Laptop playing up

I decided to install various Windows updates yesterday including the new explorer (v7) and all seemed to be fine. However, I can't get my laptop to see any webpages. It shows that it is connected to my router but says it can't display the page.

I've tried umpteen different websites and the same thing happens each time. I've tried turning off the firewall in case there is a conflict and still the same.

Feeling very annoyed by it all and wished I'd stepped away from the updates.

Any advice on what to try would be appreciated.

Hmm, I've had this problem and DH says it's usually something to do with the DNS settings. Trouble is, he's at home and I'm in the office so I can't elaborate or remember what he does to sort it. It's damn annoying though.

Have you tried turning the router and pc off and clearing cookies too?

I seem to almost sorted. Can see the router when connected by a cable just need to sort out the wireless bit!!
