursday as the baby is getting big. Not sure what they will do though. I measured 41cm today
She also gave me a 'mini' internal examination  which I was not prepared for at all! Was my fault for opening my big mouth about the leakage ive been having. She wanted to check it wasnt my waters. She thinks its runny discharge and small amounts of leaking urine  and not my waters.
I am going to have to toughen up about the whole internal exam. thing, am so soft, really hate it but will have to get used to it over the next week/ 2 weeks or so arent I ?!
Mr Sai- thanks for letting us know about Sai. Send her my best wishes
Keira and mrs s- Did you really think we had all abandoned you already?
Em- aaww sweetie, sounds like you were in a bad way last night. Hopefully things will really kick off soon
Andie- It is your turn next anyway isnt it? Im sure no one will be rude and push in
Shamu- hope your pains turn into something really soon too!
BTW, described to MW exactly what happened last minday night ie the diahorrea and pains every 6/7 minutes. Told her what pains were like and she said that it sounded like I was in labour but it stopped  Apparently it happens sometimes.
Speak in a bit girls

Hello, I'm still here!
Fell asleep at about 11.30am and kept waking up with little bits of acid in my mouth - Yuck!:yuck: managed to sleep till about 3pm so got up and had some lunch and hung the washing out that I had put in earlier, I think that's all I'm going to manage today. Going to cook toad in the hole for dinner, OH wants it early as he's going out, his best mate has just split from his wife and he's helping him get his house sorted for selling, they were renting it out and the tennants left it in a right state so he paid someone to re decorate the whole house and the decorator made an even worse job so they have been putting everything right. I know his mate needs him and is having a hard time but I really need him at the moment and I'm feeling a bit teary about being on my own for the evening. At least he will only be down the road, Mrs s I don't know how you coped with your DH away all the time.
Thanks Mr Sai for keeping us updated, send Sai our love.
Brew hasn't been around today has she? and we haven't heard from pooch for a bit but I know she has other things going on at the moment.
AHA! Brew our posts crossed! There you are!

Im still here sweetie :wave2:
Em- Shame about DH going out tonight. If its only down the road, could you not go for a bit and 'supervise' Other than that, give him a time limit on coming back. He probably feels a bit torn but im sure he wouldnt stay late if he thought it upset you.
BTW, toad in the hole sounds good. You sound like a fab cook too!
Just seen on the net that Gerri Halliwell had a baby girl yesterday too so Nat has a claim to fame!
Brew - I'm sure OH won't be late, they just have to finish the cleaning, I might ask if I can go too - good idea, I could always polish some brass or something! How annoying that the mw thought you were in labour and then it stopped! I wish these babies would hurry up! I bet your internal was a bit of a shock but at least it put your mind at rest that it wasn't your waters!
Have just had a text from Laurena, she said she would pop in for a chat when she gets a moment!
aha - I sneak off for a snooze (naughty as I bet I don't sleep tonight now - grrr) and you all come out to play!!
Shamu - bummer about the shoe situation - god its not flip flop weather here, is hideous. I walked down the road (well waddled - is def waddling now!) and back and got soaked. I can't wait to be in all my nice shoes again, have really missed my collection of heels!
Brew, glad MW appt went well - least she gave you some answers/reassurance after rubbish GP appt last week.
Can't stop eating today, think am a bit bored!!
Em - poor thing about being on your own tonight. I know how you feel lady! I can't seem to relax when I am on my own for some reason. I would just get some nice choccie handy, put all the rubbish soaps on TV and before you know it he will be home.... I know I am going to be the same if mr S does end up going to this wedding as will be on own from weds lunchtime till friday night - can feel the tears welling up already....
Glad you haven't all abandoned us just yet though...but I reckon I am going to be lonely if I go overdue and into June!!

Mrs s- I could well end up giving birth in June too if they let me go the full 12 days over. Hope that doesnt happen though
It isnt flip flop/ mules kind of weather this side of pennines either  but I have nothing else i can get my feet into. Im glad my dad managed to rescue my shoes earlier
Redlou hasnt been around today either has she? Who is her buddy? Its not me because mine is pooch.

Hey  I'm still here to.
Mr Sai, thanks for the update and hope Sai is ok,
Everybody else :wave2: with you all on wanting to get things going now, know I still have a week or so to go (at least) to due date but feel soo ready! I am having cramps nearly all the time now and feel very hormonal
Havn't managed to do to much today, just pottered around the house and watched crap tv. off to Tesco's soon for weekly shop (maybe the last time the two of us go together just us! )
speak soon xx
There you all are! I'm sooo glad that there are some of us left!!
Brew - what a bummer that the MW said you had started labour then stopped. :sigh: I expect Master Brew had a change of heart and decided he was too comfy!!
I'm another one wearing flip flops. I honestly can't fit my giant elephant feet into anything else :-( Good job I'm not at this stage in the middle of the winter! Am really suffering with swelling - my Mum said she had the same problem. I'm really looking forward to being able to fit on some nice summer sandals again almost as much as meeting my baby!!
With regards to who's next - I think Ellie is a week overdue now and then it's Shamu tomorrow, followed by me, Andie & BJMac all on Wednesday. I wish someone would tell these babies that though!!
Brew - Love your new signature by the way! 8)
Hello everyone,
I am still here! In fact hoping mini pooch doesn't make an appearance until after the funeral.
Things are starting to return back to normal although slowly. It will take time. Mr pooch went back to work today after having a few days off and he is feeling better. I suppose because they knew she was so ill for months, they saw it coming, it wasn't a huge shock. By the end she was suffering quite a bit so I think her sons are glad she is not suffering anymore. They still haven't decided on a date for the funeral but Mr pooch is hoping it will be sometime at the end of this week. He is worried I might go into labour before then though.
Do not fancy my waters breaking in the middle of the service:shock:
It has been a very sad time but hopefully he can concentrate on the baby from now onwards...
Ok, first of all, massive congratulations to Nat!:woohoo: Can't wait to hear from her and see how she is getting on!
Tripod, lovely to hear from you too. Sorry to hear the bf is quite painful and difficult. They did warn us about it at our NCT class so hopefully I will be prepared for it not working out straight away.
Mrs s, by the look of things I will be here with you until June so we can at least keep each other company:chat: Mini pooch shows no signs of wanting to come out.
I have had no braxton pickles, extra discharge, pains, cramps etc. He is just there happily kicking away every so often.
Mr Sai, thanks for the update and hope Sai is allowed home soon....... Send her our love and that we are thinking of her:flowers:
Wel, hope to be back into the swing of things now. Have missed you guys:hugs:

