Starting to feel stressed about xmas.

OH is off sick at the mo (has just had an op and been signed off for 3 months initially) so we only have my wages plus SSP (£270 a month) coming in so there is NO WAY we can afford xmas pressies  We have known for a while that this op was coming up but we are in quite a lot of debt so dont have much money left each month to save, plus the money we have had has had to go on things like vet bills, the car etc :sigh:

We told everyone a while ago what the situation was going to be like and that we didnt want then to buy us anything as we couldnt afford to buy anything back but people have still gone out and brought us stuff and now i feel really, really bad as i cant accept presents from people when i havent got them anything and now i feel like i have to go out and buy things for people even though we have no money to

Has anyone got any ideas of cheap / homemade things that i could make / buy as "something" to give as i really want to be able to give something to everyone who has brought for us

Boxes of nice biccies from the likes of M&S or Sainsburys.

Most have a special 3 for five pounds or something offer.

Or make your own cookies- wrapped in nice tissue paper or the like.

Baking is a good idea, I saw a recipe for fudge in a mag the other day.
