Jack has been having his dummy less and less (and i would like to loose it completly) but still needs some kind of comfort every now and then and in the last few days has started grabbing at cloth things his muslin, his terry square his clothes and even my top and hugging it, I know I don't need a blanket designed to be a comfort blanket but it would be nice to have one that was just for that purpose does anyone have and reccomendations or know where I can get one?

I gave Isabel a 'blankie' from Mothercare, it matches her nursery in the Baby Jungle theme! It has a teething ring on one end which she likes to chew and a little soft toy on the other.

Like this one http://www.mothercare.com/invt/lx0612&bklist= but a different theme.

Noukies are nice too, they have them here http://www.totsplanet.co.uk/index/noukies

My LO has a 'blankie' but it says on the label do not wash, just wipe with a damp cloth and it is starting to smell a little.
What do you think would happen to it if i bunged it in the washing machine?.

My mum bought Eilis some lovely fleece blankets from Dunelm when she was new born. She gradually adopted these herself as comfort blankets - I guess because she was always wrapped in them. DH thinks that she likes the fleece as I have a fleece dressing gown and it reminds her subconsciously of being cuddled when she was tiny.

If you do have a comfort thing - be sure to have more than one. We have one in use and one in the wash most of the time!

Thanks for the links joanna we are going to Mothercare tomorrow so i will have a look there, cherrypie thats what i was thinking too that I would need more than one so one is on use while the other is washed.
Jules could you just handwash it? Might be safer than the machine