pooch - really sad to hear about your MIL. I hope Mr Pooch is ok - I can totally understand about the fact that her boys take a little hope in her not being in pain any more.
I am Red's buddy - not heard anything though. will let you know if I do.
Hi Pooch. Thanks for update - glad you are holding up at this difficult time (and that mini Pooch is behaving!) Am with you on the waters breaking mid service though
I'm sending DH up to the storage unit tonight to ferret around for some flip flops  He htinks I'm :loco: but I really can't wear anything else   Don't know what to do tomorrow when I have to go to the opticians....
Anyway, busy night - Ocado delivery on its way, sorting out items to put in storage and packing my hospital bag! Will catch up tomorrow girls
Shamu
Well OH has gone out so I am on my own..........:-( I can't beleive I'm being so pathetic! Toad in the hole was yummy and also had apple pie and ice cream for afters, Geordie is fighting for space in my tummy now!
Mrs s I could well be with you into June I still have a week and 3 days to go but I can't get my head round being late! By my LMP dates I was origionally given 2nd June(33 day cycle) but my scan said 25th May. The branstons have started for the evening but they're not too bad at the moment.
Glad to see you pooch:wave2: I'd be worried about going into labour at the funeral too, hope you get it all sorted out.
Kiera - I can't wait to get back into my normal clothes and shoes, I was looking at them all the other day as they are all in a case under the spare bed, I'm really getting sick of my maternity wardrobe! I've been lucky with not too much swelling, my socks leave a bit of a mark and I had to take my rings off on sunday as I realised they were getting a bit tight, I feel naked without them!!

Pooch- good to see you  Must be a very difficult time for you but remember we are all here to chat when you want
Im not too sure how 'accurate' my due date is TBH as my cycles were so irregular after coming off the pill. If i average out my cycle, it would prob give me a due date of around the 28th but the scan at 12 weeks said the 17th! So MW said we would go witha regular cycle seeing as they were so far apart! I guess he will come when he is ready!
Anyone else had/ having stinging pains just under/ on the pubic bone just inside? Its just started tonight. They arent agony but definately sharp and stingy.
Glad you like the new sig. Keira!
Going to bed soon, feel very  Hope to do lots of  tonight!
Catch up tomorrow girls.

Yes brew - had those stingy pains for a bit, does it feel like when you have a smear, it could be your cervix changing, I think it was funky that asked the midwife and she said it was probably the cervix changing! :cheer2:

Hello girls:wave:
Found my way over here at last! Had a shock when I logged on to the other place on Friday and May Mummies was on page 3!!
Haven't caught up yet, but gather from other place Nat has popped - anyone else I should be aware of?
Sai, thanks so much for keeping everyone updated - it was really lush to read all your posts afterwards.
Well, all is fine here, day 6 today and feel like we are settling into some kinda routine. I'm perservering with bf and feel like I'm getting there. Overdid it with visitors initially but had a lush day just the 3 of us yesterday which was so cool.
DH has been absolutely amazing - all of a sudden he just "knows" what to do with her. He's never been around babies at all so I'm well impressed! He goes back to work on tomorrow though whch I'm a bit nervous about but will just miss having hom here, it's been so nice being the 3 of us together.
Aware that I'm prob rambling so will sign off, but wanted to just pop in and wish the rest of you happy labour vibes. Can't wait to hear all the news from the rest of you.
Well, I'm back off to bed - my little angel has been a star and let me post this and have a nice cuppa without a murmur - she's actually really good and only cries if there's a reason for it (so far anyway!)
Anyway girls, being a mummy is just amazing and although overwhelming to start, you learn so quickly. I'm sure we'll all be pros in no time!
Will pop back in when I can - doubt I'll bother with pink place if we're all here - I think one site will be enough to keep up with atm!
Take care all,
Hel (& Meg)
xx

Just checking if my new ticker is working
Great to see you Hels, you sound so happy and loved up with your little one, and so nice to hear your DH is a natural! You really made me excited about everything I have to come!
Well, I got quite a good night's sleep, my back and branstons weren't too bad and OH was back by 9pm. I had been on the phone to my dad so the time had flown by.
I have a friend coming over for coffee in a bit and then I think the rest of the day will be spent relaxing as usual!

morning all!
Well done Helski!!!
Red Lou is a mummy - posted a new thread!! Hopefully she'll be out soon!
Brew - well done for coping with the internal! Worst bit for me, but by the end of things you don't care who sees what!! I was standing there being sponged down naked, after puking over myself. Also didn't care there were 6 people in the room whilst my legs were in the stirrups for the world to see!
Never thought I'd say that!
Tripod cat puked up this morning, fab.
Hels, great to see you and hear that you are doing so well. Your dh sounds brill too:thumb:
Tripod, its so odd to see your new ticker now! Glad you have time to come over and chat though. Hearing how all the may mummies are doing with their little ones really makes it real to me and so makes me very excited about meeting mine:babygrin:
Well, I am off to visit a friend and her kids to get some last minute tips about looking after babies so won't be around for much of the day.
Hope everyone has a nice day!

