Hey mummy Damsels,
Happy Mothers Day to you all!!
I hope you are having a good one. I've had three cards (including one from the dog :laff: ) and I believe scrambled eggs and croissants will be forthcoming.
Have a great day, you've earned it!! :retro-gal:

Happy Mothers Day everyone!! Hope everyone's having a lovely day!
Mine is pretty rubbish so far actually, haven't even had my card
DP was a very silly fella last night, got stuck into his new PS2 game and did't go to bed til 2.30am (well, 3.30am I guess as clocks had changed). He did let me have a lie-in, and got up with Elise, but he said he'd been asleep on the sofa for most of it, so hadn't written my card yet. Then, as I got up, they both went to bed, which is where they are now.
We're broke this month as we've had a couple of big things to pay out for, so we can't go out for lunch or anything, and I knew I wouldn't have pressies or flowers (which is absolutely fine), but to be woken with a cuppa, or my card, or to have had the living room tidied or something would have been nice.
I shouldn't complain as DP is fantastic most of the time, and he's been working in central London this week (5am-8pm) so he really is shattered. He just isn't very imaginative or thoughtful when it comes to things like this.
Hopefully it'll improve when they get up!!

Well he should definitely make you lunch then, or dinner!

What Suzie said
I've had a pants day so far too. DH hasn't bothered with anything. My mom bought a card and got Z to sign it but I was with her when she bought it so I know it came from In Store and cost 80p. Not that I am fussed about where it came from. I'm the least materialistic person ever but it would have been nice to have a surprise. She also got me a shower gel/bath set that I would have been overjoyed with 15 years ago, it's called funky girl cosmic cherry or something like that, I mean wtf???? I'm 27!! I try not to be upset but careless presents do get on my nerves. And I know she got it in the bargain bin in Somerfield. Lordy, I sound like an ungrateful cow but I'm having bad problems at the moment and I didn't even get a cup of tea. I stormed out to Asda and got myself some wine for later and ended up feeling so  at all the people buying flowers.
AND I swore I'd have a break from the internet so I wouldn't have to read about all the nice things other people got but I'm so needy for some people to talk to. :retrotype:

Oh, poor August Girl :( Sorry to hear you're having such a pants day, and a pants time generally.
Pour yourself a bucket of wine :pour: and chill out this evening.

Thanks Damz, and making dinner for me he is! We're having Moroccan Chard & Lamb Pan-fry from this months Good Food magazine.
I was supposed to be cooking, as it's something I really enjoy, but he has insisted. I do also have a card now, and one from DH too. He's just taken Elise to his Mum's, and I'm just online putting the finishing touches to a montage for my Mum to open when she gets home from work :)
Sorry to hear your day is rubbish AG, I really hope it gets a better. :hugssmilie:
