Where do you like to go out for the day in the UK?

A city, the coast, a theme park?

I'd love to go to the coast, if we were a bit nearer it. (We're in London)

The last day out we had was to a petting farm in Sussex, which was fantastic.

I also like going to National Trust properties - they always have nice grounds, too!

If anyone lives in the Midlands I'd recommend this place for families

Compared to theme parks, it's cheap, and the bet thing is, your kids are on the go all of the time, they are doing things rather than just sitting on rides. There is a HUGE playbarn with lots of slides and adults can go in with them. I think once kids are about 13 or so they might find it too tame but any younger than that they will love it. There's a petting zoo and a little roller coaster too. My kids were 10 and 3 when we went and they had a whale of a time. I think it's open all year but some of the activities won't be good in the colder weather!

That looks loads of fun Tracy. I live in Warwickshire, so not too far away from there, although I think my little girl is a bit young right now at 2 months old!! Will store that in the memory bank for later!

Yeah don't think she's apprciate it yet!!! If you live in Warwickshire you wil be familiar with Hatton Country world? Thats another place thats a good day out for little ones. We took my daughter there for her first 3 birthdays cos she loved it so much!! i used to work nearby and often used to wander round teh craft shops in my lunch break!

Yes! Its about 10 mins drive from my house (I actually live in Warwick..) we were there only the other day. I was thinking about getting an annual pass so we can go a lot more often.

I like the craft shops, however I like that old fashioned sweet shop even more :wik:

We had a small HB meet there in about October, I met August Girl there.

My kids like the sweet shop (I like the continental chocs section) , they also like the toy shop!! The farm shop is quite good too, got some nice foody type presents, and I'd recommend the butchers as welll!!

Haven't been for a while, had a day there with friends last summer which was nice. I live in Coventry, but on the rare day when I have to go into my office in Redditch I usually go via Hatton / Henley rather than the M40/M42 and it's a lovely drive....did it last week actually and was thinking I might try to take the kids there in the run up to Easter.

We go to aquariums, zoo parks, farm parks, country parks - well anywhere really!
Have you been to Twycross Zoo Joanna? Is that Warwickshire?

I live by the coast but love having a day there especially in the summer. We also have days out in the New Forest as it isn't far from us and there are some fab country pubs. We went to Beauliea last year which was good so we might go again.

I quite enjoy some of the National Trust properties although my H isn't quite so keen.

We don't tend to go to that many family type places as we don't have children. We have taken our nephews out a few times to places like Monkey World and Marwell zoo and have a great time but they are not really places we would go on our own.

That place does look good, will have to try multi map and see how long it takes from Wales.

I plan to take Ellis on quite a few day trips this summer. I definately want to get to West Midlands Safari Park.

I plan to take him to the seaside quite a bit, plus he likes the fairground which is good.

the last time we went to west midlands safari park was the day after my mums 65th birthday party  I had the WORST hangover and was throwing up in a carried bag as we were driving through the lion enclosure
Little Em was absolutely terrified when a deer thingy came up to her window, it was good - I think she'll enjoy it more this summer.
WHat about this place?