Morning girls!
Hels- fab to hear from you! You sound really well and happy. I cant wait to be a mummy now!
Your new ticker looks ace!
Megan does sound like a real star
Think we are all sticking with this new place, its great.
Tripod- Your ticker is so cute aswell!
Thanks for waht you said about the internals etc. It is encouraging as I know you were scared too but TBH even at this late stage, the thought of people 'messing' with my bits scares me so much more than the pain of the labour itself. Im just hoping that once things do kick of, im so preoccupied with the baby coming out that i dont bother about it. May have to have another one of Thur anyway so i need to toughen up!
Em- Glad last night was not too bad. I slept better too. Just woke once witha bit of cramp.
Pooch - on finding that cool baby smiley, thats so funny!
Have altered my sig. due to our most recent arrival!
Catch up in a bit.

morning all
Yay Red Lou - congrats!! (Will post on other thread too!)
feel officially rubbish today. Had really bad night - getting very sore pubic bone/pelvis -feels like bubs is headbutting me all the time, ouch. Can't walk properly either now which is no fun, every step is agony. Did nothing yesterday, felt quite restless and Mr S made me stay on sofa last night and not do anything - but all that meant I had pants sleep as I couldn't settle. Been awake since 4am again and consequently feel rotten now. Feel sick for some reason too....moaning minnie today sorry!
Looks like Mr S is going to this wedding tomorrow (unless something happens between now & then). He leaves 3pm tomorrow and will be back teatime friday  . He has worked out that he can get a train direct to York which takes 4 hours if anything happpened which isn't so bad and has even costed out a taxi from exeter to harrogate  if needs be. Also promised me not to drink too much so he can actually react to a phone call...hmmm He wants his mum to come and spend tomorrow & thurs evening with me - have told him I don't want her to (even added "if he was that worried he shouldn't be going" ouch....), but frankly I would rather be on my own than have MIL here, much as I love her - I don't want to have to chat to anyone, would rather just watch TV. So Mr S is cooking lots of food tonight enough for me not to have to cook weds/thurs pm - just heat it up. Think will be a bit teary tomorrow though ladies, be warned!!
Em glad you survived your night last night!
Hels, so good to see you and sounds like you are well & truly loved up with Megan. Sounds like you and Tripod are old pros already...makes me sooo looking forward to meeting mine! (but hope nothing does happen this week now!)
Pooch - poor thing, hope mr Pooch is bearing up, must be so hard. We are all here for you though honey.
Anyway will catch up on other posts, see you later - will try & cheer up

Mrs s- our posts crossed.
The painful pelvis etc will be the SP of SPD kicking in. It is meant to happen to everyone eventually. It s a nightmare but its weird, you do actualy get used to it.
Pants about mr s going to the wedding :flowers:
There is always someone to chat to on here. Mr brew saidthis am he is going to be working longer days from now til baby is born to make up more time to have off with us (he works flexi hours) which i can understand but is still a bit :-( Anyway, i will be around alot to chat because of this.

Morning all,
First of all huge congartulations to Red Lou :cheer2:
We really are popping at an alarming rate now aren't we?!!
Pooch- it is lovely to have you back. It must have been such a horrible time for you all recently but as you say at least she is not in any pain any more. :higgies: Will PM you on the other side ....
Tripod & Hels - so glad you're still able to keep in touch! Your LOs sound gorgeous, I really can't wait to have mine now but it doesn't feel like he's EVER going to arrive. :sigh:
Brew - am also having stingy pains around the cervix area, hopefully it's softening ready for the birth..
My cycle was always very very regular and never was even a day out. Added to that it was quite short, 26 days, so I was hoping I wouldn't go overdue but it looks inevitable now seeing as I'm due tomorrow!
It's funny, you spend so many months focussing on a date only for it to come and go. One consolation is that I'll be able to watch the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday if I'm still pregnant - how sad am I?!!

Morning ladies
Congrats Red Lou :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Well I woke up this morning after realising that another night with nothing happening, and it dawned on me that this time next week I'd probably have bubs.
I'm seeing the mw again tomorrow and we'll talk about induction for early next week - yikes!!! I'm going to decline her offer of a sweep tomorrow. I just don't like the idea, and I'm a wimp!
Chronic backache again last night, seems to be a nightly occurance now. Still no BHs though.
Mrs S, I'm with you on rather being alone than having company whilst Mr S is away. At least you can watch what you want on TV and not have to make polite chit chat.
Tripod, my cat also puked, last night, twice. Cat called Ellie, that's where my id comes from 'Ellies Ma'
40+6
Ahh Mrs s, don't be sad sweetie! Although I quite understand why, I would hate it if OH went away now, you make sure mr s leaves you plenty of chocolate! And you know we are all here if you need a good moan. I have been feeling a bit sick on and off as well, I guess it's just our stomachs all squished up!
Pooch - hope you enjoy your day out.
Kiera - I am looking forward to Eurovision as well, it's Terry Wogan's commentary that makes me laugh!!
Brew - pants that mr brew has to work longer hours but it won't be long till he will be off for a bit. My OH is getting really excited as he only has 3 days left to work, not sure if it's because of the baby or because he has 4 weeks holiday!!
Tripod - lovely to see you and I hope cleaning up tripod cats sick wasn't too bad, can't beleive I used to do that for a living!!
Right I have to hang out some washing and then I can get back to relaxing!8)
thanks ladies - exactly my thinking elliesma, can't be bothered with enforced chit chat!!
em think you right about squished stomach - yucky though
Mrs S - I totally agree. I've got used to my own company now since finishing work and sometimes just can't be bothered entertaining and chatting
I've got a friend coming round tonight for dinner which I am ashamed to say I've been putting off for ages. It makes it worse that she is ALWAYS at least an hour late and I just feel like curling up on the sofa infront of the telly!
Glad I'm not the only saddo looking forward to the Eurovision!!
Hi everyone, I'm back!
No baby yet either! Seems like my pre-eclampsia is getting worse, surprise surprise, but they've increased my medication etc and is under control-ish. I'm so fed up with it though, but keep thinking once the baby and placenta are delivered that will be it for all the trouble!
Was going to be induced this week but when I was examined on Sunday my cervix was a bit long (although very soft) so I have decided against it as it can take days and days for labour to start and I really don't fancy having to have a c-section at all. I think it's the sensible thing to do. I had a sweep today though (it was so painful!) and the obs said my cervix is now very short and she was very hopefuly so fingers crossed things will start happenning soon... if not I'll be induced next week so no long now.
Great news about Red Lou :cheer2:
Hels you managed to find us! Sorry I hadn't post your last text message but have been in hospital for a few days and just returned home...
Got loads of posts to catch up on so will talk later girls. Hope you're all doing well.
x
Ahh, but nothing beats Making your mind up, I am ashamed to say I used to love Bucks Fizz when I was younger and loved the bit when the blokes pulled off the girl's skirts...........
I was only about 7 so I think I can get away with it!
Just had massive lunch and now I can't move, want to have a nap but I'd better stay upright for a bit or will have nasty heartburn!
I also am allergic to company at the moment, I just want it to be me and OH enjoying the rest of our time with just the two of us.

Hi again girls,
Im the same regarding company at the moment- just dont seem to have the energy for it. My infamous friend is calling round at 4 but she cant stay long as she has to be some where else at 530 and TBH im glad as having to make conversation tires me out! Coming on here is different somehow, you can stop and start, disappear, come back and obviusly noone gets offended!
Em- I have got 'makin your mind up' stuck in my head now
Sai- good to see you. At least you have been told you will be induced next week so you know what you are doing.
Elliesma- Im with you on being a wimp re sweeps etc. MW said she will give me one next Tues if I like. (thats if the hos. dont do anything thurs) Erm, no thanks!
Re squished stomachs- MW said mine is squashed into a really tiny area on my left just under my ribs which is why ivehad alot of indigestion- nice eh!
My nice dad took me to the supermarket before so im going to go and have one of the lovely scones i bought
speak in a bit
x
What an annoying morning :hissyfit: Went to the opticians for a sight check (having told them that I was heavily pregnant) and was told that they wouldn't do the test as it could be inaccurate at this late stage of pregnancy :sigh: Why didn't they say that when I booked the appointment? Would have saved me traipsing down Oxford Street.....
Grrr
But I've phoned my lovely contact lens suppliers and they're happy to reissue me more lenses
Was also mightily annoyed when I was walking through a narrow shop aisle and the woman behind me said to her mat "God, could she take up any more room" I couldn't believe it  so I retorted "Well, seeing as I'm heavily pregnant I very much doubt I could take up any more room if I tried" :teehee:  Another woman in the shop patted me on the back and said people should think before they open their mouths
Popped into Boots on the way back - they have a massive sale on Osh Kosh stuff because apparently they won't be stocking it any more (company has gone bust). Worth a look if you can manage! Everything was half price... The stuff wears really well and you can sell it on Ebay for nearly the same as you pay full price iyswim.....
Unlike the rest of you, I'm really upset that I am not allowed a sweep - apparently because my placenta is slightly low lying (well, it's not but that's the excuse my consultant is using  ) it's too risky. I had one last time and it did start off a nice run of contractions but they didn't actually come to anything. It wasn't unpleasant tbh - no worse than a rather zealous smear.... Don't dismiss the option as it's better than having to be induced I can promise you!!!!!
 Sai - glad you are home now.... Hope things start to happen for you v soon. Good to hear your cervix is "ripening". Apparently Evening Primrose Oil is meant to help ripen the cervix - you have to pop a capsule up your err girly bits (having pierced the outside so the oil can get out more easily....) You can do this twice a day as long as your waters haven't gone.
Can't believe it's my due date already!!! Have an accupuncture session tonight and then consultant appointment tomorrow - I think he's going to insist on inducing me though  - will keep my :fingerscrossed: that the accupuncture works!
Shamu
hiya
have been in bed since 12.30  slept for hour or so, so bet I can't berluddy sleep tonight. ho hum. Feel a bit better now though
Brew - I have had a love of scones recently (none better than at Betty's on sunday!) but am just forcing half a sarnie down as haven't eaten anything today really.
Sai, good to see you back - glad you ok,not long now.
Shamu - :hissyfit: on your behalf for trekking down Ox st and them not doing test, why are people so stupid??! And  at that woman making that comment - how flaming rude. I think I would have hit her...cheeky cow.
Thanks for the tips about sweeps shamu too - to be honest I have so much "work" done on my cervix (colposcopy/cauterisation of scar tissue etc etc etc) I don't think I would be bothered by it too much (famous last words i bet!)
right sup of tea time me thinks

