Leila had her 6 wk check yday, and everything is a-ok...
she now weighs 12lbs exactly
how heavy is your LO now? Although L is a big bubba she's no way near as big as her sis was at this stage! (and if i have ONE more person stop me at the shops and say what a BIG baby i'll :hissyfit:  )
anyone know where sells 'longer' babygros at all? leila's feet are pushing the toes and the arms are nearly always 3/4 length
also had a talk about contraception with the doc and i'm more than likely going to get the mirena coil fitted...what about others, what are u thinking?

Any pics of Jessica? did you used to post on the bag?

Hi PV.
Although not officially a March Mum I was supposed to be. Jacob was 2 weeks early and 7lb4oz at birth. Got him weighed last week the day before he was 9 weeks and he was 10lb15oz. Seems to be following the 25th centile pretty much spot on. :ellie: :ellie:
I have gone onto the mini pill. I had to ask the doc for it, he didn't bring it up at all at the 6 week check. In fact he was pretty useless as far as I was concerned. Only interested in the baby. Unfortunately I have to go back this week as things aren't quite right with me and I'm not sure whether its normal or not   Don't want to go. Fed up of people looking at my bits:faint: :faint:

Hey PV
Thomas hasn't been weighed for a couple of weeks - was 11.3 at his 9 week weigh in!!
Got my AF yesterday which I am soooooooooo pleased about so am going to start thinking about what to go on to. I was on the combined pill before which worked fine for me but since joining the boards it does worry me how many people that have been on the pill for years think it may contribute to ttc so I'm not really sure what to do yet
Thought of the coild scares the hell out of, those things looks so evil - you can tell I didn't have to deal with a natural birth

Why, whats up Mrs B? no worries if you dont want to divulge, hope all ok
I hear you re. yr GP, mine gave the cursory 'and how are you' question without looking up from her notes  Why bother?
Ah Gem, thats great to hear Thomas is getting on so well. and hahahahaha :laff: about your fear of the coil :laff: I asked my doc if the fitting would hurt and then thought what am i on about, ive popped out two watermelons ffs - i can handle a coil fitting  heehee!
Leila's got such an awful cold. she's only taken 2oz since her last 2oz at 8am. poor little love's breathing is so stuffy her bottom lip is being drawn in and out furiously as she cant breathe through her nose atm :-( feel bad as there's nothing i can do to make her better :-(
PVx
eta gem can't contribute any views to mini pill honey as i'm totally :meh: about the pill. my doc wanted me to go on the pill until i have the coil fitted. i nearly ran out the door when she suggested it. i have an irrational fear of taking the pill, i dont know why!?

Hi all - Jessica was 10lb 1oz this time last week but I didn't weigh her at mums and babies this morning as I have my 6 week check up tomorrow so she will be done then hopefully! She was 8lb 1oz when she was born so is putting on weight nicely!

Awww poor chucken, have you tried the saline drops with her at all? We've bought one of those sucker things where you're supposed to be able to suck the boogers up - hmmmm nice! Doesn't seem to help though, the congestion seems further down than that!!
Must say PV - I do HATE the pill, but before Thomas I had really bad skin unless I was on it but then it KILLED my sex drive and made me put on weight - think I'd prefer to be randy & spotty from now on

no, haven't tried them i think they're pretty useless. well they were with ruby when we tried them with her. she is quite proficient at sneezing huge nostril/spherical shaped boogas out though waaaaaah  you should see the size of some of them!!! :faint: :laff:

 Hiyaaa
Theo born 20/3/06 was born 8lb9oz.
Weighed 11lb10oz one wek ago.
I haven't had him weighed this week as we were away on the clinic day.
I think that sounds quite a lot- is my baby a greedy guts or what:scratchchin:
He seems to be putting an ounce on a day, which would mean he is now over 12lb:shock:
We met up with a 9week old baby & mum today and the baby weighs less than Mr chubby-although they were the same weight at birth.
I guess I can't overfeed him but :teehee: :teehee: people think he is 10-12 weeks old sometimes and he is not even 7wks:no:
BTW not to scare anyone, but i got pregnant on the pill and so did the woman I met up with today:shock:
I'm defo having a coil fitted- painful or not.
My 6 week check is tomorrow and Theo's is on wednesday.

