my l/o was born on christmas eve 2003 and we've always thought it was a bit rubbish having his birthday party then cos everyone's feeling christmassy so we thought this year we'd have a 2 1/2 year birthday instead and have a party and his friends round. my l/o has had a really bad start to the year (heart operations and things) so i'd really like to celebrate getting this far with him but now i'm a bit worried that it sounds a bit naff - any advice???
Sounds a great idea to me - my LO is a december baby. I would even call it his "official birthday party" - not naff at all - the Queen gets two birthdays doesn't she? Celebrating the year getting better for him sounds totally appropriate.
Have fun organising it - at that age he will love it!

I agree that it is most definately not naff. I think he will love it. It is a great idea.

We're doing the same in June for leah - her birthday is 23rd Dec! I say go with the Half-Party!

My LO was born in Feb so I am planning on having summer parties for her when she is older, as I was a winter baby and always wanted to have my summer party in the warmer months in the garden.
I think it is a fab idea!!
I think it's a great idea. As well, party-goers will be in more of a mood to celebrate a birthday than they would be late December.