Shamu- some people are downright rude arent they? Good for you for answering back though  You go girl :thumb:
Im getting really fed up of people staring at me like im something from outer space!
Re- sweeps- I am a real softie but im also eager to have master brew here as i feel so heavy all the time so i may have to grin and bare it. Really hoping he decides he wants come on his own though
Mrs s- re colposcopy etc  Im presuming you had all this done pre pregnancy??
Scones- just really fancied them when i saw them earlier in somerfields. Just had one with strawberry jam  Yummy
yes brew all pre pg.......colp was years ago, had to have the scar cauterised about year and half ago. not pleasant, but ok. think burning smell was worst bit of colp   oh and the difference between how they treatede me in large london hosp compared to nice small harrogate was a real eye opener!!
Gosh I thought I'd lost you all when i saw all those new boards!! There's millions of them!
Mrs s - mmmm colposcopy, not nice, I had one done before I got pg, luckily for me they didn't need to do any work because the area of change was so small. Maybe that's why we both had cervical erosions - strange! although I haven't had any brown stuff since I gave up work. My friend had the full on cone biopsy, she said it was ok if she booked the first appointment of the day then she knew the doctor wouldn't goo home with her fanny being the last thing he saw!!!!!
Sai - glad you're home, not long for you now!
shamu - good on you for standing up to that woman, I think I would have hit her too! When I was out on Sunday people kept looking at me like I shouldn't be there!!

Shamu, thats an awfull thing that that woman said:shock: so rude. and what a pain to have gone up oxford street for no reason
Brew and Mrs S, I am with you on the scones. Tesco's finest are the best!! :lurve: In fact that has got me going and may have to go for short drive now!!
Sai, glad your home and things are beginnning to happen for you, lets hope it won't be to long now.
I'm also with all of you who can't be bothered with chit chat now, like Keria said I have got used ot own company and also very happy to just be at home with oh and potter around whilst we can!!
hope you all having good evenings and sleep well later xxx
Hello Girls.. Im going to have to type super fast as not much time to play with.
Tallulah as you know arrived Sunday morning. Have had a very bad time, which I wont go into in detail as its all too much to cope with and plus dont want to scare those still waiting to pop. Both Lulah and I are/were traumatised from it, and she is a very fractious little one, understandably, but we have been allowed home today. And so Im hoping things will take an upward turn.
Sorry I didnt text any updates to anyone, it just wasnt possible. I hope all of you are well, and once I am back on my feet a bit I will prob get more time to come and chat xxxxx
Sorry, I cant for the life of me figure out how to post a picture... :puzzled: so cant post one.. but will maybe figure it out when less tired :loco:
 Hello Nat Sorry to hear you had a hard time - if it's any consolation you WILL get over it (my induction last time was horrendous and I've never really written about it).
If you want to PM me to chat about your experience feel free - I have an excellent website that I can direct you to to help you deal with your feelings (won't post the link here as I don't want to frighten the girls still to pop  )
Glad to hear you are home - believe me it WILL get easier and you will BOTH recover. If Lulah is really fractious, consider finding a cranial osteopath (who can also help you) - it was a life saver for James and they say the earlier they see the babies the more they can do to help
:hugs:
Shamu
Actually Nat I'm going to PM you in case you don't get a chance to read the thread through (you know how the May mummies like to chat!)

Hi Nat! So sorry that you had such a bad time, Glad you're home now and I'm sure shamu can give you some good advice to help.
Thinking of you hun xx

Right, off to bed now, speak tomorrow girls
x
Ughr. I feel like sh*t. Hardly got any sleep and my back and pelvis were agony. Nothing I could call contractions but I have a feeling something may be happening. Was a bit worried earlier because there were hard lumps either side of my tummy making me think maybe Geordie has decided to slip into a transverse position. If that's the case I'll cry. Lots.
For god sake someone tell this baby it's time to come out. I've had ENOUGH!!!
Anyway hope you all had better sleeps than me, sending labour vibes to everyone, I'm off back to bed for a bit, spk later x

Hiya girls, just a quick hiya from us. What an emotional rollercoaster mummy hood is! Had a really bad day yesterday with bit of a breakdown over feeding (hurts me like hell and she wasn't getting any milk) - poor DH had a crying Meg in one arm and me under the other!
Seemed to have turned a corner overnight, (and managed 3 hours sleep) although we'll see what the 11am feed brings! Can't believe she's a week old already!
Congrats Nat Nat, I have also refrained from doing a birth story - no point till all of is have popped I don't think, if at all. Take care of yourself hun.
Tripod - with you on the sore nips - have you tried nipple shields? I tried yesterday - didn't work for me but worth a go just for the comedy value! Also amazed by boobage growth - am now an H cup!!
Hope the rest of you pop soon, sounds like you're all getting really fed up now.
Oh and regarding inducing labour, RLT seemed to work for me, oh and watching CSI followed by Lost last week, my waters went just afterwards!
Take care all,
Hel
xx
Hi Hels! Nice to hear how you're doing, sounds like DH is looking after you both, I'm sure mummyhood is full of ups and downs!
I've just had my RLT, anyone got CSI or Lost? Even considering getting OH home to get jiggy with it......if it can work for Daisy......
Is it just me today??? I know it's a few peoples due dates but you haven't all gone and left me????