I know thats what scares me - not sure if I should have the coil if I haven't had a natural birth though ? Will have to ask doctors next time I'm there!!
Sorry for the tmi - but can't believe how heavy AF is, hope this isn't a sign of things to come!!

I'm not officially a March Mum but nearly so can I join in? There are so few Feb Mums we hardly ever post!
Anyway Amy was 7lb7oz when born and at 9 weeks was 12lb3oz. She is huge. And like you PV I am sick of people telling me how big she is...
As for contraception I too am going for the mirena coil. Had a smear and swabs taken last week to check there is no infection then when my next AF arrives I get it fitted (unfortunately came on yesterday so have to wait another month until that). I am not planning on anymore children so wanted something I could have done and forget about as I am so cr*p at remembering to take the pill.

of course you can pops, good to see u how is A's colic now? Any reprieve?
Its funny then that i'm not the only one getting the 'isn't she big' comments then. anyone having issues carrying their car seat. man ALIVE it is heavy. my right bicep's gonna be huge compared to my left at this rate. it is soo heavy. i've got a primo viaggo sp? so not sure if that is an especially heavy one?.
had the worst night's sleep. woke up twice crying my eyes out having had really scary dreams. always do when mr pv is away. i slept 11-2am when missy woke up for a feed, then - as she wouldn't go back to sleep til 4am  - from 4-530am. So, the grand total of 4.5 hours. jeez i am SHATTERED. i long for the days that i could go back to sleep like you 1st timers, i'm so jealous!! leila's upstairs asleep but ruby's running riot down here. enough to make me :loco:
my friend from sheffield is arriving this afternoon. cant tell you how excited i am    haven't seen her in 6 months :ellie: :cheer2: :ellie: and plenty of :chat: :champers: :drinkingbuddies: :sozzled: will be going on ;) !!
My GP was talking about the contraceptive injection which runs the risk of delaying your fertility when you come off of it. i dont think (99%) that i want any more bubbas but it seemed a bit final iyswim?
Gem poor you, AF for me after ruby was 10 times more painful and more heavy too so am preying like mad it doesnt follow the same pattern after no.2. Tis :hissyfit: as befre rubes i had 3 days of light bleeding and very light dicomfort :-(
sainsburys run and a walk round the park before lunch for us i think. god i could sleep for a week though
hope you all have good days. looks lovely out again. hope it lasts hey!
sorry for the waffle...you can tell i've not had much adult company this week :laff:

Got the same as you PV as you know, and I can't lift it very far, it's ridicolous!
I wonder if all carseats are heavy, or some makes are lighter.
Mind you, without baby in it's a reasonable weight.

What a gorgeous pic MissS!
PV - Amys colic is so much better. She still screams for an hour or so during the day for no known reason but she has started to go to sleep in the evening between 7 and 8 so I have my evenings back. She has goen until 3/4am for the last week now so I am starting to feel more human. She is also smiling and lauhging and making chatting noises too which makes it all seem easier somehow.
I don't carry Amy in the car seat at all. I just get her out and either put her in a sling or the pushchair. I stopped being able to carry the thing from around 4 weeks!

Hee hee, glad you had a good un hon ;)
I ned one of those desperately.:hissyfit:
He didn't fall alseep until midnight:zombie::rolleyes:
To be fair, it's not his fault- we all slept til 10am or so and then he slept in the pram from 2pm-5.30pm and I know if we get up that late, he'll sleep late.
Today we got up early, and he was sooo tired, kept yawning etc, until cruel mummy put him on his playmat to keep him up.
He napped from 9am-10.15am and has now napped from 11.45am (the world according to GF:tongue: ).
my GP reccomended GF- she has 3 kids and is such a sweet woman, and since she said it, I have thought I'll give it a proper go from tomorrow when O/h is back to work- as he gets up at 7am-which will make it easier to get up then.
These last 2-3 weeks we've been getting up past 10am everyday:shock:
Actually mr T woke after 45mins nap (12.30pm) and as GF says they might do, so I offered him half his 2.30pm feed, and left him in his cot and went out (he was awake) and since I haven't heard a peep. Either he's been awake for 45mins and been silent or he went back to sleep on his own..
I wonder which- I better check on him:wink:

Hope it doesn't get too bad- I'd be mortified too:no:

My hair has started coming out in handfuls. I thought I had got away with it, but it started a week or 2 ago. I figured the hair falling out thing would be immediate. Just a warning to those a few weeks behind us. A friend at antenatal has had the same thing too. Hope it doesn't look too silly. Seems OK atm.

OMG you too Mrs B
Yeah he is still sleeping- it says to wake him at 2.30pm if he woke up after 45mins which he did.
So I'll wait..
I'm so proud of him..
I have a funny feeling he prefers his cot to his moses basket, he never minds laying in there, whereas he cries if put down in MB..
Oh I don't know..
O/H is sooo funny, when I said that we should probably soon put him in his cot, he said "but shouldn't we have him in here with us for 6 months"- so I said "yeah we could do" and he then said "But his cot is in the other room"..
So I looked at him, and I realised h had thought he could sleep in his MB for 6 months
HOW FUNNY- he is almost too big now- how did he think he'd fit there in 2 months let alone until 6mths..
Hahahahahah:tongue: Men eh:teehee:

Its not too bad at the moment, I just really notice it when brushing my hair after a shower in the hair brush.
I sometimes get this when I haven't had a good hair cut and actually I haven't had my hair cut sonce December  I was going to have it done in Feb before little man arrived but obviously that didn't go to plan and I just haven't had a chance yet.

Just wondering if anyones bubbas are sleeping in their own rooms yet. We have been toying with the idea of sticking Jacob down in his room at night. Trying anything to get him to sleep longer at night. Last night was awful and ended up with me in tears at 6 o'clock as I was soooo tired.
We were going to put him in his room last night but after Mrs Lexx's news I just couldn't bear to be parted from him. I was in tears and all I wanted was to cuddle him and tell him how precious he was.
Tonight I might try him in his room and give him formula at bedtime as I am sure he is not getting enough from me.
Will let you know how it goes.

Mrs B Thomas started sleeping in his cotbed about 2 weeks ago - I decided I am less likely to get up to him unless he really needs it but he doesn't need feeding in th night anymore so that has helped, he just wakes for attention so if I do have to get up its not for very long. I usually bring him in with us at about 5.30 though as i know he'll wake up in th next hour / hour and a 1/2 for a feed, plus I start to miss him
give it a go though - I just decided after a few tough nights that i wanted to regain a small part of our lives and it did help!

Well done to Theo MissS for self settling. I put Amy down awake after her 7pm feed last night. She cried for a little while but then went silent. I peeked in and she was fast asleep! Just done the same for her afternoon nap. She cried again for around 10 minutes but is now quiet so am assuming she is asleep. Will check in a mo. I really don't want to have to go through the horrid controlled crying at 7 months we did with Claire again...
Amy is still in with us and will be until she sleeps through as she will be sharing a room with Claire then. TBH I am dreading it. I just hope they don't distrub each other too much....
TC - baby rice! I am dreading weaning. Claire was a fussy b*gger from day 1 so wasn't very much fun for me. I am going to be putting it off for as long as I can! But I am hopeful Amy won't be as fussy. She downs her milk much better than Claire ever did and she is afterall a totally different person!

Well, Jacob slept in his own room all night last night.:ellie: :ellie:
He went down at 8ish and slept till I did his dream feed around 10.30. He woke at 1.30. DH got up and changed him then I fed him. He was asleep again by 2.30. I woke up at 4.30 and was amazed he was still asleep. He woke 15 minutes later and was fed again. He took a while to get back off to sleep and eventually, after several trips to put the dummy back in, fell asleep around 5.45. He slept through till 8.30.
I think he was more settled in his room and it worked well for us. I think we will keep it up. I didn't give him formula in the end. Decided to try one thing at a time.
I took the travel cot down this morning. We now have space in our bedroom for the first time in 11 weeks
I hope he gets better with his sleeping now.

Theo seems more settled when he naps in his room as well, which makes me want to put him there for his night time sleep, but I've just spent £60 on blackout curtains for our bedroom, so he HAS to sleep in there for now:teehee:
As long as he is happy napping in his room I can always put him there now & again, so when the big day comes he wont mind sleeping in there..
He's slept all day:no: - well i guess he would, what with going to bed at 1am:hissyfit:
Today- the urge to switch to formula has become even stronger- I feel much better when I know how much he's eaten- so today I've given him bottle 2 times and expressed 6 oz and breast a few times.

