I never used to get so upset by the news where children are involved as I do since having a child myself. I really had a cry just now about this on the news.

I hate hearing stories like this too since having my own babies. I just think about how I would feel if mine died

Early speculation was mushroom poisoning, suicide pact has been ruled out, now the chances are it was carbon monoxide poisoning from the self catering chalet were staying in. The father is supposed to have improved overnight in the hospital, no change in his partner and the Mother is flying over today.

I know that resort quite well as its on the way to the resort we usually stay in - such a terrible thing to happen

I got worried as a colleague of mine is in corfu currently with her boyf and his kids but it's not her. Horrible horrible situation though, I can't imagine how the kids' mum is feeling

The same here. I was really upset reading about this in the Metro on the train this morning. It was on the same page as a story about a father who drugged and smothered to death his 3yr old daughter because his wife had had an affair and the story of a 22-month old baby who died of a methadone overdose from his heroin addicted parents.:-(

I heard some more about this on the news and ther dad and his girlfriend are in a coma.

The poor mother she was flying out today wasnt she, although i dont get why the children were found washed up, how did they get to the water?

So, so sad.

Was reading the Sun online this morning and apparently the children were found dead in each other arms  Utterly heartbreaking.

It also transpires that they were never meant to stay there originally - Thomas Cook moved them a few weeks before they flew out as the original hotel they booked had closed early, apparently.

I would be asking an awful lot of questions at this point now - the very first being why on earth was the family moved to such a death trap? What safety procedures were (or in this case obviously weren't) in place.

Do holiday companies not have an obligation to make sure that the accomodation they 'rent out' is 100% safe?

The BBC website this morning says that the post mortem found that the children defintely died of carbon monoxide poisoning. The dad has regainsed consciousness but the police have decided not to tell him about his LOs yet

Oh, that's heartbraking, I'm not a parent myself yet but I can imagine that hearing that would make you wish that you'd never woken up after all  I hope the mum's out there now and is being looked after.
