Just wanted to reccommend TENS to people. I hired mine t'other day (can't use it before 37 weeks) and I've been using it for my SPD.
It doesn't take the pain away completely, but my god does it ease it!! I'm only using 2 of the 4 pads but last night I had the best nights sleep I've had in weeks and this morning had enough relief to actually (TMI WARNING!!) have a bit of how's your father with MrOp for the first time in about 2 months!!! :D
If you're 37+ weeks & you've not already hired one - GET ONE NOW!!! I can imagine it being wonderful in labour!

I was provided one to use in labour with Eilis too, Opp. It was great. It was only the very final stage when it didn't help - and in any case at that point I was getting in the pool, so wouldn't have been able to use it.
I did arrange to hire one with Connor, my first. But he suddenly arrived 4 weeks early - 2 days before I was due to pick the machine up!

I ordered mine this morning :cheer2:
A tip from my nct teacher... if you have the machine on, then decide you want a bath, get someone to draw around the pads so you know where to reattach them to when you get out, it wont take as long to start the effectiveness apparently

I hired mine from http://www.babycaretens.com/index.html after a recommendation from miss sweetcheeks. I copied her and went for the elle tens with the platinum package

I hired mine from my hospital physio dept. £24 to hire from 37 weeks to one week after the delivery date, and £20 deposit. They made us have an appointment to teach me how to use it & show MrOp how & where to attach the electrode thingies.