Cheeks just do what YOU want to do re formula. you've done brilliant nearly 8 weeks bf'ing and it would be super if you could continue but if you cant well then thats your decision. Theo is growing great  yes, so dont worry about your BM not being enough though, i dont think he looks like he's wanting
Leila's only just beginning to take 4oz now at every feed. for weeks now its only been 3oz, at a push 4. so i'm sure that might be why she slept from 8pm-630am last night without ANY feeds :faint: :thumb: :faint: I've stopped dream feeds as they didnt seem to make any diff whatsover to leila's wake up times so thought sod it as i often want to be in bed at 9pm!!! well done mrs b and jacob btw, yay, isn't it great
Shes been going for long stretches now and and again but never this long. what a little star  i would say i got loads of sleep but ruby woke up at 5am for a wee (first night without a nappy on and was 100% dry what a champ!). so that was ruby up - had to take her downstairs as was mindful of her waking up leila. it really is 'if it's not one up, its the other' atm
sympathies to those losing hair :-( i just hope i dont suffer :hugs:
well off for a walk in half an hour, up to tesco extra, post office and then park on way home. jeez feels like midday already!!
oh and cheeks i often went back to bed when ruby had her first nap of the day, so if you are now getting both of you up earlier to form some sort of routine for T, why dont you catch some z's then, if you're missing your morning snoozes. i wont say much else on that as i am JEALOUS :hissyfit::tongue:
whats everyone up to today, the weather here's GORGE :thumb:
oh and pics swingo, PICS!!!

 Hellooo,
Ohhh feel much better today- Theo went to bed at 10.30pm and so did we, and then he only woke at 2.35am and again at 7am, so I feel more rested.
Can't remember the last time I went to sleep before 12am:puzzled:
I'll nap when he does now PV- he berluddy sleeps so much that it's easy to catch a few hours here & there- it's just *doing it*..
Most days I'll find osmething to do, or have someone to meet up with etc, so I end up not napping at all!
Bummer about your saturday class PV- I'd be feeling like this:hissyfit: ...
Luckily my gym has a creche 7 days a week, but I doubt I'll be going on weekends tho.
I'm meeting a friend today at noon- and am contemplating now whether to sleep before or take a shower now.
Theo has just fallen alseep for his morning nap.
Sod it- I'll catch some shut eye:yeahright:
Don't you all just LOVE it when your bubbas smile, and they keep doing it- it really makes me laugh so much- aaww blessssss:grin:
Pv can't wait to see Leila again- bet she is CUTER now:ellie:
Does anyone know if a childs passport is expensive and how long it's valid for?
I wana go to Denmark in June for a few weeks, but can't go until we've had T registred (23rd may) and got him a passport:puzzled:

Well done to the lovely Leila
Thomas had to have his 2nd lot of jabs today and he screamed  Luckily he got over it quite quickly though and carried on drinking his milk - will give him a little bit of calpol or neurophen tonight and hopefully he'll be okay. Was much better when he had his 1st ones and was fast asleep!!!!!
It's soooooooooooo lovely outside - I will be so pleased if the summer is this good whilst I'm off 8) Have been enjoying it all day!!
Miss SC - baby passports last for 5 years and I think they cost about £25-£30.
Know what you mean about the smiling - melts your heart doesn't it :lurve:

Hi everyone -
miss sc - passports are £34 for children !!!! (am i just being cheap or is that just too much !!??)
I made the mistake of telling my hv that i had some weening stuff in - ready for when he's 4months (which isnt that far off) - she then said its 6 months now!! Oh how things change - it was 4 months when dd was a baby (shes only 7yrs now!!)
I had a very proud mummy moment earlier on - he holds his little giraffe rattly thing but actually started chewing it and giggling away like he was really chuffed with himself
anyhoo before i ramble on better go

Sorry I've not been about much - our internet has been playing up again! Hopefully it's sorted now.
Took Jessica to a baby massage class today - she loved it for the first 10 minutes but then she got hungry and decided to scream her head off! It's really lovely though bonding with them through massage. I think the course is on for the next few weeks so hopefully she'll get better as time goes on!
Yay for Jacob Mrs Bunny!
Jessica is into a really good routine now and sleeps for approx 7-8 hours solid every night. She is still in our room and has plenty of room left in her crib so will probably be with us for a while yet, which is fine by be atm!
Still not got Jessicas passport done yet - we go away on 6th July so I'd better get a wriggle on!
