I think I was born with an old head on young shoulders too. It seemed like the right time for us- (DH was 29) and we had been engaged since I was 22, I just look back sometimes and think "feck, I was a child bride!".
That said, I'm not sure I would do it differently.

My parents married at 18 and celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary this year!

If i hadnt been a skint student when we met and living 50 odd miles apart because I was at uni we would have done it much sooner but I have no regrets, we were happily unmarried and we are now happly married :smile:

I was 21 when I got married adn DH 25. I got married 1 month after I graduated :shock:
We bought our 1st house when I was just turning 20 though :shock:

Looking back I was sooooooooooooooooooo young but don't regret it for one moment.

Being a young bride made everything so perfect & magical, obviously none of my friends were married/getting married so there was no competitiveness etc we just did everything our way!
We went to St.Lucia on honeymoon which was amazing, neither of us had ever been to the Carribean before that so was true luxury.

We have been together for 8 years now and married for nearly 5. I have felt pressure that we should've waited till nowish to have got married and a couple of years down the line to be having our 1st baby, but why should I!!!!???
It's nice now aswell becoz a lot of our friends are starting to get married or hoping they will and we can sit back and enjoy it all!!
Also, even though they are just starting to get married they've still been with their OH's for the same length of time, I was just impatient :wink:
