Elena's party is on Saturday.
Apart from the usual sandwiches, crisps, sausage rolls, cheese & pineapple on sticks, jelly etc what other food should I make/put out?
I'll be baking tomorrow!!! (& probably going to the supermarket to replace it for real food in the afternoon).
Any suggestions? Childrens nibbles & adult ones.
At the party we have 1/2 dozen children from 2 - 5 as well as assorted parents/grandparents/friends. We were hoping to do a bar-be-que for the adults, but it looks like it might rain :(

Pinwheel sandwiches (like rolled up in a spiral)
sandwiches cut with shape cutters like rabbit shapes on a bed of cress with some carrot sticks
dips (avocado, salsa with out the spice - breadsticks and veggies)
mini quiches or tortillas (done in a bun/muffin tin)
um, I'll have another think and get back to you.
I think I have some ideas in a book at home if you can wait until tonight too??

OMG - I've just counted up & we'll have 14-17 adults coming + 5-8 children
Can I have some 'make the sun shine' vibes please as we've only got a small house.

if you want to spice up the fresh fruit for adults try this (I do half slices of pinapple nice and thick down the centre and raspberries down each side). cursh a bunch of fresh mint with sugar and sprinkle it over - it is divine - need to do the sugar last minute is the only thing. If you don't use it on Saturday try it after a curry.
Sunshine vibes to you for Sat and I'll get back to you with ideas

Ahem - I tend to cheat and buy the frozen party food stuff from the supermarket - chicken satay sticks, pakora and the like  The kids tend to go for the cocktail sausages and cakes!
Lots of 'sunny day' vibes coming your way ...................

I am glad you posted this SB as it gives me ideas for Ellis' party for Sunday.
With the fresh fruit platter could I do that in the morning and then just cover it over with foil and take out of the fridge just before the party starts?

I can help with unhealthy things :-)
traffic lights (chocolate fingers with red, orange and green smarties stuck on with blob of melted choc)
marshmallow cups (mini cake case, layer of melted choc in bottom, marshmallow on top, smartie on top of that)
