This is mine, I :lurve: it - when we went to look at rings it was the only one that fitted perfectly without need for adjustment, so it was obviously 'the one' my wedding ring was made for me to fit the ring so they 'click' into each other. I adore my rings and still 14 months after our wedding find myself gazing at them

Funnily enough, something like yours - big, simple, stunning and a big :wow: factor!
I really, really love it.
Where is it from do you mind me asking, if its online i might have a perusal at their other treasures
I'm not 100% on what i DEFINITELY want yet - i know i just gravitate more towards your type of ring. IATNLW ahem, of course
And, verrry pretty Sarah, i really want to totally love mine for years and years to come too

If your back is towards Holborn Circus/Sainsbury's HQ - start at the very top of Hatton Garden. Walk down and on the right hand side there is a large modern jewellers (name escapes me right now), with big glass windows and I think you have to step up a "marble" step from the pavement into the shop. Absolutely stunning stuff in there.
Here's mine:

PV there is a nice independent jewellers in Harrow called Simon Gorgin where my rings are from. You can commission them to make a ring if they don't have what you like.
You probably haven't looked at mine but I have a very simple solitaire in platinum with a very narrow diamond studded wedding band, also platinum. I :lurve: them.

OMG - why didn't I think to recommend Simon (guess I think noone would know the area). He is lovely and very willing to please. All my jewellery comes from there (in fact I think I may just transfer my salary to him).
I have the telephone number stored on my mobile  even though I have memorised the number

There are some beautiful rings on here girls!
PV - I have a art deco vintage ring - so stunningly simple but it has such a wow factor. Have you thought about looking at vintage rings?
As I am totally incapable of downloading and attaching photos   I am off to look to see if I can find a similar one just to give you an idea!!!

I went to Hatton Garden to look at rings and decided the place is really over-rated. My jeweller friend said the same thing when I told her I'd been there. There seemed to be a lot of over-priced stuff being sold by Essex wide-boys.
Loving all your rings though ladies! Saintsarah, I'm getting one made a bit like yours, but I'm having the diamond in the middle and two sapphires either side.

Similar to this

but the main centre diamond is encased in white gold too - no claws as here.

I got mine from Hatton Garden but not from a shop.
From here
http://www.thediamondshop.co.uk/index.asp
Totally bespoke service - they don't have a shop, just a workshop which used to be RIGHT up in the gods of a building!!
My engagement ring is a trilogy ring (I've tried everywhere to find a piccie of one similar but can't!)
3 princess cut diamonds - middle one 1 carat and the side two 0.5 carats each set in platinum. I utterly :lurve: it.
Although I do have a new ring (my Monty ring :teehee: actually it's my Hettiemonty ring really!) which is a 1.6 carat brilliant cut diamond (actually was my grandmother's from India years and years ago) set in a "rubbed over" platinum setting, on a thick yellow "double" band. I have to say it would actually make the most PERFECT engagement ring.
Good luck choosing!!
Of course you've then got to choose your wedding ring too

There are some really beautiful rings on this thread. Katkinn yours sound amazing, any chance of some pics? :prettyplease:
Just to buck the trend I don't have any diamonds in my e-ring.
I have three blue opals, an oval one in the middle set on it's side, then a round one either side of that, then a gold ball (for want of a better word) either side of the round opals.
A terrible description but I can't get onto my photobucket to get a photo.
I :lurve: it but don't wear it every day as I am scared of smashing the opals.

I cant take a good pic of mine but it's a cross between these two. More ornate like the 2nd one but with an emerald centre stone.
I absolutely LOVE it and it was from GemsTV!!

I went to Hatton Garden to look at rings and decided the place is really over-rated.I thought I was going to get my ring in HG, but ended up going to Simon Gorgin instead. I think HG is great for seeing a wide variety of styles in one area and allow you to try on loads of stuff. I think it is less intimidating than doing New Bond Street:shock:
PV - did you see anything you liked/manage to narrow down style options?

hey ss
mr pv wanted to come with me (bless him!) as he only works round the corner so we're going up there tomorrw.
do u know my mum absolutely RAVES about this jewellers in Harrow - has done for years. i wonder if he's the same guy? Chances are probably yes! Thanks for that, and yes, i totally know what you mean. i can envisage us getting lots of ideas when we're window shopping tmrw in HG - but whether or not we'll get it from there who knows? we do have 2 contacts there though - Mr PVs best friend's sister has a shop with her hubby there and - i met a school mum of my best friend yesterday and her brother has a shop in HG too :faint:
Its raining jewellers atm!!
Narcissa god that 1st ring is to die for :lurve: but....way over our budget actually...but i do quite like the idea of a vintage ring. have been told there is a shop in HG so will check it out if i see it tmrw.
Kat that Monty/Hetty ring sounds beautiful. Any chance of a pic?!
And the wedding bands aren't going to be hard - not for me. i just want a thick-ish very very plain wedding band, sort of curved edge, am sure there's a proper term for it, but not a cut off finish iyswim?? prob not making any sense here
This is mine, sorry its not a very good one

it looks like this
http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e151/Biba6972/ring.jpg
Narcissa that first ring is stunnning and if money were no object thats the sort of thing I would have liked. I wanted a vintage ring but was limited with our budget.
Edit to add this is a pic of the ring that i saw for sale when we were looking that i really wanted but it was outside the budget

I just love my vintage rings. :lurve: I know it sounds a bit :loco: but sometimes you get such a good feel with them iyswim? It is as though all the happiness they have witnessed is engraved in the very stone. :lurve: Some rings don't feel as "good" but the ones I have are all "happy rings"! :loco: :lurve:
Let me know how you get along in the vintage shop. :fingerscrossed:

Just looked quickly on google and Edwardian rings can be good value - check this one out out!

OMG - what bargains for art decos:
http://www.london-victorian-ring.com/engagement-rings-deco.htm
Some of those are stunning - and such good prices!:lurve:
Hmm - just thinking about it though - do you think they are just copies of the design rather than originals as they are very reasonably priced? Still it is good option.
I know it sounds a bit :loco: but sometimes you get such a good feel with them iyswim? It is as though all the happiness they have witnessed is engraved in the very stone.
Thats exactly how i feel about vintage rings and one of the reasons i wanted one, the thought that some man had bought it for his sweet heart before going off to war just made it feel so romantic.
There are some lovely rings (and other stuff!) on this website too www.faycullen.com

Hmm half of me is oh how lovely and romantic about buying a vintage ring - but there's something special about a ring being created, just for you
I think they are copies Narcissa - they say 'style of' iyswim?
This is mine, actually my second one but I don't like the first one so  You can't really see how blue it actually is, it's not dark at all :happyno:
