I am hoping someone can give me some really useful advice on getting my little man to sleep for a reasonable amount of time.
Most babies around his age that I know seem to be going 5-6 hours a night most nights. Jacob just doesn't seem to be able to string more than 2 or 3 at a time. I have tried everything. I wondered whether he was hungry. I cluster feed him in the evening, bed around 8ish and then dream feed around 10.30-11. Last night he was up at 1, 3, 4.30 and then around 6. I only fed him at 3 and 6 as I was sure he wasn't hungry the other times, just spent ages putting his dummy in till he went back to sleep.
I want to put him in his own room soon as he is getting too big for his moses basket, but don't want to till he is sleeping better. It is easier to just stay in bed and stuff the dummy in when he is in with us.
I am at my wits end. I haven't had a decent nights sleep since I got pg and it is driving me mad. DH could take him, but a)I want to save my EBM for when I am out and b) I really need to knock this on the head.
I've been trying the baby whisperer and it is not too bad, but the sleeping is just not happening. His tummy should be big enough to take him overnight, he is getting sleep in the day, but not too much and we have a good bedtime routine. He has the dummy, but doesn't wake up when it falls out and often sleeps without it.
Sorry for the epic. I just don't know what to do anymore. I was in tears over it yesterday. Combination of frustration and sheer tiredness.
Thanks for any advice.