Hi, I'm still reading, if not posting much just now. Can't wait to see who's next and to read birth stories. It's amazing how different it is for everyone.
Things are settling down here. Had a bad day Monday with massively sore nipples (can sympathise Helski!) but after one day using expressed milk and one carton of formula in bottles, I felt renewed and ready to try again. It's all in the latching on really, but you get lazy about doing it right - you pay for it though, so worth making the effort!
Hope everyone else is ok ... if not in labour yet, then hopefully very soon.
Oh, and make sure your hospital bags are packed now or you could end up like me with bugger all in it when you get there. Didn't really matter too much for us as we only live 5 mins from hospital.
Sending speedy labour vibes out to all still to pop!

Hey,
Em, I'm still here!!
Nat, sorry you've had a bad time, I've heard great things about cranial osetopathy for babies to ( I have it for my back and it is fab!)
other mummies, good to hear from you
Think we are all bit fed up now, know I am, really want this baby now!! skin is soo dry and itchy is driving me mad and stopping me from sleeping and getting lots of cramps and pains in my bump.
will all happen soon enough I guess.
had bit if stressfull evening with LO's mum ringing OH at the end of her tether, she is being really cheeky at the moment and has been lying about a few things. I think they are all normal things for an eight year old they really do seem to go through the pre teen at this age :sigh: but not at a good time for anybody!! Her mum seems to have gone from allowing her to do and say anything she wants to expecting a perfect child  (we have been trying to support her to 'grow up' for the last year or so, taking more responsibility etc)
Bad timing, as we are worried about how LO is actually going to feel when baby is here, know she will love him but know to that I won't be able to give her the one to one attention she wants. So although I am pleased that mum is givng her firmer boundries and expecting her to act her age, it's not the best ime for me to have to deal with the fall out!!:sigh:
so many people told me how hard it would be to take opn another persons child, they were right, it's not the fact that she's not my child but that OH and I can't parent the way we want to, we are really lucky and talk about how we are going to handle things all the time and can say if we're not happy with the way the other is doing something:nod: (I think this is the key to good parenting) butwe just don't have that with his ex and never will, so she does things her way and we do things our way- result a confused child:ohno: very frustrating cause we can't change it however much we want to!:hissyfit:
oh well bubs will be easier, we can do it the way we want to......
sorry for the rant (again!!) I am off for lunch now to meet with my NCT class so that should be nice and then LO here this evening, have inflated the birthing pool so gonna have a play with that with her and OH gonna spend some time with her tidying her room (which she loves if somebody does it with her:thumb: ) so hopefully we will have a good evening.
catch up later and thanks for listening!! xx
Funky! Glad you're still here! It must be really hard to take on someone elses child, I take my hat off to you, sounds like you have a good relationship with her though.
Have fun with the birthing pool!

Right, im back. My fab Mum has helped me blitz the house, prob last chance I will get for a while
Hels- great to here from you. Hope the improved BF continues! I am at this moment drinking RLT after you said you think it helped you. Have never watched CSI or Lost but maybe now is the time to start!
Think the RLT made me ill last week but will try one more cup and ifit does, ill ditch it. Will try anything now!
Funky- Your attitude to LO is fantastic IMO. I see this kind of thing quite a bit in my job (primary school teacher) and its suprising how some people are so unwilling to compromise etc over their partner's children but you treat her like your own but respect LO's mum. You really cant do anymore
Em- Im having hard lump type feelings ineither side. Master brew seems to be bashing my hips every night from the sides now. I wondered if he had turned the other day but he was still head down on monday. It could be arms/ elbows I guess
Well, today is the date the hospital gave me according to the 12 week scan but im not holding my breath!
Hiya Daisy- sorry to hear about the soreness. Hope that gets better really soon.
So where's everyone else today? Mrs s?, keira?(its her due date!) Shamu? (maybe the acupuncture worked!)

found you now..
Oh Ems hope you are ok x
Hi Mini! I'm fine, just a bit fed up like the rest of us. Hope you and the gorgeous Isabelle are doing well.
Brew well done you for getting the house cleaned, I really need to do that but just don't have the energy, OH is very good at cleaning so I'm hoping when he's off next week we can have a bit of a blitz.
Just had loads for lunch, I was feeling sick earlier but managed to pack away a big bowl of leftover spag bol. It's really miserable weather here, Sticky cat keeps going out and sitting in the middle of the lawn, she was soaking when she came in, strange cat!

WHERE is everyone else?
Right, you have reminded me that I need to eat Em! Catch up in a bit.

