Thinking of starting my own business

doing party packs and build it up to party planning! I have an idea where I provide all the stuff needed for kids parties and possibly other smaller parties (halloween, christenings, christmas etc)

I am thinking of making up packs to order with different themes and including everything from decorations to games and filled party bags.

I need to research this and look at costs, demand etc but wondered if its a service you would use.

I hope to start small then build up to actually organising whole parties (venue, decorations, food etc)

What do you think?

Cool great idea. esp as im having a party on saturday for chloe and could of done with ideas what to put in the packs...its all so much hard work when you have other things to do.

I have a friend who was thinking about doing this. I did a bit of research for her and there is quite a lot of competition around. Also many people who are organising a party order go onto the internet and just order their own supplies from websites and get what they need themselves. Don't mean to put you off, because its a great idea. :thumb: Good Luck

thanks girls! I am going to research costs and probably decide from there if its worthwhile to do or not... also look at competition.

Dannygirl - its ok you havent put me off, I was thinking of a service to take the hassle out of them ordering it themselves i.e. they tell me what theme, what age, how many kids etc and I do the rest so they dont have to worry about finding everything or having the time to do it iyswim

you will never guess what but this is my business idea too.l I have done some research on the net, and found some sites, and you will need to bulk buy, I thought about this after I got my wedding bags for the children.

We were seriously going to do it, but had to wait until we moved to get more space.

hmmm space could be a big thing for me if I need to bulk buy loads! Will have to start reserching so I get an idea of what it will involve (only thought of it today really)

To be honest I dont think I would use it, because I enjoy doing the party and all the *bits* myself.

You would have to have really good prices, or aim at the high end of the market to appeal to me. I checked out a couple of companies like this but just found it too expensive for parties I have done.

If you found the right niche, or supplied something that people loved but couldn't buy themselves it could be a goer. :luck:

I was thinking about unusual themed kids parties too... Kenidee went to one not so long ago that was a nature party and they all planted a bulb and decorated a plant pot... I would supply all needed for that type of party. And there is a place in my home town that does parties where you can decorate plates etc so that could be an idea too, like a craft party!

I want different ideas so that people look and think "hmm never thought about doing that" and they don't have to worry about finding all the stuff cos I would for them.

I would of course do normal party things too

i dont think you could make enough money unless you bulk buy as you get things so much cheaper. My idea was slightly different to you but on the same lines. I did find some site's will see if i saved them in favourites

great idea JT - However as some of the people have already mentioned a lot of people want to do things like this them selves these days.
I have a wedding stationery business but you would be suprised with the amount of people who make it them selves these days!!!!
