I have been to hospital today and they aren't happy as I now have protein in my wee, and the little lights I have seen on a couple of occasions reappeared this morning. They did some tests, and now they think I have an infection which has ramped up my vaginal discharge (sorry) A LOT, so it wasn't my waters, just a very heavy discharge. They think the protein is being produced by the bacteria as my BP is fine, but they said to go back pronto if the lights reappear which did not exactly instill me with confidence
They are doing more tests and I have come home. They said I could stay, but tbh I'd rather be here with DH in my own home. Really frustrating that I will have to wait till after the BH for results unless things go very wrong suddenly.
I'm feeling a bit down about the whole thing, so I was wondering if anyone else had infections/ protein stories that might reassure me. Ta muchly

I had protein in my wee and it was thrush!!!! I didn't have the usual itchiness, I did have increased discharge, but thought it was a pregnancy thing. They treated it with canestan perssary. So, nothing serious at all. Hope it's the same for you!

I've had raised BP & protein in my wee & twinkly lights & headaches & bad water retention for a couple of weeks & they've said I have pre-eclampsia & it's bad enough to keep a close eye on every day, but not bad enough to really do anything about yet. They've kept me in a few nights but I've been let go most of the time. They've given me a tub of pee sticks so I can monitor the protein myself, the highest it's gone is ++ but it usually bounces between trace & + and they still don't seem to be too worried. I'm seeing the consultant tomorrow to discuss when we'll do the c-section but that's for other reasons. The pre-eclampsia is actually the least of my worries at the moment!!! With staying in hosp, I was actually really depressed when they sent me home again yesterday. It's so frustrating to be in & out & in & out & kept hanging all the time, I wish they'd just get on with it, but we'll have a date tomorrow so I'm a bit more positive today. Maybe it's just a little blip that they might just want to keep an eye on but won't actually cause a problem for you? That's what I'm having at the mo & it was a worry at first but everything is fine & it's actually quite comforting to know I'm being monitored so closely so if anything happens they can deal with it immediately. They keep telling me to watch out for any 'visual disturbances' like the twinkly lights - I think that's the warning sign for the pre-ec.