I'm still here
Had a great appointment - Mr Consultant has completely changed his tune and says that as my blood pressure is behaving and beanette is head down (and has been for well over a week now) I can just enjoy being pregnant for another week!!! Funny how I actually LOVE the feeling and don't actually mind being overdue
I went to Ikea afterwards and sat in the revamped cafe enjoying a muffin and latte reading the paper - doubt I'll get that sort of luxury again for some time!
Shame that the accupuncture didn't work though I am having some very strong Branston Pickles today! May chase up the reflexologist... My mum is coming tomorrow for a few days (I begged her as I thought I'd still be in hospital  ) but at least that means I can relax a bit  . Maybe having her around will scare me into labour :elllie:
I'm going to spend the afternoon catching up with some of the telly I missed whilst in hospital then cook a chilli (James doesn't really like spicy curry but he's fine with spicy chilli so I'm hoping it'll help me on my way  ) Am going to try (again  ) to persuade DH to get jiggy tonight but not holding out much hope tbh - I hope he remembers how long the drought lasted after the birth last time

Like your poll BTW, will vote on that in a minute.
My DH is a bit reluctant on the :lovin: front too at the mo. He still thinks the baby will be squashed! I have told him he should be making the most of it now as I might not feel like it for years after the birth

Hi everyone,
I am still here too, and likely to be for the next few weeks as mini pooch shows no signs of anything. I think he enjoys being in my tummy too much... I am not complaining though as I don't want him to come before mr Pooch's mum funeral.
Just got back from a lovely lunch with the NCT girls. One of them had her baby last night. Everyone is popping away!!
I have a friend visiting later on today and some friends visiting tomorrow so I better do some tidying. I know what you girls mean about liking your own company at the moment though. Don't feel particularly sociable.
Nat, lovely to hear from you but sorry to hear things are tough. It will take a while but I am sure you will get there soon. Remember we are here for a chat whenever you need us.:higgies:
Funky, it sounds like you are doing a great job with your dh's LO. I really admire you for that as it can't be easy....
Shamu, great news about the beanette. Glad she is behaving well!
I don't know how you guys can have naughties. I am soooooo not interested. I know mr pooch would be up for it but then he is a horny devil:lust: I suppose I will try it if I go overdue but otherwise :happyno:
Em, is crap weather here too. Your cat is a bit :loco::tongue:
Where are Keira and Sai?
hiya all
I'm here too...haven't had a chance to log on today till now. Had nice lazy morning and we had a nice picnic lunch with all sorts of things from the local deli. Mr S just left for the airport and I have had a little cry  so thought would log on and chat to you guys to make me feel better. Have had so many offers of people wanting to come round, but I just want Mr S and no-one else will do. Anyway the sweetie made a nice Jamie Oliver beef casserole last night (as well as last night's tea) so I have food for tonight/tomorrow and I don't have to do anything but heat it up. He also had a stern word with junior to ensure s/he stays put while he is away!! Hope to god it does.
Nat - good to hear from you, hope you and Tallulah are feeling better soon. Sorry it was such an ordeal for you.
Hels - sounds like you are on a rollercoaster too...take it easy and dont be hard on yourself
Funky - birth pool sounds like fun tonight! And sounds like you do an amazing job with LO to me whenever you talk about her....
Hiya Mini - glad you found us!
Shamu, glad you had a good appt and can now enjoy some time out -as Brew says BOUND to come now!!
Oh, and was going to tell you about weird things happening re names....we have had 1 girl's and 1 boy's name for AGES now - the girls name is one we have liked for years. But then we started talking ourselves out of it/wondering if it was indeed perfect recently. But have read 2 books in the last 2 weeks and the girls name has cropped up as a character in both books and twice in mags I have been reading too as real life people. Then today the boy's name we have, also came up as a character in this book I am currently reading...now that must be a sign surely??!! :yeahright: Mr S thinks I am a bit mad, but think we have decided on those names now for sure....
right ladies, thank god you are all around while mr s is away
xx

See, if he came up with a decent "reason" then I'd be placated. All that happens is he falls asleep  :hissyfit: Oh and last night he asked me if I really thought it would help :bwahaha: Err, actually, you're my husband and I love you and I'd like to have sex with you. it probably won't help bubs on the way but it might be a nice thing to do anyway  the worst part is that EVERY night as we're getting ready for bed he tells me that I'm looking really yummy/sexy/pregnancy really suits me etc etc and I think :ellie: I've struck it lucky :sunglasses: . He then proceeds to turn his light off and roll over   :sigh:
Oops - have ranted a bit more than I needed to - obviously a bit of a sore point....
Better go and make supper now....

Mrs s- sorry youve been upset sweetie. What time is he back on Friday? That time will go by quite quick. At least you have lots of lovely things to eat  :thumb:
yeah get leaping Shamu!!
He is back on fri about 5pm so not late. Have a few nice things planned - hair cut on fri, am at MW tomorrow. Going to buy a few nice treats for me on friday whenI am in town and also meeting up with a friend for coffee....so I know it'll go quick.
Have already had my parents on the phone and he had only been gone 2 hours!! Can see me takign the phone off the hook to get some peace!!
have some scones in the cupboard too
Mrs s, you'll see how time will fly by, particularly if you have a few treats organised. I really feel for you though as I hate being apart from Mr pooch at the best of times, let alone so near the due date.
He was planning to go out with a few of his friends today for a curry but in the end decided he wasn't up to it. I didn't say anything as he has had such a hard time recently that I didn't want him to miss out but must say I was quite glad when he decided not to go. I spend the whole day alone without him so spending evenings apart seems harder than before somehow....
All this talk about scones is making me really want some. I must buy some tomorrow......

hiya pooch
yes think that is it really - I don't mind being on my own, but when it's all day and then the night too it can get a bit much...find myself talking to myself all the time :loco: !! Sure it will go quick though...and having the bed to myself may help me sleep better...
Brew, yes am her buddy. Haven't heard anything...don't want to pester her though, but if we haven't heard from her tomorrow maybe will send her a txt?? How exciting though!

