View Full Version : What is everyone's obsession with Kaede's socks?

or LACK of should I say..........:laff:

It's not like she never wears socks, but more often than not she pulls them off, well actually she pulls them off EACH and EVERY time :happyno: I am just so fed up most of the time with putting them on again and again that in the end I leave them off!!!

So now it seems I'm open to a constant barrage of questioning wherever I go  I stick her in the trolley at the supermarket, she invariably pulls off her socks and dumps them in somebody else's trolley as I go around :laff: :happyno:  and then I give up and stick them in my pocket and suddenly it's..

"ooh, where's your litte ones socks?" "that child has no socks on" "aren't her feet cold?" "my goodness, where's that child's socks!" :hissyfit: :hissyfit: and so on and you get the picture.

I'm sick of almost explaining myself to complete strangers. I'm fed up of saying "you keep them on her then" or "can you please hand them back to me in that case from your trolley" (which did happen once :laff: )............

why does everyone assume that I'm being deliberately awful to her :puzzled:

Hhmm, the stuff strangers will comment on!
Can't you get little booties that tie around the ankle?
We got some knitted ones and they stay on all day.

I get the same. DS will not wear any socks and he's often in the pram with bare feet. You get people asking all the time:rolleyes:

Isabels socks are always coming off, if she has shoes on top they normally come off too as she wriggles her feet so much!

I always used to put shoes on Lucy to stop her socks from falling off, and i had LOADS of comments on that, on HB and in RL, so you can't win really.

Oh god it's annoying isn't it!

And don't forget it's summer coming up soon so we'll all be enjoying the horrified looks and comments of 'that poor baby doesn't have a sunhat', after you've stuffed the damn hat in your bag because your child has pulled it off their head for the zillionth time

oh no.........i forgot about the sunhat issue coming up too   :laff:

She gets all types of shoe thingys off her feet too, and has been known to stretch her tights so long in at attempt to get them off that she looks like she has strange long super length legs :laff:

Now that she's walking, I am taking her along to Clarks for one of those 'first shoes' fittings - I assume I'm going to have hell with real shoes too????? :sigh:

will she ever accept stuff on her feet or have I got even more hell on the way

this is exactly the stage Laura is at. Just tell 'em you're a hippy and you don't believe in shoes or socks!!

You're not alone. Jess's socks are always off, or she'll go around with one on. At the weekend we were at the seaside. Other kids had coats, and footmuffs on the buggy. Jess has shorts, t shirt no socks and shoes and no footmuff! It wasn't cold at all!

Ooh, my favourite child 'look' is the one-socked look  Its so CUTE!

I know I'll get fed up constantly buying new socks, but its just so adorable for some reason.

So if you see someone grinning inanely at her feet, it could well be me! :loco:

Ryan kind of missed that phase but now pulls his socks off all the time - though mainly at home - and has inherited Daddy's disgusting habit of picking his feet  Well, Ryan separates his toes and goes in search of fluff even when there is none, even gets his foot right up to his face to get a better look - not quite as bad as DH yet!

If we're going to be at home all day I don't even bother putting socks on him as they won't stay there for long
