Isabel actually grabbed the bottle today and held it up herself  I nearly fainted! She obviously cant do it when it is full but when it has less in it she can.

In my Avent kit there were some trainer handles to put on the bottles to teach them to hold cups etc at what ages are you meant to use them? I know the magic beaker things say 3 months +

I bf Lu until she was 5.5 months but she actually used to hold my boob like a bottle :) it only took her about a week to get the hang of holding a bottle and ever since she hasn't liked me holding it at all.

I never bothered with the handles on the bottles and she actually prefers cups without handles too. I was using the Avent ones and had to take the handles off because she wouldn't drink from them.

 Isabel you clever girl :D

That Lu knows her own mind doesnt she, the little devil!

I was very impressed with Isabel, she seems to have come on in leaps and bounds over the past week, what with holding the bottle, grabbing more toys, cutting teeth and she has become very very vocal! It just seems to have happened all of a sudden!

 Isabel, what a clever little lady.

James sometimes holds it himself but I'm not ready to try handles yet as it could messy. His hand control isn't quite good enough just yet (he's 6 months next week).

Niamh still won't hold a bottle!! Well she CAN hold it, she puts her hands round it and sometimes with her water cup she'll hold it, but she STILL (!!!!!) doesn't get that she has to tip it up to get anything out of it.

Well done Isabel!! :ellie:

ETA Why don't you just put the handles on anyway, it'll give her something to play with if nothing else, and she'll get used to them.