Evening everyone
Finally made it home yesterday and thought I'd try and catch up with the May news - cant believe how many babies have arrived already.
Daniel is playing on the x-box with daddy so thought I'd try and post a picture of my gorgeous baboon but I dont seem to have an option to do that on here. Anyone know how to do it?
Didnt quite have the birth I had planned, I started with contractions about 12.30 Thursday morning, got the midwife out at 8 and she said was only about 2cm and to stay at home. Had a bath and managed to last until 11.30 when I decided I needed something a little stronger than my tens machine.
Had gas an air at the hospital but was only 3cm so had to wait a couple of hours before I could go in the pool - fantastic experience! Then for the next 7 hours or so I just used the pool and the gas and air only to be told I was only 7 hours and hadnt changed in over three hours. Had an epidural at this point and some drugs to help me dilate some more but was still only 9.5 cms after 27 hours of contractions so the doctors was called in and she decided I needed a section. So much for all my natural birth plans :hissyfit:
Anyway, at 4.52 am on 12/05/06 Daniel Aaran Crew finally made it into the world and he was worth all the pain and frustration.
Congratualtions to all the may mummies who've popped so far, I will try and catch up over the next couple of days and look at all the photos.
hey TS - good to hear from you! Glad you are home now...sounds like it was verrry long but he made it in the end! Can't wait to see pics
x
Hi TS!!!!
Congratulations on the arrival of your gorgeous boy! Lovely names btw.... I think you have to host your piccies somewhere like photobucket but not sure....
Despite not having quite the birth you hoped for it does sound like you did really well.
Talk soon
Shamu
Hey TS! Glad you're home!:cheer2: Glad to hear daddy and Daniel are "bonding " over the x box!!
Shamu - can relate to your frustrations, have been feeling a bit horny the last few days but OH is too scared because we thought we'd squashed Geordie last time!! Makes you feel a bit unwanted and unatractive, at least your DH says you look nice!!
Glad everyone is still here though I have my suspicions about Kiera, wasn't she having pains and stuff the other day:yeahright: :puzzled:
No more signs of Geordie making an appearance any time soon, still having Branstons and got backache but they're not getting any worse:hissyfit: OH thinks it will be friday now:rolleyes:
Maybe I'll go and jump on him.....(not literally!)
Right I'm off for a shower and to read my book, nothing on TV tonight except footie.
Hi girls,
Sorry haven't logged in all day, been having loads of strong period pains and a show so who knows what's going on in there... at least I know the sweep did kick-start something, whether it'll end in labour or not soon who knows!
TS good to hear from you! Shame you didn't have the birth you wanted but pleased you're well and look forward to seeing a pic of the little one.
Hubby watching footie so gonna check on HB to see Nat's little one... catch up tomorrow girls.

Glad you are ok TS and congrats does sound as if it was hard going but worth it in the end!
Sai, sounds as if you are on the move :cheer2: hope it keeps going.
Had a lovely lunch with NCT girls and nice eve with LO and OH, I made a cottage pie yesterday for dinner tonight and it's all gone! lots of yum, yums from both of them and they both decided that me staying at home was a good thing (never used to have the energy to cook!)
Where is Keria? it is a long time for her not to have posted!................
I have been having pains on and off all day, just strong BH I think nothing more but they are def getting stronger, really want it all to start now!
hope all having nice evenings, Mrs S, hope you ok and enjoying some nice treats and your dinner from Mr S.

Sai - things sound very promisiing!!!!
TS - these things never go to plan! at least he is safely in the world!
Helski - with you on the sore nipples. tried the shields. Looked hillarious. didn't work - still agony.
I'm really sad it's still so painful - met up with NCT lot today - all seemingly bf without toe curling agony. I'm not sure I can keep it up. People say it takes a few weeks for the pain to go, but it is sooo very bad, I don't think I can do that long :(
Also still in pain from stitches. Been well over the 10 days they say, but it was all very fast and I know things didn't have time to stretch, so 2nd degree tear - maybe they take longer than the standard time. I'm sure the cathetar they put in damaged me at some point as can't sit forward without terrible pain. God I am a mess!!! But seeing the LO makes it worth it, just wish I could take something stronger than paracetamol.
Cabbage leaves on the boobs are ACE!!! very soothing. Maybe worth getting some in!
Hope we hear something good from Keira!!
Enjoy your evenings!

funky - I'm having the pains on and off too, just when I think something is happening, they go away again, really hope we don't have another week of this to go!
Mrs s hope night without hubby wasn't too bad.
Where IS Kiera???? :yeahright:
morning all
nice day here (at the moment!). Had ok evening - Mr S called twice, my parents were on phone and had millions of texts from people....! Good job I like football though, as NOTHING on TV so watched the footie all night. Had Ok sleep too (bonus about having bed to self!). Mr S called early again and am off to the MW soon...
Sai sounds like things are moving on for you :ellie: hope it continues.
Funky, sounds like you had a nice day yesterday.
Tripod, sorry the bf is still so painful for you, hope it gets better soon - will bear the cabbage leaves in mind and ensure Mr S has them on his list!!
Still no signo f Keira - hmmmm she is usually on here lots...maybe will hear news soon.
Right ladies gonna get some brekkie -though bubs feet are firmly stuck in ribs again (now a karate expert I think) so feel a bit sick, but still hungry - weird.
Catch up later after MW
